Will we be able to vote on who becomes the next council member? In the real world, people in those positions are usually voted in by the public. If you want to make player actions have an impact on the world, then this would be the perfect start to doing so. In terms of lore, our characters are a large part of the society inhabiting Tyria. I can’t really think of any reason why this wouldn’t be a good course of action…

That would be a cool living story concept. Have a campaign and let the players vote for NPCs the staff has designed (propaganda and all). Though I don’t think the voting could run very long because it would hamper their ability to keep making content relating to the on-going story if they don’t know who will win.

Of course, not sure if council members are voted in and ANet may already have the story planned out for that. But it was a nice idea at least!

Yeah I have a feeling there won’t be a vote, and Ellen will get the position, But I actually prefer Evon and I’ve only seen him speak a short line in a cutscene.

Considering this particular story is about who gets a seat I just felt that having a vote would be good. Or at least have players pick who to help secure the contract, then tally up how many helped Evon and how many helped Kiel. The highest could then get the seat and this outcome treated as canon to the story.

I’d like something like this. It would draw players into the story emotionally. And it would be something that really speaks for the living story concept. ANet have the opportunity to be somewhat flexible here.

Of course, Evon should win. Kiel is all like “omg, something’s happening. Better deputize the PC while I open doors and get oneshot”
