Changing Outside Sources of Reveal
I like this idea. It would seem like something that benefits both parties.
However it would need a clear visual indicator so Thieves know they have been marked.
This worked in WoW because damage removed a target from stealth which would then make the Rogue lose a ton of defense and have to use a costly cooldown to avoid dying.
This mechanic in GW2 would do nothing because the Thief would remain stealthed just ‘visible’, would still be able to backstab and use all their stealth mechanics (regen etc)?
The point of Sic ‘Em was to counter stealth so the Thief was put on the defensive. If being forced out of stealth for 4 additional seconds than the Thief originally planned for is too much then swap in utility skills that don’t revolve around stealth (roll for initiative for example).

Because someone knowing exactly where thief is even though he is stealthed and blasting all he has into thief doesn’t put him into defensive. Oh yeah it does.

And not microscopic buff/debuff icons that we currently have. They might fit into minimalistic UI this game has, but other then that THEY ARE TERRIBLE. Yes, I said it. We need larger, movable buff/debuff icons with clearly visible numeric timers without having to slide mouse over it.

If someone gets hit with a BACKstab while the thief is visible, that is more of an indicator that the person needs to work on their movement skills.
Overall, I think the idea is really good. Look at it this way…. would you rather have a thief use a stealth skill and you can still see them, or would you rather they wait a few seconds and then go invisible. This change will make it a lot easier to fight thieves.

The reality is, you can kill most of these qqers purely by auto attacking and strafing around them.
