Giant Eyes on the Trading Post
Let’s go through some facts.
1. How much Giant Eyes have you dropped while playing the game? I have 2k play hours and I can’t remember dropping a single on. So it’s super super rare.
2. For crafting Immobulus you need a full stack http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Immobulus
Those to things already make it clear why the price is so high.
Also the wardrobe is coming up and people maybe really want to finish crafting the skin.
I don’t see any form of manipulation here.
Edit:
Oh you meant the one buy order only 30s higher than the others? lol
it’s just somebody who really wants the eyes. Orders for a higher price to hopefully get not undercut, but it’s still cheaper than buying it directly.

Well, if the OP would actually provide some info on what he means, we would know.
If we doesnt do that, we might as well close the topic.

I think I will go invest in some giant eyes right now…
So he manipulated prices to eliminate competition.
Agreed. You don’t know what price manipulation is.
No. Google is your friend:
https://www.google.com/#q=price+manipulation+definition
Market manipulation is a deliberate attempt to interfere with the free and fair operation of the market and create artificial, false or misleading appearances with respect to the price of, or market for, a security, commodity or currency. Market manipulation is prohibited in most countries, in particular, it is prohibited in the United States under Section 9(a)(2)1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, in Australia under Section 1041A of the Corporations Act 2001, and in Israel under Section 54(a) of the securities act of 1968. The Act defines market manipulation as transactions which create an artificial price or maintain an artificial price for a tradeable security.

Placing a bid between the highest buy order and below the lowest sell order is not manipulation, it’s a legitimate attempt to obtain the item(s) he wants. It is, in fact, the very opposite of manipulation, the market working as intended.

Sooo anybody buying a large quantity of something is "Manipulating the price ? "
Prices in GW2 are pretty difficult to manipulate because of the massive player base. (Except maybe in the case of precursors and legendries of which there are few numbers on sale)
Everybody must place buy orders while buying some thing and show patience. Placing buy orders has no cost to it either. You can always cancel and outbid anyone who bid higher than u.
Those taking advantage of people with less patience who buy directly without placing buy orders, should not be called manipulators.
… then I don’t know what is.
That poor hawk. Burnt to a crisp.

I dropped one 2 days ago farming Orr events out of a moldy bag. Promptly sold it 2 minutes later. Think I got 3g out of it at the time. Only been playing for less than 3 months too
They have a very, very low supply, compared to a year ago (remember our lovely days farming in orr before it was nerfed? hehe, where there was a much higher quantity of bags being opened and a large number of giant eyes coming into the game, now, however, not so much) Couple this low supply with a rather high demand, all it takes is 1-2 people who want to craft an immobulus and suddenly the price starts to get pushed up as it can take upwards of weeks to buy order 250 of them even if you don’t get overcut at all, they are also used for the mist shield, which is actually quite nice and there are a number of people wanting them as well.
Also, I think the drop rate is something like 1 out of every few thousand bags, from my personal experience.
Whats this topic actually about?
Does the OP want to make us aware that Giant Eyes are available on the TP?
Do we need a topic for this?

No idea what the OP is going on about…. I put in lots of buy orders for Giant eyes, usually about 20-50 eyes at a time….I always went up quite a bit more than the highest buyer because I hate playing trading post PvP and got really tired of being outbid by 1c here and there and everywhere.
I now have my immobulus and love it so much!
Immobulus is way too expensive. 250 giant eyes for a simple exotic is insane!
There is a way to roll for these practically free, however you need to open 100’s of thousands of bags to get 250, based on current drop rate data. :/
