IMO this is another jumping puzzle.
Yes it is. Its very fun.
Yeah if you like Jumping puzzles than its fun, to each their own.

Hmm strange, It’s fun for me.
It’s okay but frankly I’m tired of the only permanent content we get is jumping puzzles. Talk about only giving content to a certain section of their gamer base. Anet could do with looking at how many jumping puzzles there are in comparison to dungeons and balance it out.
I don’t even enjoy these that much but play them as its the only content their sending my way. Also did i see some where again about Obsidian Sanctum being used again for a pve achievement? Did they just ignore the masses of complaints to do with griefing due to cache being there for Aetherblades?
Yeah there is another achievement tied in to doing the EB puzzle. I guess Anet really likes ganking players, or watching people get ganked. But really its only an achievement that you dont need to do and if you really want to than you can use the fountains for stealth, get a port up, run during slow hours, or go with a group.

I don’t like jumping puzzles I stear clear of them for a very good reason, I am just not good at it, never have been and never will be in any game, ive had to rely on the kindness of mesmers from time to time for my coordination isn’t the best for this content(and if I had of known there was going to be so much jp content in gw2 ide of perhaps thought twice about getting it), now I waypoint over to this new content looking for a nice relaxing time and to enjoy some new scenery and what do I get slapped in the face with… What makes this even worse is im a max size norn which are renown for having a hard time with jp content.. Can you please, please for the love of all the gods just make some content that doesn’t involve jumping around like an absolute fool all the time.

The majority of the zone seems accessible without jumping – some of the achievements are not, but the zone itself seems to mostly just used the dash and the pull.
I have one question for you:
What would you describe being fun in a game, especially this game?

World vs World is just fine thank you. The standard reason we get for no new maps for WvW is that “making maps is hard work”, but they can pull this sort of bullkitten out of their kitten every couple of weeks.

Kind of suck that you don’t get achievement if you kill lot’s of enemies in EB puzzle.

I agree with the opening post, what we get is another bunch of jumping puzzles and achievements that involve doing more jumping puzzles, and no storyline. I hope they add something resembling a storyline later, till then i am not interested in this “Living Story Content”. Some people see this as fun, to each their own. That the usual trolls appeared in this thread as well does not come as a surprise.
No, it is very fun.
It’s sad Anet can’t come up with something more than just more jumping puzzles. If this an example of the new content, it may be time to just wait for a real expansion pack.
What would be more fun, just about anything but, more jumping around crap.
- Some new WvW maps and better game play.
- Investigate and solve crimes.
- How about some better role playing, meet and team up with NPCs to do things.
- Bounty Hunting, bad guys of the week, to hunt down across different lands.
- Hunting for specific creatures of the week for hides and rewards.
- Events that require some logic, not just twitching fingers.
- Play a Traveling merchant, buy/sell things at different prices across towns/cities on different maps.
- Escort caravans across different maps.
- Find missing NPC’s
- Rent yourself out as a body guard to traveling NPC’s
While I think that most of the new area is a giant JP I did like the racing mini game. It was fun in a mario cart kinda way.
I loved GW1 for the dungeons and I really expected GW2 to live up that type of gameplay. The Molten dungeon was awesome and probably the most fun I have had in a dungeon in the entire game.
I will probably log in for the dailies do a few metas and wait till next month to see what they have up their sleeves.

I think I’m going to have to agree on the OP with this.
I’m sick and tired of jumping puzzles everywhere. I can’t do them at all, and it seems all Anet wants to do is release them. Yes, I get it. We can now jump in GW2. Wonderful. But let’s not revolve all your content around jumping.
So now I can’t even get the meta achievement cause we have to get all 16 for it, and most of them require jumping puzzles.
I am so sick of jumping puzzles. I guess this game is just not for me anymore if this is the direction Anet is going.

Seemed like a blast to me.
I didn’t get a chance to check out the rest of the cheevs because of work, but I know the JP is not everything in this patch. Not even close.

