Some skills are a reference to Guild Wars 1

Warrior – Gladiator’s defense
[Stance] You block all “melee” attacks for a period of time and retaliate to your attacker.

Cast time: Instant
Duration: 10 seconds
Radius: 130
Cooldown: 60 seconds
Note’s: Does not sync with defiance stance, can stack duration with “sure footed” trait.

Guardian – Rebirth:
Revives 1 fallen (defeated-not downed) ally with 75% health and bring him/her next to you in melee range. Skill losses success-rate the more the skill is used during the fight.

1st cast: 100% success rate;
2nd cast: 75% success rate;
3rd cast: 50% success rate;
4th cast: 25% success rate;
5th+ cast: 0% success rate;

Cast time: 2,5 seonds
Duration: -
Range: 1200
Cooldown: 180 seconds
Note’s: Losses success-rate the more the skill is used during the same fight

Thief – Shadow Sanctuary
[Deception] You gain: +200 toughness, protection, regen, aegis and “health regen”. Blind foes around you. You are blinded as well, ends when you try to attack.

Cast time: instant
Duration: 6 seconds
Range: 600
Cooldown: 150 seconds
Note’s: “health regen” is equal to halve of the health regen a player would gain when he/she gets out of combat.

Engineer – Elixer A.Z.
[Elixer] You gain all boons during a period of time.

Cast time: 0.5 seonds
Duration: 12 seconds
Range: -
Cooldown: 120-150 seconds
Note’s: Sync’s with elixer traits

Ranger – “I Will Survive!”
[Shout] Remove all conditions and converts them to a boon.

Bleeding—>Regen
Vulnerability—>Protection
Cripple—>Swiftness
Chilled—>Haste
Stun—>Stability
Daze—>Retaliation
Poison—>Fury
Weakness—>Vigor

Cast time: Instant
Duration: -
Radius: -
Cooldown: 150 seconds
Note’s: Gain be buffed with “shout” traits

Necromancer – Mark Of The Vampire
[Mark] Places a mark around you that last for a period of time, using “life-drain” on all creatures that stand within your mark. Unblock-able

Cast time: 1 second
Duration: 10 seconds
Radius: 180
Cooldown: 150 seconds
Note’s: Gain be buffed with the right traits.

Elementalist – Ward against harm
Creates a protective field around you that protects you and allies from incoming damage and gives a boon to you and allies depending on your current active attunement that are standing within this field. Damage reduction 15-20%.

Obtained boon:
Fire: Fury/Might;
Water: Regen/Aegis
Air: Haste/Vigor
Earth: Stability/Protection

Cast time: 2 seconds
Duration: 10 seconds
Radius: 600
Cooldown: 150 seconds
Note’s: Note sure if the player/allies should get both boons per attunement or just 1 boon.

Mesmer – Illusionary Weaponry
For a period of time you inflict extra damage to your target with each attack. Unblock-able

Cast time: Instant
Duration: 8 seconds
Range/Radius: Depends on main-hand weapon
Cooldown: 80 seconds
Note’s: “Extra damage” is equal to the damage of 1 “auto attack” on skill 1: main-hand, including critical chance.

I like these, some are weak, some seem okay. But the idea is basically that they are more powerful Utilities. The only thing is, the skills that interact with boons/conditions, Stun and daze are not conditions, just as Haste is not a boon.

While we’re on the concept of new Elite ideas:

Friend or Foe – Mesmer Elite
Hex all enemies in the target area, causing them to become unable to tell friend from foe for a short duration. They will perceive everyone as an enemy, though they will not be able to cause harm to targets which are their allies.
Duration: 6 seconds
Number of targets: 5
Cooldown: 90 seconds
What happens is that all enemies hit can only see “Illusionary foe” over any player character, who all look like a Phantasm of the Mesmer with a mesmer-version of the weapon type they’re holding. They will seemingly be able to harm them, but no debuffs still and no damage sticks. Health steadily moves up and down though so it’s difficult to tell who you are affecting and who you are not hitting.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

I like these, some are weak, some seem okay. But the idea is basically that they are more powerful Utilities. The only thing is, the skills that interact with boons/conditions, Stun and daze are not conditions, just as Haste is not a boon.

My mistake about the haste not being a boon. But the idea is: chill makes you activate slower, while haste makes your skills activate faster. So I tough it would be a nice counter-meassure on the “chilled” condition.

OP maybe, yes. But this just a suggestion. Maybe the block duration should be around 7-9 seconds, but still be able to get buffed by the " sure footed" trait. And you only block “melee” attacks, ranged and spells excluded.

I like this idea, whoever I’am worried about the concept about boons/conditions being applied by foes when they see “everyone is alike”.

The idea is to bring back “Shadow Sanctuary” from GW1. It still ends when you make any attempt to attack. And I agree that it seems OP.

Another Warrior 60 second cd elite… no thanks. Why is it that Warriors/Thieves/Necromancers are allowed to have 60 second cool-downs?

Take a look at Rangers/Elementalists/Engineers; our elites range from 120-180 seconds, whereas Guardians/Mesmers have elites that go from 90-210 seconds (210s mesmer only.)

Another thing I’d like to say is with all these long elite times the 6/6 elite runes are kinda useless. I tried them and won’t be using them again, there’s no point if I’m waiting 150-180 seconds for the main sh#t to pop up while fighting 1 vs whatever number.

The best new Ele elite is obviously going into the Avatar state.

Stopping attuenments and wielding all the elements at once to crush your enemies!!

And the necro one the OP mentioned should be a well instead of a mark and should siphoning 3% life force per target per pulse while doing damage equal to or greater than well of suffering.

A mesmer idea I had is based on the psionicist time loop skill from allods online. Its called mantra of time, and using it would allow you to move to teleport to the location you were at 10 seconds ago, and with the health and cooldowns, and boons and conditions you had on you at that time, essentially resetting your own time a bit using that skill. It would be excellent for disengaging and strategically repositioning and can also be used as a pusedo heal cleanse or to do more with burst. The only issue would be with clones/phantasms which the class in the game I’m basing it off of didn’t exactly have in the same way. So maybe using the mantra to go back in time would destroy all a illusions? That could also keep from being too offensively overpowered on phantasm builds.

Yeah that Ranger elite is the exact same as an existing guardian move, Contemplation of Purity.

A non elite, and with only a 60 second recharge, and with a trait the cool down drops to 48.

The only difference is what some of the conditions are converted to.

No they wouldn’t actually apply anything. That’d be one way to find out that you’re targeting an actually friendly target, too.

Elementalists really need a fifth signet, and an earth themed elite.

Signet of Tectonics
Passive: Apply a stack of bleeding whenever you deal damage (1 second CD) or apply a cripple (no CD) regardless of your attunement.

@ Zacchary. I totally disagree with the engi elite. I got something way better for that.

Condimancer supply crate: Works like the supply crate but instead of turrets you get 6 lvl 85 condimancer npcs with 40k health that are hostile to the engineer. If you deploy the crate you apply 10 daze on yourself.
