Rule of Wrist [Row] — Order of the Bee [BEES]
Rate the Asura Name Above You!
Rule of Wrist [Row] — Order of the Bee [BEES]
upholds all of the rules for Asura naming customs, sounds cool too.
Engineer: Tnekk (my virtual reality mini-me)
Mesmer: Fyrni (because i couldn’t get any of the 4 variations of Tassa, etc that I wanted, and Fyrn was one of my gw1 character names)
“And also… I can kill you with my brain.”
~River Tam~
Both names seem to hold pretty well. I approve.
Necromancer: Grell the Trickster
I like it! Plus it has double consonants like so many Asura names.
Warrior: Zeglin
I might make a thief named Stablonius.
Zeglin starts with my favorite letter “Z”. Stablonius is pretty cool.
Fugliest Asuran Warrior of all time: Handsome Hap
I think it’s a hilarious name, although if you had named him “Handsome Happ”, it would get my seal of approval.
My Asura (Elementalist) is named “Ploop the Didactic”. Think of him as that stuffy teacher you had in school who was always correcting you by going, “Well, ACTUALLY…”
On an entirely unrelated note, he can’t comprehend why so many bookahs keep mispronouncing his name by omitting the “l”.
I have 5 Asura and I would have to say that my favourite name of them all is:
Inquisitor Tekky
He is… sympathetic to the inquest cause
“I smell like pomegranate.”
An Asura Thief named Lannka. Consider her Tyria’s version of a corporate espionage type.
Other 80s: Any but Warrior
It sounds very Asuran so it is very good imo :’D I love that kinds of name but i suck at thinking about one..
Mine: An Elementalist named Miss Sparkelz
It’s good, but not very lore correct.
Each of my 3 characters are Asuran.
My main is Synergeticist Yossa (bet you can’t guess what college she’s from)
My alts are Golemancer Glixx and Statics Expert Jett
“Synergy is beautiful!”
Absolutely love Glixx, Yossa is also great (seems to be missing that asura-y edge though, if you know what I mean) and for Jett, the double t isn’t pronounced enough in my opinion to sound asura.
I have my asuran engineer named Kredd. Be honest with me!
Seems like a good, decent asura name. Short and simple as they are best, with double letter and consonant sound at the end which endicates it is a male. I approve
I have one little diabolic, cute necromancer named Zeefa.
i know asuran lore states they prefer short sharp sounding names, but…. them being all "scientific"and “nerdy” i felt i wanted to give latin a go
ended up with a little guardian called Capreolus.
there’s just something in female asura hairdos, large eyes and the way they dodge roll that reminds me of a spooked animal getting away from the danger.
Asura Thief: Smart E Pants
Asura Guardian: Asura Win – extra points if you understood the pun
Nice name, but lore wise not very Asura.
Name: Faayda – Statics Krewemember
Profession: Ranger
My gaurd. is named Plixxa… a play on myxlplyx from Superman lore
Double a’s FTW Faayda..
Neenu Waffler-Warrior for what once was the Toast-
(edited by Flintbrow.7985)
The name is cute for a Asura 8/10
I don’t follow Asura lore because my Asura follows her own lore I give her :P
She is a thief and her name is Crimsonblur
Can’t really say much about the name. It’s interesting but not something I’d use. 6/10
My engineer’s name is Poof Kaboom
^ Uhh… hm. I can tolerate names that don’t necessarily follow canon (i.e. human names on an asura), but when people go balls out and just name their character something ridiculous that would never be used as a name, I just, ugh, yeah. Personal preference, I know. Sorry! I don’t mean to offend!
Mine are Dinny (note that Y makes a vowel sound here, so it’s considered feminine, even though asura names ending in Y are actually unisex) and Annachponae (a human-given name: he calls himself Annac, though, which is much more fitting for an asura).
Interesting names, I don’t know too much about Asuras nor have I played GW1.
I named my Asura engineer Scherzza, mostly because I listen to classical music, but it sort of looks/sounds Asuran, no? I also have an Ausra necro but I just used the name FaĆ¹st.
