I’ve come to the conclusion that arena-net just doesn’t give a kitten anymore. There isn’t any excuse. Something should have been done over a month ago. Instead we have red posts talking about buffing the active on healing signet before nerfing the passive. There are so many reasons why heal sig is the best heal in the game by far and there’s talk of a buff before a nerf can happen?

Coming from some.one who plays a mesmer lol. Talk about easy mode. He is right what it comes down to is people are not use to having to actualy use skill to defeat warriors. Here try this exercise. Wright down all the classes and how much % they beat u and why
Ill give u a example.

Warriors – 50% – stunns
Thieves- 65% – stealth
Ele – 45% – steady dps
Gaurd – 55% – boons
Mesmer – 60% – clones
Ranger – 50% – kite (65% to spirit rangers
Necro – 50% – fear/hvy condi pressure
Engi – 60% – boons

Answer the truth and u will realize that warriors are not as elite as you think.

Elementalist- 5%- Burst
Engineer- 50%- Area Control and Conditions
Guardian- 10%- Good High-Damage Guards
Necro- 30%- That kittening Signet of Spite
Mesmer- 40%- High Damage
Ranger- 5%- They’re those annoying as kitten Spirit Rangers.
Thieves- 20%- they get the drop on me and I can’t recover quickly enough for whatever reason
Warrior- 50%- insane lengths/numbers of stuns, immobilize/bleed from LB 5, and heavy tankiness from HealSig, heavy armor, and the high base health of warriors

The only reason why Warrior isn’t higher up is because most of the people that play it are just downright awful in general, mostly because Warrior is the easiest class in the game to play and get into.

Also, I doubt the above numbers are entirely correct, but I certainly don’t think that I have a loss rate of above 50% against any of those classes. I based this off of XvX fights where both sides had equal numbers. I can certainly say that some of those classes, like Guard, Ele, and Ranger, are probably extremely close to the listed percentages as a result of class design being faulty (though guardian less so than the other two; it’s only so low because there aren’t a ton of people that run DPS guards).

So all that aside, not sure what your point is, except that you’re clearly a godawful player at worst and a mediocre one at best if all of your percentages are that high.

Warriors are killable, you just have to understand the class and layout you’re fighting. There are some really sturdy builds out there that make it difficult to beat 1v1 but it’s doable. I won’t disagree the Healing Signet could use a slight tone down but I really think warriors are almost in a good spot for most builds and would rather see Anet bring classes up to warrior’s level than just swing the nerf bat. I know there is still way too much work to be done on the other classes.

I have my dislikes about the warrior but they are not related to the Healing Signet. My suggestion was adjust the base passive down but increase the healing power coefficient to allow bunker warriors to keep the strength of the signet while making the healing signet less powerful for warrior not investing in healing power.

Minion master zerk necroes, thieves that know how to abuse stealth and blind, perplexity engineers and retaliation guardians. All of those classes can down you in seconds if played by a decently skilled player. Healing signet is the only thing that makes warrior viable in spvp without it they are going back to the kill pinata of other classes. what kills other players is not the warrior the other 3 people bursting them as the warrior draws attention and and lays down stuns. Its called team play not imbalance.

The biggest problem is IMO is actually the active heal. If we reduce the passive without doing something to make the active useful, we are just creating a different problem. Truly the active on this skill right now is in the following place. When I see someone press it I think “No No No don’t do that!” We are discussion some options here so if you want this to be constructive give suggestions towards improving the active. Reducing the passive is easy to do but we will not do it without solving the other problem. Also we will not greatly reduce it because it is giving Warriors a sense of sturdiness that we want their profession to have. Without strong heals, Warriors feel too much like everyone else. Setting them apart with strong heals has been good for changing their playstyle feel, but we agree it needs some tweaks.

You are showing an awful lot of concern about nerfing a healing skill that is universally considered too strong, yet you’re willing to nerf vampiric master without a second glance despite the fact that siphoning is already in a weak place. Why are you making the warrior’s sustain better but nerfing the necromancer’s? Is the warrior gonna be the king of both damage and sustain?

That is because they afraid to nerf the class they play. This is what happens when you allow Devs to play what ever class they want – They should have had 8 devs all with a different class. You can bet we would have A LOT more balance in the game then.

But no, they stick to one class and would rather kill the game off and nerf every other class into the ground and turn this game into Warrior Wars 2: Return of The Warrior than to actually BALANCE all the classes evenly.

Guess what is happening to Necro MM getting nerfs, nerfs, nerfs. I guess the Devs got annoyed at losing against them. The Devs – Killing the game, one spec at a time until only warrior is played.

Your inane defense of heal sig has officially jumped into fantasy land. For one, there are no perplexity runes in PvP so I assume you’re talking about WvW which is NOT PvP. For two, DPS retal guards are piles of kitten with substantially less sustain and general use than warriors. Three, none of these classes have anything to do with warriors being too strong with healing signet.

