Rly, why make changes in AC was good before this is the first dungeon for lvl 35, was a lot of low lvls doing it and now if you are below 80 you get kicked from group.
I honestly dunno why they make Ascalon harder than Citatel of Flame, after all it is the first dungeon of the game level 35 should serve as learning and not as something kitten only level 80 in full exotics etc. .. the way it was before was very good doable with level 35 in blue / green gear.
Now you need to pray to dont get kicked from group cause you arent 80 or wait for years to get an group.

In my opinion its just a game was suposed to be fun and enjoyable not a pain or stupid hard thing only for pro geared ultra mega combo hardcore ppl.

Yan, we’ve known for years that EotN would grant us rewards if we filled up the HoM. We had years to work on it. Your first post has me wondering, what prevented you from getting EotN in the first place?
Probably because I give up for a time from GW1.
I went back to playing GW1 like 6 months before the release of GW2 and was expecting ArenaNet would consider giving something for older players not by buying EoN.
They should reward everyone like other publisher does.
The question is:
What makes ppl with EoN better than others? (if you consider HoM a reward)
Why they didnt reward everyone with GW1 GW Faction and GW Nightfall, not saying should be Hall of Monuments. (if you consider HoM a paid feature)
And plz less fanboys some ppl advocate ArenaNet like majority shareholders.
Just because someone doesn’t agree with you doesn’t make them a fanboy. I will defend the right of ferrari to charge whatever they want for their cars not because I like their kittenty cars but because is not require, not mandatory and a cheap kia can do the job as well.
Your original premise was dumb, don’t act surprise that some people are not supporting you. also at EoTN it was said that you will be storing your achievement and it will carry over via the EoTN. so really the only one to blame is yourself.

19 dollars? Okay, online it’s 19, but have you checked local stores? I know there are stores nearby where I could pick it up for 5 euros.

EOTN is cheap as hell these days. What’s holding you back?
Causes sounds like “if you want you pay” from Arenanet and thats shows how they respect old player base was suporting Anet in GW1 and still suporting in GW2 and Anet will give you nothing until you pay fot it.
I am not going spend 19,00 bucks for an old game expansion since i am not playing and just to do a stupid quest for GW2 Hall of Monuments.
That money can buy another new game on steam.
The question is: when game developer/publishers will respect player base like old times?
Actualy they just want money at all costs.
I don’t see a FAIL, the Hall of Monuments is located within the Eye of the North expansion. If you can’t access HoM in Guild Wars then it makes sense that you can’t access HoM in Guild Wars 2.

They do rewards players who supported GW1. The ones who supported through EOTN. You didn’t so you don’t get the rewards.
Simple as that.

They very clearly stated that the Hall of Monuments required GW:EN. Its been that way since the Hall of Monuments came out long before GW2 even had a release date.
The Hall of Monuments is an ingame mechanic rewarding players for acheiving things in GW1. It works fine. Its only rewards are some minis, a few titles and skins for armor and weapons.
They could have alternatively not given old players anything. The Hall of Monuments wasnt something they had to do for us.
You got what you payed for when you first bought and played GW1. The Hall of Monuments was a nice extra that came out with GW:EN.
Edit: as a side note, just completing the campaigns didnt get you many points in the HoM. You had to earn titles, max out reputation with factions, recruit and get the prestige armor for heros, earn the rarer weapons, buy multiple sets of prestige armor and collect alot of minis and several rare hunters pets.
It took alot of work. Even with the Hall of Monuments and without the stuff in Eye of the North, just completing the 3 first stories wouldnt get you 8 points unless you completed the missions on at least two of the campaigns in hard mode or had alot of your heros in prestige armor.
No ones saying thats wrong, but the way they did its not fair for those who have other expansions and no EoN, in my opinion everyone who suported the arenanet somehow by completing in game story and archievements or for buying those expansions should be rewarded.
I don’t really have anything positive to add to the discussion itself but I did want to clear one thing up…
You can in fact access HoM without ever owning EoN, you just can’t get any rewards from it otherwise.
I know i just linked my old acc today and got kitten off after years suporting and playing GW1 and getting nothing cause i dont have EoN.

I’m in the same boat as you OP. I quit during Nightfall and never played EOTN. Therefore I got absolutely nothing for my 4-5 years of dedication to the game. It sucks but what can you do.
Yahh thats my point, we can make Anet hear us and maybe they will make a new reward for us trought acc link. But nothing will work if just me and you post in this post.
Hall of Monuments.. It’s there to reward the original GW1 players with the years of work and dedication. There are no REAL rewards. Just some iffy skins and titles.
If you’re irrate that you can’t get something you didn’t earn through months/years of work, then maybe you should put forth the effort in GW1/EOTN that we [gw1 OGs] did.

Have a friend just bought GW1 + Eye of The North a few weeks before GW2 launch and he got Hall of Monuments

Nice rewards for ppl who have Eye of the North, and other ppl dont have just get a “kiss my tail” from Arenanet
Got Guild Wars 1 + Guild Wars Faction + Guild Wars Nightfall and got nothing.

Well if you say is not intended to be a grind, why Gear cost huge amount of Karma, Dungeon Tokens Gold or whatever, end game in GW2 is like another Korean MMO sit down and Farm Farm Farm = Boring.
I’m not saying should be easy, but actualy rewards from dungeons = nothing was no upgrade for new lvl 80’s they just farmin for stupid large amount of tokens to get geared.