Scherzza, never heard of that one in classical music, but alright
Engineer: suicide firework
Becc my adorable little Mesmer QwQ
Becc? I like it. Suits an ‘adorable little Mesmer’. c:
Ooja, my Asura warrior muscle-lady who’s considered a little ‘weird’ by Asuran standards.
I like it, great name no doubt!
After hours of thinking i named my necro Aziff. Necronomicon was originally called Al Azif, so I decided to pick it and change a little for lore correction.
Pain Killer [pK] | Blacktide EU | PVE: Corruptionmancer | PVP: Support Wellmancer
Fits well with the Asura naming structure, but tell me, is the pun intentional?
Naxxi, my empty-headed little Engineer/janitor.
^sounds Asuran, I like it.
Mine’s Lukrya, a puprle-clad Elementalist. I didn’t know about the double-letter thing until recently…
I really like the common use of the repeating letters in the names of Asura, but it’s not required. Just think of characters like Teyo. Anyways, I like Lukrya (although I would like to know how you pronounce it to see if I am right, heh) I think it fits well with the tendency of Asura names to have atypical spelling.
For me there is my Elementist, Krewe Master Surah. Occasionally you might see him moonlighting as Peacemaker Surah.
Krewe Master Tekk | TC
I gives you an 8/10 now my the following are my asura.
Elementalist: Xibbal (Likes to zap things with lightning)
Mesmer: Vissk (Enjoys holding intellectual conversations with his clones)
Warrior: Bukk (A psychotic Asura with a love for sharp and pointy things)
(edited by Arkengel RaF.9672)
Bukk for a warrior just seems so fitting! Vissk is pretty great too! Xibbal… I am not too sure off but it is certainly Asura!
Engineer named: Eyomi
(edited by Tinni.4351)
My mesmer: Vheeda because my real name is the same pronounciation and I just asurafied it.
My ranger: Corggi because CORGIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Both lore friendly and cool sounding
My ele’s name: Arreq
It’s weird, because it sounds like a male name but has the format of a female name. A bit too human (LoTR-esque) for my tastes but I could dig an adventure-Asura with that sort of name.
Mine is a warrior named Leapp. Rather fitting I’d say with what hundred blades and half the hammer skills make him do. :P

It’s pronounced “Lu-kree-uh” so you may have been right

Hmm, not sure what to say about this name. Cutting out the criticism and just talking about the character, I think it’s a cute name, descriptive and fits Asura standard format.
I’ve got two:
-Male warrior Dakkx. I wanted Dekks or Dekxx because the way it’s pronounced and his use of a hammer, he’ll deck you before you see him coming, but those names are taken. His name is pronounced ‘Daaks’ but some humans and norn pronounce it ‘Daa-kiks’ or ‘Daa-kuks’.
-Male elementalist Vurza Skye. Perhaps a bit feminine, but he’s not particularly a masculine type, if you get my drift. He himself adopted the second name ‘Skye’ because of his fondness of the atmosphere and its elements (of course, his first invention was a weather controlling device). Instead of taking a scientific title to encapsulate his infatuation, he took a more eccentric route (because he is an eccentric Asura).
Dakkx is a very lore fitting name, Vurza on the other hand, isn’t. Nothing bad about it, though.
Aeiterealle. - She got shunned a lot during her progeny years. Eight-Terry-All. Name is intentionally slightly against lore.
Antherealle – Asura Engineer.
Trucy Millers – Human Warrior.
Aeiterealle, say it fast enough and sounds like ethereal. Which sounds appropriate for a Mesmer…
Just made my first Asura, Zapp Kablaam – Male Elementalist
I like that.. Zapp Kablaam.. heh
My elementalist Asura is named Bazha Hyacinth (refering to the yellow zircon not the flower) I forgot to add the extra z in Bazha when I made him.. whoops.
I like Bazha. The extra Z would have helped it fit lore-wise, and I don’t think Asura usually have surnames, but all in all I like it
I’ve been struggling with mine.. as it also doesn’t fit with the typical Asuran naming guidelines…but I tried for 40 minutes to get one! Them being so short, and only one name, makes them very hard to get!
Looking for some advice on whether to reroll him and try again!
Asura Engineer named Chromlok
Chromlock sounds very engineery. Cool
Draylic is my Asuran Necromancer
@DXIEdge on twitter.
