Guild Wars 2

One of my biggest disappointments with GW2 is its lack of support for SLI. I stopped playing the game for a year and after recently returning, expecting some decent optimisation patches since last playing the game, I am once again met with awful SLI scaling.

Most of the time each GPU is at 40% utilisation (two GTX 970’s), meaning it doesn’t even hit the performance of a single GPU. I play at 1440p resolution so getting as much utilisation is vital for me as 1440p already consumes a lot more than 1080p.

After googling around I can’t find any solutions to SLI, does anyone else know anything that can help? It’s really frustrating to be getting below 60fps in some areas when you know your GPU’s have the ability to hit 100+fps if they’re actually being utilised.

I purchased Guild Wars 2 a week ago now, and since then I have been noticing a minor but concerning issue when playing the game. Basically, when I’m moving around in the game I get these flashes/flickers of screen tearing (if that’s the word for it). The flashes are very quick and don’t affect the visuals to the point where I can’t play the game, but they are very annoying and I don’t know how to fix them.

I have tried tweaking with all the in-game settings, and I usually play on ‘high’ settings as that’s what the game automatically set for me. I have also removed all my PC overclocks and tried various setups, but I still get this problem? Other games on my PC such as Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3 and Minecraft never have this issue, so it’s only occurring in Guild Wars 2.

PC Specs:
- Intel i5 3570k CPU
- XFX Radeon HD 7950 3GB GPU
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 heatsink with Cooler Master Storm Scout case (all temperatures are stable and air flow is good)
- OCZ ZT 650W PSU
- Asrock Extreme4 Z77 Motherboard
- Acer 24" 1080p 2ms monitor (never has any issues outside this game)
