reviving the topic: GW2’s still giving me ubberlag quite frequently, just so as you know
weirdly enough no one seems to stand up to flame me on this one? I am surprised, no one else thinks like I do also? I feel like talking alone hahaha
idk, I’ve being spending money on better games, sometimes 35 bucks can buy a little bundle of games at steam sales, and not just any screwed up indy stuff, u can actually acquire some awesome and fun games…
While GW1 was ultimate, it simply had no competition, they’ve dumbed this one down to the level of f2p mmos that are not fun at all, and are quite saturated in the market, I would gladly praise Anet if they had kept to their word and left gw2 as a gw1 sequel, not an entirely different game in the same setup…

OP said it all, I am more skeptical and less patient, They’ve made me not believe in anet at all for countless reasons, GW2 is a failure on my eyes, but wth? MMO feeders would be happy here or in any other trash “P2W/F2P” MMO that offers exactly the same stuff
I love how the vaguest statement of intent is automatically rendered a “promise” in the minds of players.

This sequel is so boring compared to GW1, it’s also a greedy fishing net, instead of a game in my eyes, I’ve being away for some time cuz I just wanted a server transfer, and guess what, if I do buy gems for that I’ll be forced to spend 35 bucks, I’m rather buy new better games, srsly… I face GW2 as a waste of money til they make this game more like GW1, if not, it’ll be a waste of money forever
This thread is all about an incoming revamp/balance of skills that is coming out on Oct. 15. It’s possible they might include new skills along with the the changes.
the way things are I would bet the new skills are only coming when GW3’s out
porting into the new engine/graphics, to the trash can with everything else GW2 has
I do not see why it should be given for free at character selection /shrug. Getting mad at this reminds me of the several customers I had who were “disgusted” that we charged extra to hook up their DvD players and other devices to their TV, always stating to us it should be free since it is all related to their television.
I could understand being upset if it was a subscription game, but this isn’t a subscription game.
Well maybe many people want it to be a B2P game like GW1 was. And thats why they are mad about this. I don’t care about this in particular. I am mad about this bad behavior in general. If it is this thing with the hair or the LS or the mini’s or the presents for gems or P2W items like finite coin for SAB and, gold driven system and so on.
Just let me pay for expansions if you want my money and stop this sort of things. If I like that I would have gone for a F2P game that also did not charge money for the initial game.

look, I know all the reasons they’ve done that, I also agree with most, but I’ve joined GW2 unaware of many things, played for some time and found out that the only sv with an active RP community was Tarnished Coast(on NA), that said I’ve just left the game and I’ll not come back till I’m able to transfer, got tired of my lame sv and the lame ppl in it, also, I can see no point on keepin in GW2 without any sort of RP element since I’m quite saturated of MMOs(played at least 11 diff mmos over 10 years, none ever made me happy except of a brief moment where I was able to RP in WoW for a while, til the expansion breakout came and ruined the guild), anyway, thing is they should and must if u ask me, they own this at least, a 1 time transfer for new players so we can pickup the game, see how it works and then decide on server, the server communities vary alot, some are focused on X others on Y, some are more receptive others are aholes, and so forth… I don’t like being forced 25 bucks out of missformation, it’s a ripoff and quite unfair, it also made me realize this company isn’t worth shots anymore, GW1 was much superior, GW2 didn’t keep to it, and on top of that this…

oh, just forgot to mention, the random lags, that’s also extremely annoying, was just at the gauntlet tryin for achievement and would lag whenever facing enemies
Thx for the answer, Guess I’ll clear out my account and create new toons from scratch… I’ll just farm some more gold to rush all professions up to 400 so I avoid the hassle later on(good thing will be to be able to sell some stuff and make some gold easier, without zerg farming pavillion)
As for the Gauntlet, I’m as a ex-HC player would say that it’s far from HC, one for the bosses that have zero effort CCs almost unavoidable(like the Windcaller girly), they’ve added difficult through cheating, they have no CDs whatsoever, no timing can be perfected, the size of the gauntlet cage is amusingly small for so much AoE CC, as for the stack bosses, it’s simple, u either have tons of mitigation / HP and face tank it, or you’ll never be able to get it’s achievement, and so forth…
Thing there is that it’s the most item dependable/class dependable PvE in the game, I would say Anet lacks creativity in that regard, altho I am loving the game, it is a dumb down from GW, it’s also the best in the market currently, simply because of no P2W model and being a 1 time pay life-time sub, so you don’t need to feel obligated to play whatsoever…
Anyway, 3 weeks to get bored in a MMO is a bad sign, it is a pretty kitten good motive to concern, but, idk if there are more who ended up in the same train as I did, altho, loving parts of this game currently will make me stay, I’m counting on Anet bringin GW2 to the lvl GW was, at least build wise…

