Necromancers in theory would probably be the most OP in WvW, but actually playing it is a different matter. There’s the whole problem of cooldowns, lack of mobility/stability/boons in general, and nonexistent to decent burst at best.
Thieves, elementalists, and mesmers probably have the top escape mechanics and confusion methods in this game. They make excellent scouts and havoc groups, and ele’s heals + their focus and mesmer’s portals + veils are basically essential for a zerg. They are far more squishy than necros in comparison, but their endurance + confusion techniques make up for that. Necros are great tanks, provide huge AOE traps, boon stripping and general crowd control, and we’re the most efficient at them in terms of cooldowns. We work at best in a group, and can basically destroy a zerg at a concentrated point purely by laying down tons of marks and wells, or for pushing up to cap a tower just by plaguing your way up. But then again, number > composition in zergs right??
The main problems with our class is that we have few escape mechanics and no stability outside of a ds trait and a 3 minute elite, so if you get tripped up by immobilities and stuns or even cripples sometimes, and all your condition cleansing skills are on cooldown, using plague to escape tank is really only delaying the inevitable unless no one targets you. And epidemic… in theory, it would be one of the best anti zerg spells, but the limit of 5 targets, LOS nerf, cast time and condition cleansing basically makes it OK at best in a chaotic zergvszerg fight. It WAS one of our best wall-offense/defense skills, but now it’s ‘working as intended’, so really it’s only the most useful when attacking squads or smaller groups or y’know, NPCs. And DS is not meant for tanking a zerg. You’ll get downed in 3 seconds flat. Use it to escape off high ledges, mitigate high burst damage, or use it for the fury/fear/gap closer. Or I guess an oh kitten button if it comes to that, but that’s generally a poor way to go about using it. Minions are not viable at all in WvW fights bigger than 2-3 max, flesh golem outstanding purely for its knockdown. No, really, please don’t go minion master in WvW because you’re just another loot bag for the other servers.
So it p much comes down to, necros outshine others in certain situations, and the other half the time, you should just roll a necro in WvW purely for the insane amount of loot bags you’ll get. So there’s my two cents. +thumbsup

Psst I drew this the other day and I figured I’d add my two cents. From left to right: rosy updo, vine dreads, some sort of belldrop head, leafy fauxhawk, and some grassy cattail thing. Personally I’d love more flower-oriented hairdos, like actual head-plant styles: roses, daisies, venus flytraps, something ridiculous etc etc. I don’t think it’d be too outlandish, considering the pale tree has that sort of thing going and we already have a mushroom head. More modern-looking hairstyles would be interesting too, but that might be a bit too far a stretch for sylvaris.
But what I think we really need here is a whole sackful of new planty facial hair yes/yes

I don’t think a few DCs are going to lag you guys behind; the number of TC at FABL garrison was nightmarish enough an hour or two ago haha.

8/10. Sounds lovely! I’m a bit nitpicky with the spelling, and it reminds me a bit of Pokemon, but otherwise it has a nice smooth tone to it.

Kaineng’s coordination and tactic is pretty much terribad from what I’ve seen. I’ve been running around in Maguuma’s BL and we have had nearly all our commanders hammering away at the Hills and struggling to keep Greenlake and the supply camp for over two hours. What other places we have just keep getting turned and steamrolled while our main numbers are at a standstill to the north of our spawn camp. Even then, you can drop a couple siege weapons and you’d down half our zerg. Though to be fair, Maguuma’s zergs are insanely huge and the culling is still an issue, but I guess that’s how other worlds felt against us. And good job[AoN], you guys are nuts.
I’m just disappointed I can’t get my map completion done hahaha.

Mmm I love the huge HP pool and great survivability, but I started with necro mostly for the minions honestly. I’m still terrible at managing condition skills + DS and pulling aggro by myself so having a small army doing stuff for me feels pretty awesome. The AI is crap and it’s not all that efficient but I enjoy the play style immensely. I’d love it a lot more if they’d throw a few buffs our way and fix the AI though. 8Y
