They have already returned them in gem store, around winter’s day, do you think that they will be available again in this sale promotion?
if yes, how likely do you think it will happen?
if no, what’s your reasoning?

right now, im on exactly 0 profit/0 loss if I sell some dyes I bought, but I will gladly do so if they plan on releasing them again.

p.s, the response of a dev. saying that they will, or will not do it would be greatly appreciated, but I doubt it will happen :-D

Well, there will be 31 individual sales, there is a chance they may be re-released, along side many other others. (Anyone else looking forward to kasmeer’s staff being available?) but it could still be very unlikely, since it has not been too long since they were already re-released.

I can’t imagine they will return the dye kits that were just re-released like 3 weeks ago.

More than likely it will be skins and stuff that haven’t been seen in a while. But, it’s anet, they like to kill markets and burn them to the ground as much as they can so who knows for sure.

Well, considering the ‘limited time’ dye sales happen every few months now it seems, I would say there’s a good chance they could be returning again this month. And considering I’ve lost over 200g because of Anet doing these BS ‘limited time’ sales so often, when I saw the ‘daily gem store sales in March’ announcement, I wasn’t going to risk losing even more money, so I decided to bite the bullet and just sell all my dyes.

If there’s something I’ve learnt, it’s to NEVER invest in anything tradeable from the gem store, because chances are they’ll just be re-introduced later to make more money.

Examples?

All dye packages (toxic/flame and frost, etc. etc.)
Miniature Set 1 package (a while back it made a return for a limited time, so no doubt it’ll happen again)
Reduced ticket prices for black lion weapon skins

And probably a few others.

It’s up to you in the end whether the risk is worth the reward, but from my experience personally, I’ve lost all faith in investing in anything gem store related because they’ll just keep bringing whatever it is, back. I’ve lost a few hundred gold because of it, and it’s an extremely harsh lesson I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

Edit: same can be said for any miniatures. I remember when the tri-key chest made a return from some toxic/nightmare-themed living story, I forget which toxic mini came from that chest, but anyway, more were released as a result (and more toxic spore skins came into the game at the same time too – hence how they dropped to an all time low of only 7 gold at one point in time). Also we just recently had a free set 2 mini package on the trading post, and that was nice of Anet, but it also ruined the prices of the mini’s which I’m sure there were many investors for (I heard some poor guy made a loss of around 1000 gold because of that alone – and while I myself have never even been able to hold more than 500g without investing or spending it, I could see how infuriated he must have been when the prices of set 2 mini’s crashed).

All these manipulations of the market begin to affect players who are interested in playing the trading post game, but are getting sick and tired of constantly losing – not necessarily out of risk, but out of the fact that Anet can do what they want, whenever they want – and THAT is scary. It can (and most likely, has) put some people off investing forever.
