I feel your pain. I tend to give anet the benefit of the doubt more times than not, but the issue of population overall I do not feel has been properly addressed . It feels like the lower population servers are just left hung out to dry. Instead, it seems like anet keeps trying to introduce new mechanics that will change the game dynamic so that the population imbalance will be less of a deciding factor, but it just falls flat At the end of the day, WvW is still a numbers game.

I came from ET, which back in the day was a WvW powerhouse, but then fell apart and spiraled down to the very bottom of T8. And while I LOVED the community so much, and I still miss it, WvW at the time was a ghost town, and ultimately I left because that wasn’t the game I wanted to play.

I absolutly agree, the “population” rankings should be re-adressed as one way to help smaller servers out.

Of course! T1 is pretty much 24/7 coverage, but if you weren’t looking to move there, SoS is the unofficial Aussie server, and we’d love to have you! In fact, I’m pretty positive our sea presence outnumbers our NA presence, or at least that’s what it feels like most days

This makes me pretty angry. I typically cut anet a lot more slack than most, but as someone who came from ET (the bottom of the bottom of NA), this infuriates me. You can’t blame FoW and Vabbi for not showing up – I bet everyone who cares about WvW has transferred off by now. And that third server is probably bored out of their mind as well. There will always some discrepancy in WvW populations, I’m sure, but anet really needs to do something about this. I realize that it’s probably complicated, but could they at least seriously acknowledge the problem?

I’m not typically one to jump on the “WvW takes a total backseat to PvE and PvP” qq bandwagon, but somedays it really feels like WvW does.

Its a nice idea in theory, but it will only backfire. I spent some time in ET (tier 8) back when all transfers were free, and typically what would happen is that guilds would move down, play for a while, get bored (you can’t blame them -its just not the fights that they were looking for ) and transfer back up (which they can easily afford to pay for, free transfers or not), taking all of the people they recruited with them, further destabilizing that server.

Also, last time I checked, transfers to low pop servers are a lot cheaper than higher ones, yes?

I recently changed servers from ET, but I remember PK being a great guild – they PvE, but they also have some awesome players who WvW. They’re really friendly too- their guild leader is pretty much the nicest guy around. Here’s their website if you’d like to check them out!