srsly, when I first arived, around three weeks ago I thought I would experience an improved GW, since it’s the sequel, but what I’ve found is a dull game with lack of customization ugly skins for most armors, lack of liberty/freedom, weird PvP(if compared to GW)…
Now I’m finding myself stuck in a server I didn’t really like, playing in a guild that seems to not play together(as a guild, only small grps of players that know each other), with a character I intended for some specific gameplay style (Norn Thief that was supposed to fill some sort of Medium Armor warrior, impossible to do tho, pvp demands stealth, which was far from what I was planning and what GW originally used to offer).
Needless to say, the customization of the character went downhill, I’ve then rolled a Guardian and regretted taking Vigil’s path, and now I want to delete it(which will make a waste of around 2g, lvl 30 something), rolled a Norn Warrior this time, to find that I’ve forgot to change the body tattoo from the default and got stuck with a ridiculous headband color because I’ve forgot to change that as well in the creation, as a result I’m unwilling to play that character for the time being, and if I continue with it, soon it’ll be out of question deleting it(another re-roll)…
Well, I’ve got completely stressed about re-rolling and doing the same fakin desert-events over and over again, having to forcefully go to a place I didn’t want to just to get EXP to keep playing the freakin personal history, which gives ZERO tips of wtf will happen if u chose 1 or 2 or 3…. Anyhow, as a result I’ve decided that the best choice to not get so bored so fast was to switch to an RP guild and try to have fun while lvling and stuff, but then I’m told my sv has NO RP, and the only SV that has is TC, so here I go research about transfers to find out I’ll have to actually pay fisically 22 dollars to transfer, IF I AM LUCKY ENOUGH TO FIND A SPOT IN THE SV CUZ IT’S FULL. Ok, problem is, I’m without Credit Card atm and unemployed(that’s y I’ve being playing so much, obviously), then again, only option would be to delete every character, that’s not reasonable, on top of that I have no idea if the gold/tokens/whatever will be carried if I delete my characters, if it does, well, np, if it doesn’t I would call that cheating by anet, the game gives little to no tips of how it really works, in fact, if you accidentally chose a bad sv first time u start the game, if u ding 80 u’ll be pretty much doomed or forced to pay 2 play, =/
Anyway, can anyone tell me if I can delete characters without losing “currency” and collectibles?

Since I didn’t find anything on the subject here I’ve decided to post…
As a matter of fact all thos AOE invicible/untargetable objects in the Pavillion are quite absurd, they don’t offer challenge, they’re just annoying, it’ll make u die at times, yes, but most of the time u’ll go down and be healed, but the major effect they have are in the Flame Legion boss(where u can’t even step on the ramp and a insane spam of those just pop leaving no ground free), and those entering the WP area of the Pavillion, the others along the path to enter the fighting areas, if I’m out of a fight wtf are those doing there? srsly, fix this
EDIT: Another option would be to make all of them targetable and not immune to dmg, having to beat those things while fighting a boss could be something of a challenge, instead of a zerg rush of invincible objects that one can only ***TRY*** to avoid…

basically the title, started out today around 3 ours ago, it was all perfect when suddenly, when I traveled to do a Maw event, it started slowly and then BANG, I couldn’t even move out of place without being teleported back…
looked like some sort of stack up effect, in the end the game turned unplayable, login scree before the PLAY button’s taking ages, loading’s also taking much much longer then usual, already tried restarting modem/pc, tried to change mac address to gain new IP(without any success, cuz that trash thomsom modems are locked into the same mac, and they receive the IP instead of the PC) and so forth….
If any help could be lend I would be very grateful, although it might resolve due to some sort of ISP routing this kittening IP has, I still think it could be both ends, bottle-necking connections isn’t something that happen in the middle of an active application without no apparent reason, idk what is going on neither am I able to resolve this issue…
I’ve called the kittens at the provider many times before when this used to happen, they are dumb as rocks and simply keep telling u to restart the modem, don’t know how to force change your internet rout nor they do know how to force change your IP(in their end it is possible) anyway, pls help…
