Glowing mask not dyeable? Disappointing
it would be nice if its dyeable yes but as you said the name already imples that it’s supposed to be red, thats already a reason why it is not dyeable.
but then again, yes it would be better if its dyeable
Except it’s the same with all armors with particle effects.
So in reality there’s only technical reasons. And this topic comes up each time.

oh yes thats true!
Having extensive experience as a 3d developer (I’ll spare you the cliche resume), I see no legitimate technical hurdle to implementing such features, and have designed numerous such systems myself. Closed system though GW2 may be, there’s clearly nothing extraordinarily unusual or alien going on with the renderer. A competent programmer worthy of the name should be able to adapt it with no additional performance cost. Therefore, I believe my initial observation that this is basically just a scheme to arbitrarily charge more money for redundant items to be the more probable scenario here.
If ArenaNet is truly lacking the manpower to make such improvements to the renderer, I would be happy to do this work pro bono (in a fantasy world where there’s no red tape to a company bringing in an outside volunteer contractor to work with sensitive proprietary code, of course).
I really do like the Crimson mask, especially on my mesmer, but… red. Had it been dyeable, I would have bought 50!
Okay, maybe not 50.
Tarnished Coast [NA]
Had it been dye-able, I would’ve bought one.
Wait, you want to dye a CRIMSON mask? Crimson is the COLOR of the mask and you want to make it a different color? If it were dyable it would be called Glowing Mask, but it is already a color, crimson. Wait a few months and you’ll get a green one, then an orange one, and then you’ll finally get the blue one everyone wants It’s called marketing, they’ll show you one that’s really neat in a color a few people will like, then they’ll give you other colors until you finally get the color everyone wants and it’ll sell like hotcakes.
Like iPhone cases, you get white until they give you color choices, but they’re not going to be the ones you want until next year(but they wont tell you that) so you buy one now in a color you can deal with, then they bring new colors everyone asked for and they get sold out so fast they can’t deal with the demand and then stop cause a new iPhone is coming next month and the cases wont fit those. Rinse and Repeat
If It had been dyeable they would have sold quite a few more ^^
Yes, I would have bought one, but I don’t need red. Still debating on whether or not I should just get it for the heck of it.
I would have most likely bought the glowing mask if it was dyeable. A shame really.
