I don’t see the point of taking this map away once the month is over. For me its like a small escape back to Cantha. I know a lot of people might disagree but I liked the vertical feel and the way one moves around the city, as do a lot of people.
It begs the question why we are going to be locked out of it in a month when its a place on the world map. Sure the ship is going to take off but couldn’t they use the map itself as sort of home base for the NPC we are going to be voting on, mean the captains all have a place they run away to right? Elen Kiel could have lionguard stationed there as they make it a port city on the other side of the straight of devastation, giving the players a launching pad into the mountains or a way to the coast of the crystal desert.
Evon could probably do the same but with a more pirate twist to it, what would make him look better then having a private docks to ship goods from and the such. With so little new areas on the map besides south sun, which is not that interesting, I myself rarely go there less there is some form of event tied to it.
Just kinda burns my kitten that we get an area that everyone enjoys, with a mini game that is actually fun, a springboard area for other stories. And it gets flushed down the toilet to be locked away. Sure the ship putters off but that doesn’t mean you have to take everything away, I’d like to see my map progress to fill in more areas on the land mass and get away from Loin’s Arch once in a while….Its not Rome not all roads lead there.
So yeah my rant, hopefulyl Anet sees this and the other threads and changes their mind.
