Here is my suggestions to Anet how to try to make people happy/happier… (not that anyone cares or Anet will listen/respond..)
At least I have suggestions and not simply complaining about how much I don’t like this. So here it goes in hope I make any change..
- A fixed recipe in the mystic forge. The ingredients can be anything (example: 4 exotic staffs from dungons or 250 ancient staff heads and shafts + ectos and a gift) as long as its something to work for without the RNG, and a guaranteed precursor as a result. Something like the Halloween recipes.
- A recipe for crafting. Like the one we have seen for the Halloween exotics. I like this one the most because people can still sell it on the TP and get money for it if they so which.
- Sell the precursors for badges/karma/ own currency from a vendor.
- Sell for money at a vendor, this gives Anet the control of the prices of these precursors.
- A real way to get a steady money income. More money for daily/monthly achievement, or just remove the DR all together.
- Always drop one from a chest after the Orr temples/dragons/world bosses. More precursors in the system will hopefully lower the prices to something more reasonable.
Also this gives more instinctive to even do these events for other reasons then “fun”.
Right now they are often avoided because many feel there is no real reward of doing them more then once.
I don’t expect any of the changes suggesting making the precursors non trade-able to go trough, because that will make all those who spent 400g on one precursor feel screwed. But I hope Anet does remember that there is still a majority suffering because of these outrageous prices on the TP. Because there are no real good way to even make that kind of money in this game except playing “Tradig Post: the game”.
Not fun at all.
And IMO one element already does include horrid RNG… the mystic clovers.
And I think many will agree that they will happily farm wherever as long as they know they will have an guaranteed result. Remember that this precursor is still only one of many elements of making a a legendary.
And as many have said, legendary is one form of end-game, and this whole RNG thing for something end-game related just goes against Anets philosophy.
RNG is NOT fun.
Not when you have 1/10000 chance to get what you want. People need to feel its still rewarding enough to continue.
And stop with the crap and say hurr durr its optional, we all know that. But just because you might feel its not that important to you or you don’t want one, doesn’t mean others don’t.
I still have faith in that Anet are working on something, but how can we know? They are so silent about this
Putting 40 exotic level 80 Staffs into the Mystic Forge and guess what happened?

Instead of completely removing them from PvE content, how about a little tick box to enable or disable their presence that can be done on a per-player basis?
I can see PvE-related uses for being a Commander, such as guild-sponsored events and that sort of thing; but most of the time, it’s probably some looney just showing how rich they are … or were rather when seen in PvE content.
See my attached image. A pretty simple mockup of where the option could be. If you want to be selective of which Commanders to see and ignore, then I suppose it could be expanded to allow options to view only Commanders belonging to one of your guilds, Commanders who have X amount of kills in WvW, or even Commanders on your friends list.
This would be perfect. More choices the better imo
/ 100% agree with sins
That’s why I want these precursors to be under Anets control . Making them a vendor item for a reasonable amount of badges/karma/gold, Out of the hands of these people who just wants to make things harder for other players as SiLENT said someone actually admitted.
I know how you feel, it feels unfair that people getting money from exploits and speed clearing dungeons, getting all this money… they buy up the precursors and then sell them for 200% of the previous price.
Now if you didn’t use these exploits or speed dungeon clearing before the “fixes”, getting these weapons from the TP does feel somewhat impossible.
Here is what I think, just gonna throw this out here, how to “fix” this.
- sell recipes for the weapons, so that we can make them, for gold/karma/badges
- sell the weapons out in the world for karma/gold/badges
- set a gold cap on the TP (max price you are allowed to sell things for, maybe already is there I don’t know)
This is just what I think is the best way to get the “power” away from that 1% that have over 900g and buys these weapons on the TP to make even more money. I think everyone should have and equal chance at getting these weapons (without using exploits or real money), and they should be obtainable through more ways then just RNG in the mystic forge or gold and buy from TP.
Im curious, what do you others think about this? Good / bad?
I really think obsidian shards should be available from other karma vendors then just the one after the Balthazar priest event, its really annoying because either the event chain is bugged somewhere or he is unbeatable (because of to few people or people don’t knowing how to beat him or don’t want to learn how…they just tell you to shut up)
Am I alone thinking this? It doesn’t make sense why just one karma vendor sell these.. why not from the other “god boss event” vendors?
I like the idea of more hairstyles that are sold through the gem store
Hi, I just feel like there should be a way to undo this transmutation stone effect, because lets say I want to change my look, and the one I got now already have a very unique look. Lets say I have the exotic tailoring set, it costs a lot or requires some farming to get enough of the right rare materials to craft it. If I want to change back to the look of the exotic tailoring set, I have to make a whole new set, which kind of feels unnecessary.
Or maybe I bought an expensive armor set with gold/karma and maybe want to change look, and later change back. The only thing I can do is to buy another whole set, or get a bunch of backup armor sets with the right stats for transmutation purposes taking a lot of space in my bank.
Maybe introduce some kind of “closet” or a way to save appearances, or another stone for undoing the effect.
I like to change my appearance a lot, so a way to undo the transmutation effect would be awesome
