I was thinking about it recently and I think it would be awesome to have large open pvp servers that function similar to WvW only instead it is a constant Race Vs. Race system using the world map. Ideally races would be able to control any of the major cities, and other various point, and from there launch large sieges against the other cities, points, etc.
I just thought I’d suggest it because I don’t believe I’ve seen anyone do so yet.
So I purchased Guild Wars 2 about a month or two ago and since then I’ve been absolutely loving it. I am Co-Leader of a guild with a good friend of mine and I have one single question. Where are the guild halls at? I know the dev team said they wouldn’t be implemented when the game was released but I, and many others most likely, would appreciate an update as to where things are at, or at the very least that they’re still being worked on. I’m desperate to see the entire guild system revamped at this point and this is one of the first steps I’d love to see.
Hello everyone. I run a guild in GW2 along with one of my friends. We act as Co-Leaders and are in love with the guild system but there are a few suggestions we both have.
First off I know guild halls are in the works so I’m not going to suggest that.
My first suggestion is a more complete system than just an MOTD. An entire bulletin board system would be amazing.
My second suggestion is an instant guild wide mailing system accessible by the leaders or other high ranking members. The ability to send important messages to everyone in the guild at once via mail would be amazing
My third and final suggestion is a shout ability in guild chat for high ranking members in order to talk over the others in guild chat.
Thank you for hearing me out. All three of these would be great to see and highly beneficial. Thanks everyone.
So how much is too much? I guess it should be proportional to the normal money you receive for doing an event or selling your loot
Even then I don’t see the reason for costs at all. You’ve already explored the area once. If they want you to get out and see the map then you’ve already done that. My problem is that when I’m out in the middle of a map I have no desire to waste my money getting back to town and even less desire to walk back there. Thus I usually find myself sticking in the towns, no longer adventuring. In my mind the costs only deter the desire to actually play the game.
To some of the others you can deny there’s a problem but a lot of us are dealing with it and I’m not the only one to voice this complaint. Even if the costs aren’t hurting everyone, removing them would harm no one.
I wonder if anyone’s mentioned this at this point but I don’t believe that Guild Wars 2 is at all a difficult game, a broken game perhaps, but not difficult. You see it is my opinion that the game is only faking, perhaps emulating difficulty through the assignment of obscenely high health and attack power levels to the monsters roaming the game, see the dungeons for the best example. At the end of a dungeon, for example, one might look back and think to themselves "that dungeon was incredibly difficult, I can’t believe I defeated it, but it wasn’t. All that really happened was a showdown of trying to have the highest dps and tank the bosses before they down you. There’s no planning, no strategy involved, you really just have to hope that you can manage to win and the fates smile upon you. In this respect I believe I actually could call Guild Wars 2 a bad game.
I remember when I first started hearing about Guild Wars 2 I got excited. There were promises that any character, any class, anyone could play anything they wanted. That the class structure wouldn’t be rigid and there woudn’t be the traditional “tanks, debufs, healers, etc.” but with what the game has become at this point I rather miss that style. I miss potions, actually useful debuff, buff, and healing systems. The difference with that class system and this one is clear. In a stable, typical class system seen in most MMOs a dungeon run would be similar actually. Enemies would be known for their obscenely high dps and health, but unlike GW2 you’d be able to counteract it instead of resing every couple of minutes. There’d be someone focusing on healing, perhaps casting buffs and debuffs instead of everyone scrambling to not die or to get back in the fight after warping to the nearest waypoint.
Personally at this point I think the combat needs a complete restructure to be at all viable, dungeons need to be made more interesting and less of a down/res fest, and the game in its entirety needs to be rethought because an MMO that relies on combat not having good combat is inherently broken in its entirety.
I apologize in advance for the scathing words, these are my opinions and I’d prefer to be quite blunt about them. Thanks GW2 devs for taking the time to listen should you choose to do so.
Um, don’t use them so much.
Outside of walking how do you suggest I get around? If I walk I get attacked by other creatures, my armor is worn down, I have to repair, and am still crippled financially. Even then why would I want to walk for two hours to meet up with a friend and do an instance? Its killing the social aspect of the game, killing my desire to do renown hearts, and overall diminishing my enjoyment of the game.
They’re so adorable. ^.^
I know this. I know a few people that are lvl. 80 that have complained about it. At this point my rewards for hearts are about 1sp20cp to port it costs me about 60cp to 2sp+ The prices are ridiculous.
I know you’ve all probably heard this a million times by now but its ridiculous. I’m level 47 and I’m already spending more than half of what I make on warps alone. I know its most likely to deter people from warping around a lot but at the same time who wants to run through the same area again and again only to risk getting downed by enemies and wasting even more money on armor repairs?
The problem is making the waypoints cost so much isn’t getting people out on the world maps, its only keeping us from desiring to travel any further, at least that’s what its done to me. Personally I’ve gotten to the point where I’m not even doing the renown hearts because I don’t feel like paying the silver to get back to Lion’s Arch or Divinity’s reach and I’m definitely not walking all that way back.
As a side note I’d like to add that mounts would be a cool way to fix the problem but a complete removal of the warp prices at this point would be even cooler. Perhaps put a 30-60 second cooldown on them instead?
I’m only level 42 and they’re already a game breaker for me. I know its probably to deter people from porting around a ton but I don’t particularly like running from place to place or cripling myself financially just to meet up with a couple friends. Its ridiculous really. On that note I believe the game needs mounts. I think they’d help overall but the prices on the warps points needs to be removed altogether. Maybe add a cooldown instead?