I am all for bringing Healing Signet down to a level where Poison won’t quite be needed to defeat their sustain, provided that warriors also have other healing options available that are not for the profession, absolute garbage.

Looking at Healing Signet, the lowest I think it can reliably go before Warriors themselves start seeing themselves back over a year ago would be around 320-325 HPS, or another 40 per second more than what A-Net came up with.

Compensation-wise, the active on it needs to go up sharply since it would be a last-resort to activate it, and the healing power ratio on it could go up a tad so only warriors specced into full healing power can elevate them back to the sustain you see now on every warrior.

However….

Defiant Stance…super situational, and it has not really been out in the field long enough for me to cast a firm judgment. So far, its unpopular thanks to Healing Signet. (Kind of fun to Troll glass thieves with though, Stances and Mastery make for a funny build.)

As much as I appreciate your considered opinion and that of your colleagues Ostrich, Warriors are still in need of a lot of help MECHANICALLY in the healing department as opposed to NUMBERS.

Healing signet is the only thing that makes warrior pvp viable to the point where some on cannot just walk up to you and burst you in 2 3 skills like before and/or load you up with condi. People need to man up and admit that they need to play better on their part. They can no longer roll face to apply 20 conditions, of nuke from 1200 range and thats where the tears are coming from. Every class has a hard counter for fighting a warrior right now, people just need to be willing to switch up their skills/traits and USE THEM during battles, poison confusion fear/interrupts are there for a reason and honestly as long as you are able to look at player buffs you can tell when to toss them on 8 seconds on berserker stance is not forever, and one condition outdoes the signets healing. Just 1 use your freaking skills and change out of that generic spvp spec, spvp esp team arena is about team play as well as being a skillful player on your own. just because you couldn’t burst some one on a cap 1v1 wasn’t because they have a healing signet.

Healing signet is the only thing that makes warrior pvp viable to the point where some on cannot just walk up to you and burst you in 2 3 skills like before and/or load you up with condi. People need to man up and admit that they need to play better on their part. They can no longer roll face to apply 20 conditions, of nuke from 1200 range and thats where the tears are coming from. Every class has a hard counter for fighting a warrior right now, people just need to be willing to switch up their skills/traits and USE THEM during battles, poison confusion fear/interrupts are there for a reason and honestly as long as you are able to look at player buffs you can tell when to toss them on 8 seconds on berserker stance is not forever, and one condition outdoes the signets healing. Just 1 use your freaking skills and change out of that generic spvp spec, spvp esp team arena is about team play as well as being a skillful player on your own. just because you couldn’t burst some one on a cap 1v1 wasn’t because they have a healing signet.

Every other alternative heal, an issue NO other profession has right now, is broken on the warrior. Healing Surge isn’t a strategically planned heal as much as it is the only heal in game to PENALIZE you for using it right. And for the kind of burst heal it provides considering the heal pool, at the very least the numbers across all adrenaline levels need to go up 10%! The healing power however is fine on this skill.

Mending is outdated as a condition cleanse by what you already know about the warrior traits and utilities, and the healing is laughable. It needs a nice rework.

Defiant Stance…super situational, and it has not really been out in the field long enough for me to cast a firm judgment. So far, its unpopular thanks to Healing Signet. (Kind of fun to Troll glass thieves with though, Stances and Mastery make for a funny build.)

I’m at my wits end

They are about to lose 30~ hps, bringing it below that of Mesmers and Engineers wherein (for the engineer case) there is also innate, condition removal on a 16/20s cooldown.

Poison is going to hurt even more, and Sigils are getting reworked on cooldowns/effects, so who knows where SoDoom is going to end up.

Some of the posts here are comparing apple with orange.

It is weird to think in only one perspective. Why can’t people see it the other way round. It is not that warrior is strong but the other (specific) classes are underpowered.

To give a proper example.
A mesmer can damage and kill a ele, fast enough.
A warrior can also damage and kill a ele, but not that fast enough.
A mesmer and warrior can have a almost even fight where reactions and targeting become critical aka players skills.

So, right now TS is saying healing signet is overpower but if that is the case, then even fight shouldn’t exist. Warrior should be able to kill every classes of any builds with EASE. Yet, that isn’t really the case, there are classes where warriors will have difficulties dealing with.

One dont simply fix something by breaking other things.

How is that even a remotely compelling argument? 33% of the ENTIRE heal is lost when poisoned while using it. Therefore 5 seconds of poison will give you only 67% of your heal over the whole 30 second cooldown of the skill. Being poisoned for 5 seconds with healing signet? You lose 33% over a whole 5 seconds, which over the same 30 seconds amounts to about 5.5% of a loss in potential health gain.

Don’t forget that all of these arguments involve only strictly cases where Adrenaline is at the peak for the strongest Surge heal. Which is situational, and entirely based around said warrior not using any of his burst abilities which is atrocious design.

Healing Surge is never going to be popped every single time at 30s.
