The outfit looks nice. kind of reminds me of GW1, but…

it is 1 piece, and you can not dye it. I will pass.
I thought they would learn their lesson about outfits like this.

You can dye it.

You can use it in any character, really worth.
Just bought it yesterday, so Anet, let’s make a pact! You guys create more cute clothes and i can buy more gems. =p

Just contact CS, if you want a refund for your gems because the clipping issues werent visible in the preview window, when you bought it.

Good idea… I really hate it when I buy something and then end up seeing the flaws after I change the dyes

For human males, when you are running, the pants clips through the shirt.

Hmmm, I notice that the clipping issue doesn’t happen on the hip part only, but it also happens on the collar/shoulder part if your character have certain long hair style.

It’s more than that, you can wear it in combat if you want. Goes great with the Dragon Jade weapons, and won’t break immersion too much for light and medium armour classes.

Also, you can equip it on all of your characters for no additional cost at all. Pretty amazing deal right there.

On my characters it’s clipping badly on the right hip on female humans, Sylvari and Asura. I’ve also seen it on other people’s characters. It’s a large gaping hole on the side that if it were real life, would be about the size of a hand.

Why could I use a fancy city outfit during combat as a Ranger?
This is why most of people, including me, don’t understand why is this methood better than offering these outfits as normal armor sets to mix, and townclothings aren’t exist in their place instead of the tonics. which are non customizeable at all, not even using our paintset.

1) they cost less work (less clipping issues with other armor pieces
2) they doesn t cost trasmu charges to apply.

I don t really like this, but i ll gladly have more.

What i strongly dislike is they make hard to understand professions at first glance.

Thus they doesn t work in PvP….. BUT they work in WWW -.-

Clipping issues aren’t that big problem as some people tries to yell out.
Most of the good mixed armors have some kind of clipping issues, because when someone at AN made the system, didn’t made a standard-scale to continue design armors on. This is why a lot of armor looks bigbutt and bulky, overscaled or just badly shaped.

Still it would not give us a real reason to wear them.
People aren’t even using it that mutch as some gemstore genious expected.

None but I am constantly seeing the Mad King do it.

Cooking outfit, my preferred choice for charr at the moment. And my definition for sexy when it comes to showing a female charrs legs. So outrageously skimpy!

The pirates outfit is a nice change at the moment for my usually heavy clad guardian norn. Colourful if I might say so without having a screenshot at the moment.

Tried a white dye on the mad kings outfit and was like yesss. My female human elementalist likes the fire anyways.

So 4 out of my 9 characters sport an outfit at the moment, haven’t played enough with the ancestral outfit yet to decide who might wear that.

I confess…….I broke down and bought it….just need to decide if I should use it on a asuran guard with corrupted weapons or a norn guard with corrupted weapons.

Some random hole on the side that looks like a seam ripped is intentional? It doesn’t remotely look good or sexy. Seeing as it’s only on the females and not the males I assume they meant it to be sexy, if intentional.

Dear ANet,

Normally I glance at the armors and outfits you introduce in the shop and roll my eyes. The absurdity never ends but today I log in and find this newest outfit to be very pleasing. I like it. I want it. Except you’ve designed it so I have to wear it as is and cannot mix & match it with my armor. Which is an absolute turn-off. I want my character to look like my character. I appreciate that all players have the same resources in that regard (skins in the game) but I like to be very selective and pick and choose which top I wear with which boots with which gloves and et cetera.

Your design to make oufits a single piece is actually a barrier to me giving you money, at this point. I hate the idea of spending money for gems in your game but you’ve actually (for once) come up with something that makes me want to. Except for the silly limitations you impose on the item.

Please do your players the kindness of separating outfits into pieces so we can mix and match them. You might actually see more people like myself buy things from the gemstore if we have the ability to use them the way we’d like instead of how you’d restrict us to.

a fan would be cool. whip for mesmer and a caster pistol for elementalist.

This armor is AWESOME. The fact that you can wear it for free without transmutation stones, combined with the fact that it gets unlocked for your ENTIRE account. This just makes this the best armor set in-game. At least for me. Totally worth 700 gems.

I love that too, but I’m having a hard time finding the right GS to go with. I’m a Sylvari Guardian, cosmestics is the biggest problem I have, I’m thinking in doing either a Charr Guardian or Asura because of this :/

Maybe Cerimonial, or the new WvW Weapons

My taste would be

Khrysaor, the Golden Sword (~4G)
Naga/Ceremonial as you mentioned
Priory might work depending on your colour scheme, but no idea how big on sylvari
Skybringer perhaps

Caveat emptor. I did not notice the hip clipping bug on my human before buying. I absolutely hate it and requested a refund. They responded saying they will not honor the refund. Needless to say, I will not be buying anything more from the gemstore until this gets fixed.

Did your buy the gems with real money or with ingame gold?

If real money, I’m pretty surprised at that answer and suggest you post your ticket number in the Account forum. If you bought it with ingame gold, then it’s truly caveat emptor as they apparently (from comments on other threads) can’t track purchases of gems from the mass of gems for gold. They apparently can only track purchases of gems directly bought and then purchases of items bought with these gems.

Even if they can see you bought the item (with gold for gems) they can’t give back gold as they don’t know how much gold a player used to but the gems and I suspect they can’t give you gems because the only gems support has access to is the gems bought with real money. Policy probably doesn’t allow them to exchange these for gold bought gems.

I wasn’t thrilled to find the large hole on the sides of the female outfits. :/

If you used real money, they should have given you a refund. Try posting your ticket number in the thread tickets for review-3 days and older for Gaile to look it over. Support does sometimes mess up.

According to Gaile, support was correct and I will not be receiving any refund or compensation of any kind. I am SOL. :-P
