Whenever my Asura draws his weapon, his ears go up, like I’m standing in an updraft. It’s kinda clever, but it also kinda annoying.

Is this the case for all Asura ear styles? I’m using the large “chewed edges” style.

Yes. I think it’s their body language, which I love totally :P

No, No, No! Mummified flesh on the left! Dried bones on the right!

Yes. They have very expressive ears. It’s good design.

Their ears stand up more when you use a staff specifically. Try using other weapons and you’ll realize they don’t go up that high. Also, smaller ears don’t go up as high.

It’s a sign of interest and alertness. Most mammals do this.

It’s a shame you’re ignoring your storyline. :P

And yes, all ear styles move upwards during combat. The smaller ears don’t move as much as the larger ones though.

They all go up in combat. Its part of their combat stance.

Lore-wise, I imagine its similar to how many animals’ ears react in different situations. Like a cats ears flattening down when it becomes aggressive, except in this case their ears perk up.

Gameplay-wise, I imagine it may have been a choice to help alevieate clipping to a degree. Put the ears up and out of the way so you don’t have swords swinging through them and the like.

Either way, I quite like the ears going up while in combat. Its a nice little detail.
