Didn't create this character

There is a new character on my account that I definitely didn’t create.
Nobody else has had access to my account. I haven’t played for a couple of months, and I just went to play and there are now two characters instead of one.
I had just one character, low level, because I haven’t been playing for long. Now there is a new necromancer character there, level 7. Where did it come from? Who did it? What can I do about it?

How do they get your email address is what I would like to know.

In my email inbox. NOT in my spam/junk box either. It is bogus, right?
Because when I try to link the last part of that link in the email to the correct site it finds nothing.
They couldn’t just close my account could they?
I am a bit of a noob with MMO’s and haven’t played this for a few months now.
Please give me a bit of advice here

Authenticator Questions/Concerns [merged]

So I just started playing, and I am sick of having to authenticate my I.P. everytime I play.
I am playing from the same location.
Steam never tells me I am playing from a new location, so I KNOW my I.P. isn’t changing.
Are you ever going to fix this problem?
Do NOT tell me to call my ISP to confirm the I.P. every time I try to play this game, because that is ridiculous.
Just let the game recognise my system specs, and then it will know I am on the same PC every time.
This obviously needs addressing, judging by the amount of people here with issues, and how long it has been going on.
