So I got the Mask of the Night last night on my Ranger. This item is very interesting and very different than any other skin in the game. Rather than applying the skin of the mask to the stats of another item it takes the stats of another item onto its skin. What is the significance of this difference? Apparently it can take the stats of any armor value. The Mask is very obviously light armor, but I as a medium armor user am still able to apply it to my big floppy hat. I didn’t, but I could if I wanted.
This means that ANet has just implemented a way for people who want to wear an armor type outside of their class to have that ability. The question simply becomes, how far will they go with this.
I’d rather get one skin that three different physical helmets (Dragon Bash) or non-ascendable back items
I think what they did with the mask is quite nice. (And I am glad it is not a backpiece again, we have so many of that).
So next year can we get a pumpkin head mask please=