I agree, all they ever add is jumping puzzles.
It would be nice if they did something for people who like other aspects of the game, maybe something like:
- A new PvP map
- New mini games
- Something to show for all our achievement points (besides titles)
- A reason to explore the overworld again, some sort of scavenger hunt (not necessarily the precursor one, we could be looking for anything, just a reason to explore)
- New world bosses and DE chains
- New guild missions
- Something new for WvW, like environmental effects we can trigger
- A way to customise PvP matches and watch other peoples
- Something to reward WvW players and give them a sense of progression
- A way to compare our progress in all aspects of the game to other players, guilds and servers so we can see how we’re really doing
- Something to make dailies rewarding
- New dungeons, maybe a really kittene with some new mechanics that won’t be face-rolled right away by experienced groups
- New item skins and items, maybe even new tiers if it won’t make too many people angry
But no, all we ever get is jumping puzzles.

I was about to reply with the fact that they added all that already, then I saw this. 10/10 post.
So im presuming that all living story here in will be jump puzzle related, most jump puzzle players have already blitzed tho this its those of us that hate jump puzzles I suppose we can always hope the next one gives us something to do.
Oh and in the meantime make those waypoints free if you fall to your death, even some of the sky crystals dont even have a way back once you dropped down to them and you have no choice but to waypoint out. (i know its only 1.39 but its soon adds up if your crap like me)
I love this place, I haven’t played it that much but already got alot of achievements and the jumps and “puzzles” doesn’t seem that hard, it’s just an extra flawour of traversing the map. Doing the climbing thing is like one of many achievement’s and another one is again to revisit old JP’s… And one that I hate so I won’t get that achievment.
Y’know what I noticed when I looked through the Achievments panel? Unfinnished achievments from old Living stories does not show! I love that!
Don’t worry to much, some of you who are complaining seems to be WvW players and well you got your piece of the cookie two or three updates ago, and there will be more, also there has been changes for WvW players in every update atm so as a few posters above me has stated, ’It’s realy not only jumping puzzles that is permanent’.
Oh by the way, it’s realy neat looking and beautiful sceenery for me it is realy a wow! moment, love walking around looking on all details.

The first part of this backs up what i have said… that most jump puzzle players have indeed already finished (what are all of you gonna do now for another 2 weeks?)
And yep the WvW update was so awesome that we feel we must come and destroy your fun too. (Go read the WvW forums to see how great that was)
I’m a jumping master.
I fly all over the place.
How does this content make it’s way around the studio without somebody standing up and saying “HEY, ENOUGH WITH THE STUPID JUMPING PUZZLES ALREADY!!”
edit
Ok, so I was a bit harsh. (everything looks amazing, like always)
Much better job with this jumping content than before, and the story is great.
If this is an example of Anet moving away from jumping puzzles. good job, keep it up.
It’s hard to put my finger on it but it seems that the delivery comes off confusing or misleading. The content does grow on you after awhile.
end edit
You have proven you can do jumping puzzles like no other company.
You don’t have to prove yourself anymore.
You should try and do something different before your CUSTOMERS leave.
You should stand up to the person who tells you that JP’s are a good thing.
Sorry, this is not very constructive or informative, yet it is an OPINION of one of YOUR CUSTOMERS.
Have a good day.

Is this about sanctum sprint?
I don’t normally complain but I will say the last two additions having a requirement that you have to go through a JP to get anywhere is too much. I spent 25 silver to rez myself trying to get to all the crystals. They should make the waypoints not cost anything if you are going to have to jump everywhere to get to the crystals.
An entire area where I have to use special commands to get anywhere is tiresome. Don’t get me started on the new nodes.