Doerk- Necromancer
hmm i dont know how to pronounce Doerk correctly, most likely sounds good if its said right?
Mine is: Jerricho Barrons – Guardian
If you know where that name comes from you will notice i made the complete opposite in physique to the actual character :P +1 to who ever knows where the name is from
Rayti
Elementalist
Pronounced Ra-y-ti (not Ray-ti or even worse just Ray)
I just couldn’t think of anything with double consonants…
Pronounced Ra-y-ti (not Ray-ti or even worse just Ray)
Ray-Ray variations would be “meh” but Ra-y-ti has some nice Aztec / South American ring to it, good job, sir.
My ele is called Razjel Ha Malach, meaning “Raziel the Angel”.
Razjel (Secret of God) is Keeper of Secrets and an Angel of Mysteries as well as patron of practitioners of magic. Author of famous Sefer Raziel HaMalach (Book of Raziel the Angel) attributed to this figure is said to contain all secret knowledge, and is considered to be a book of magic. He stands close by God’s throne, and therefore hears and writes down everything that is said and discussed.
(most if not all of my chars across many MMOs have names after Gods, Angels and Dwarfs )
Pronounced Ra-y-ti (not Ray-ti or even worse just Ray)

Thank you, that’s what I was aiming at. I’m glad to hear/read that it worked.

I like this name a lot for it has a background that makes sense for an Asuran Elementalist. And I also have to admit, that I like the name for other reasons too (an old video game and its main character, blue, vampire).
Razjel:
6/10.
so let’s get this straight. We are looking at one of the best marksmen, Tyria has ever seen. Proficient with rifles, always in full protective gear.
I’m talking of no other than Peacemaker Napp.
Based on modern psychology and neurology, he developped a technique to strengthen his allies by shouting sentences like “for great justice!” and is bringing his research into practical use as we speak.
The mob has spoken and the turrets shall be burnt at the stake.
Peacemaker Napp.
I like it 7/10
I made a Family of Asura.
Zizi Lightningcraft, Asuran Engineer
Her Brother Kuko Lightningcraft, Asuran Guardian
And the Black Sheep cousin Tuti Lightningcraft, Theif
Once I decided on the surname i was limited to 4 character first name- but I’m pretty happy with my choices.
Oooh, one with a story.
Give you 9/10 for that.
Mine is:
Yoda I am not.
Kinda lame, I know. But there’s a story to it. When I rolled an asura, I got bored by the conventional race/profession pairings (i.e. norn are hunters, charr are straight-on warlike, sylvari are nature/life lovers, and asura are brains over brawn type of guys). So I rolled him into a warrior. As a joke, I wanted to name him Yoda, but can’t.
So it’s Yoda I am not.
I actually made a background story around such a name.
My name. Well I remember it.
Years pass. Training of padawans I have done. A long time, it seemed.
Fighting for peace, compassion and life, I did so.
Embrace the sleep and the Force, ready, I was.
However, cut short eternal slumber was for me.
Shrouded in Mists, I was awoken.
Save the Force, my new duty is.
From those that consume the Force itself.
Yoda. I am not.
No longer shall I carry that name.
Strange and hostile this new world is, fear I do not feel.
For my ally is the Force, and such a powerful ally it is.
Bah. Nit-pick at your own pleasure.
- Sir Edward Gibbon
Yoda I am not… I like it! It’s very clever.
My asura elementalist is called Ixmay. Looking at it now, I wish I spelled it Ixxmae or something closer to an Asuran name. She’s my main, so I came up with it on a whim at one am the morning the servers went live. I’m still surprised at how much fun it is to play an asura.
Sages Lost Intrigues [SLI]
Maguuma
As a GW newcomer at GW2, with no lore knowledge…
Ixmay I like, although I now understand the double-letter thing. I still think it works.
Grabbed my Asuran Engineer very early to ensure I got the name I wanted. On reflection I could’ve added a double somewhere – and maybe a ‘the’ for middle name (or even reversed the first and last names), but I’m still happy with…
Gizmo Urzatron
sounds cool and werry engineer like
im Master Aevvi
