Worth investing in? I saw the price skyrocketed today, assuming it’s only going to keep going up. Especially after the event.

As they mentioned that blade shards will be permanently available after the patch from aetherblades (and the sprocket node in home instance), i have a feeling that we might see the assault knights pop up as a world boss somewhere after the LS ends.

Price increases may have to do with the knights being bugged for a large portion of the playerbase and not dropping any loot.

I doubt it, since taking advantage of market prices which were influenced by a bug is distant enough (let alone difficult and unfair to police).

Yeah, i dont think you will get banned. I think the oversupply of Exquisite Chrysocola Jewels that built up from October to february was a result of bots farming dungeons that drop trinkets with those jewels on. I have been putting in buy orders for those trinkets for over a yearon a daily basis and starting October, i got alot of buy orders filled, hence my suspicion.
Usually i wouldnt get more than 10 buy orders filled until i get overbid but at some point, i got hundreds filled over night and not 1 by 1 but a couple each every time.

I sent an email to anet and explained my suspicion in order to be on the save side (i made quite some profit on the influx of those trinkets). Shortly after, the supply went down.

Assault Knight Power Cores may or may not be available after the Living Story ends, so there’s a chance that they can skyrocket in price similar to Azurite Orbs. Of course, I can’t be sure that these will never drop again. If there’s a Dev interview that confirms this or not, I haven’t seen it.

Miyani already sells the recipe for the Gift of Blades (5g, no belongings), so people after the patch can still obtain the recipe. We actually might be looking at Another Sentinel/azurite price desaster (or opportunity), if they wont be available after the update. Personall, i earned alot of gold, buying up loads of sentinel insignias/inscriptions during flame and frost and making with a profit range of 1000-4000% a couple of months later. But they already fixed the supply for those twice, once with their introduction to the commendations vendor and once with the droprate of exotic sentinel weapons and armor since Escape from LA, from which they are salvageable.

Azurite Orbs will also be re-introduced into the economy, once jeweler 500 goes live and i am sure they will also introduce new Exquisite jewels, that will be salvageble from trinkets with stats that are not craftable. So they might even reintroduce Exotic Azurite trinkets to a loot table.

It’s not 1 per day. The first day, I got a loot from the first knight and none on the next 5 (so I thought it was one per day)
24 hours later, I killed 3 more knights and got no loot
one more day, one more knight killed, no loot, didn’t even bother with the other 2 knights.
it’s definitely not 1 per day.

I thought to get the loot you had to be one of the top damage inflictors…I have landed 2 of the cores but promptly sold them, the first went for 3.5G, the one I sold this morning after reading this post sold for 6, thanks!

Note – Since they confirmed that a fix is imminent for the drop rates of Cores/rewards, it might be a good time to unload them all now while the prices are high.

The second half of this event has sucked and by the time they fix/fixed it, people will have moved on. Champ trains and T6 mat devaluation…..as well as ecto.

Nah, what you were doing was the right play. People always pay a premium for items like the cores when they are first introduced, and selling into that demand spike is making money 101.

This got kittened up by the bugged drop rate, causing a huge price spike (that astute speculators rode all the way up). There was no way to anticipate that happening, and now that it’s fixed you can expect cores to resume their downward trajectory. It’s not like you should have held onto the cores on the off chance there was a bug that would make them surge – you would lose that bet almost every time.

The rational play was to sell everything ASAP, swapping to buy only when the bug was discovered and supply cut off. The two aren’t related, and if you weren’t watching it closely you’d miss the second part – and I wouldn’t beat myself up over not watching for an unexpected market movement due to bugs.

They are not salvageable though.

I salvaged hundreds of exotic sentinel inscriptions/insignias off exotic sentinel gear since Escape from Lions Arch Patch went live.
The reason people believed that they were not salvageable was because there simply was not much exotic sentinel gear left on the tp from the Fire and Frost to salvage.

I should be grateful for people like you though, as they give me the possibility to make huge profits from salvaging.