New PvP map: Skyhammer
New mini game: moa racing (it’s not really something you control but still)
WvW: New upgrades
New… oh wait, you were being sarcastic.
Just got on to check this place out, yeah, I hate this place.
It is all a big jumping puzzle content… thing.
Whether that’s good or bad is very subjective, but I am honestly surprised at how much jumping is here. I spent most of the day getting sky crystals, jumping and falling and dying and dying and falling and jumping and then some more dying. I finally finally got all 40 that I needed, and I’m ready to move onto the other content… which is hooray! More jumping!
Urf.
The Labyrinthine Cliffs is a beautiful, well done area. I’m very much impressed with the scenery, the characters, the levels (this is what I originally imagined Cantha to be like when they described “fighting on the roof tops”). I’d forgotten how much I enjoy exploring new areas, and this place was great for that.
But holy cheese weasels I’m tired of jumping.
Did people forget that so far, 2 out of the 3 finished Living Story arcs (F&F, SoS, DB/Aether) introduced a dungeon?
…and then they were removed. Stupidity if you ask me.

Well, yea, and this jumping stuff will be removed too. The point is though that they have introduced stuff that’s non-jumping for the Living Story.
I hate jump puzzles. I’m terrible at them for several reasons. About the only ones I can do on a regular basis are the ones in LA. Even then I manage to die about 25% of the time in the pirate one LOL.
I wonder if the idea is that jump puzzles are something everyone can do without having to group up or be maxed out on level and gear? Unfortunately it sounds like I won’t be completing this meta if it is a giant jump puzzle. I was looking forward to getting that node in my home instance too. Oh well.

The sooner this goes, the better but I don’t understand why they removed the F&F dungeon. It was universally popular, even if it was just a bit too long for my tastes.
That place also had it’s semi-JP in the weapons testing area where you had to stand in exactly the right spot and jump when the shock/dmg waves were about to hit you. That wasn’t really necessary and only served to make the whole dungeon last longer.
With Anet this stuff is turning into a formula, and the JP is always there. A lot of us are getting pretty sick of it.
GW2 has to have the biggest community of whiners I’ve ever seen. No matter what forum I go to there are always babies crying about how awful this game is. For $60 there cannot possibly be a game out there with close to the content of this game.
Very interesting area, though I have not been able to get beyond the Wind Adept. Maybe I am not figuring out where to make the leap from to get to the first platform and have died a lot in the great fall from there. Thanks to good folk down below, I and others have been rezzed several times and keep trying. Nice assortment of champions along the way has moved my monthly right along and good veterans to slay enroute to my next attempt past the Wind Adept. That is about all I can say about it so far. Hopefully will make more progress than this though I tend to be not good at jumping puzzles as a rule…. I do want to make the high dive so it is a goal to get to where I can do that. Hope springs eternal…
This will challenge me so willing to see how far I can get.

I have to agree, the forums can be pretty frustrating.
I really don’t see this content sticking around though, at least not being made permanent for a while. ANet put a lot into the Living Story being a central part of this game, and believe it or not there are a ton of people that actually love it. It’s not meant to be something that sticks around, that’s the whole point. They may deviate from it later on, but if they changed the whole concept now they would not only look inconsistent, but the decision would upset as many, if not more people than are upset now.
after failing so much and burning through my 2 gold in way points, i have now forgotten WHY i am doing this content. another jump puzzle i was okay with – its a new zone, and some new content. what i don’t like is that i have to revisit OTHER jump puzzles, after suffering through them the first time.
also, wvw/EB JP – worst revisit ever, since kaineng is now 3rd place (or lower by now). sitting at 10/16 and wondering what to do now. running bribe-age is at 2 ectos per JP

This. You don’t like JPs, there’s other changes….. What about when all they had were dungeons and people who like JPs were shafted? Or when they added WvW updates and SPvP people got nothing? They’re getting a bit of everything to everyone as quickly as they can. There’s PLENTY of good stuff going on.
Yes it is. Its very fun.
Especially with lags that started like a week ago… it’s a nightmare using those skills I die 100 times per hour and run naked becouse of the skills missing the point or just hit some invisible walls idk sometimes my character just appears 3 times in mid air in different place and than it’s dead on the ground so yes… reeeeeeeal fun.
