Not being prude, I am doing the achievements.

But, doesn’t this send the wrong message about drinking, as for some its not a game at all.

An alternate achievement might be in better socially acceptable to some.

I thought about it when Keg Brawls came out and was like huh, ok.

But 2 achievements chained together with multiple achievement points attached to a drinking game….I don’t know

Everyone in the past drink watered down beer. Because water sources were to polluted to drink water.

Maybe the game world is the same way.

You’re referring to a game that involves killing hordes of creatures
You can buy alcohol in bulk for an achievement which is stupidly long (thirst slayer)

While younger players can play the game, this is not a Nintendo title. Nor should it be legislated like Saints Row IV in Australia.

Hm, you are drinking raw omnomberry juice wich isn’t alcohol as far as I know. It is also stated that it is bad for your health (thus causing damage).

To be honest I’m more conflicted when I’m slaying grawl and they are yelling desperatly “Someone help me!”.

All of you missed the point, its the context, don’t change the subject.

My only problem with Belcher’s Bluff is that the belches themselves are pathetic and should be real belches.

That is changing the subject.

The above answers were perfectly valid and on the point, especially Bubi’s.

The context is a setting with Norn who are well known for drinking (fitting the Norn is the toughest opponent) and bars in every major city. People also can have problems with gambling, anger management and other things that could be considered as encouraged or approved within the context of the game. I don’t think a game with a clear statement it has alcohol use as part of its lore is going to contribute to the real life issues with alcohol that some people have. Those issues are not caused by games about drinking alcohol to excess, they are caused by real life drinking to excess.

(I’m not even sure the omnomberry juice is true alcohol as stated above, it is juice with toxic properties. That taken into consideration, I don’t think people are going to be encouraged to poison themselves with the juice of toxic berries for amusement because of this drinking game.)

Successful opportunism is often indistinguishable from a masterful plan.

Umm I wouldn’t really worry about it…I mean kinda as stated before, this game is kinda about killing and stuff, which personally is a bit worse on my moral compass than y’know, drinking..And actually yeah historically, people drank alcohol because it wasn’t safe to drink water. So if this is being set like that sort of a setting, drinking would be pretty normal anyways. And while this isn’t an overly violent or inappropriate game, it still probably isn’t for real young crowds. And to be honest, as a college student, I’m one of the youngest people that I know in gw2.

Right, drinking is bad, ok so let’s ban fighting & killing their bad too! Maybe you would just be happy with just a jumping game!

Jumping around on (and off) cliffs is bad for you, too.

As a general rule, you shouldn’t do anything in real life that you do in guildwars.

Obviously kegs store beer and should thus be removed from the game. As should this mini-game because everyone who plays is about to be consumed with the overwhelming urge of going out to drink their life away. All the mugs should be removed too and replaced with Disney kiddy cups.

Seriously, Anet uses RNG for 90% of everything they do which is a form of gambling. People drink every day every where. This game is filled to the brim with all sorts of corruption, stealing, laziness and what ever vices you could imagine. Please leave political correctness out of the fantasy world, it should not exist here, nor should it at all.
