Phantasmal traits - this has gone on for too long

I agree. I have avoided any type of Phantasm build because I know this bug still exists. It really cuts down on the viability of any builds that go anywhere near these traits.

How do you fight in PvE?

I started using greatsword with scepter main hand and sword off-hand. I know it sounds stupid but actually having the two Blocks really helped me in PvE especially when you trait them to give you Retaliation. The off-hand sword phantasm crits well and attacks often. The scepter 3 does a good amount of damage. After your skill rotation you can simply switch to the greatsword and finish the mob off.

I use to try using sword main hand or dual-wielding swords but melee range isn’t that great for Mesmers.

Has anyone else stopped shattering?

I forget to mention that but yeah, I sometimes use them at the end of a fight. But that is just at the end.

When I first started as a Mesmer, I mostly did shatter builds. The problem was that the non-shatter builds I tried were much more fun. Now, I have a new problem. I never hit the shatter keys anymore. With other builds Phantasms usually come into play somehow and you can even have multiple of the same Phantasm. Do you really want to shatter a phantom?

If you look at the Engineer, they have tool belt abilities in the same slots as our shatters. The difference is that the only time a tool belt skill can’t be used is when the Engineer has turrets out otherwise with any other utility they can just fire off the tool belt anytime they want and benefit.

I just wish I had more incentive to use the other half of our class mechanic because otherwise we look like more of a pet class.
