Dilemma:

There are very few elite players. What would you put it at? 1% of population?
Pointless to reward 1% of customer base in ANY business unless these business customers are VIPs.

The majority of other players want things handed easy to them because this game boasted ‘no grind,… never have to go collect 10 things and hand em in’. The success of this game is built on something that is so different. There aren’t many MMOs that actually hand players things on dishes but this game does it to an extent.

Please don’t pretend that elite players stand on a better moral ground for playing a game better than another person. Such stuff should be left to games that have subscriptions and hardcore dedication and not a game that has successfully appealed to so many casual gamers who just want to have fun.

i’m really confused as to how people even define the word exploit now. The original kiting method is arguably less of an exploit then this current jump. But the only reason people are using this exploit is because the developers made a patch to specifically stop the kiting method.

I’ve played games where you have to run from monsters for 2mins. It’s a gaming skill as much as tanking stuff is.

Whilst arguably, this jump is indeed an exploit, what this patch has done has only shown that ArenaNet punished gamers who are innevitably human. The very electricity running through your computers right now obeys a lazy law called the conservation of energy. Humans behave much the same.

It’s incredulous to think people can sit on a moral high ground believing they are better players. Whilst this jump more explicitly an exploit, I doubt anyone would have discovered it had ArenaNet not implemented that patch.

They could have simply diminished the rewards, without apparently making the dungeon harder and that would already counteract speed running. Maybe a timer limit or daily limit?

What ArenaNet really need to emphasize is their entire philosophy on how they will approach this game in the foreseeable future. it’s a game they dont want us to grind in but they wont also allow players to be reasonably (Kiting) lazy. By far one of the better MMOs but at the moment I simply feel confused by the direction of this game.
