Just imagine how much it costs for a 7 ticket skin.
And 50 keys, you still have a 44.4% chance of getting 9 scraps or less.

So what? That makes it a rare skin that is expensive to get.
I don’t see people complaining about the prices for Volcanus or Mjolnir

How am I even supposed to reply to that? “Oh you are right, a set that will most like cost more than multiple legendaries is fine” ?

BL skins will never be that expensive, unless we’re talking about skins that will remain to be unreleased.
BL skins as they are pre patch were incredibly undervalued, as the price was depressed by key farmers. The alternative to key farming, gambling with actual gem purchases, was incredibly inefficient cost wise.
The change of the lvl 10 to lvl 20 storyline will even things out to a more fair price.
And yes, ‘fair’ involves both buyers and sellers, not just buyers who want everything cheap. Sellers want a fair price to make a profit.

Sellers who didn’t hoard those skins pre patch will be still better of with just converting the gems to gold.

Looks like Vol has hoarded lots of skins. I’d put down a wager that if they added keys and prices would tank…..they’d take issue.

I haven’t hoarded a skin since Scarlet’s Kiss came out, and I’m disappointed in myself for not holding on to them for longer, looking at the price right now..
I bet the guy that hoarded 200 of them is happy.
He may or may not, what does this comment serve?
If it makes some people buy more keys then good for Anet. Otherwise I have to say that I find the concept of “complete a set of store bought random chest skins” a tad off putting to say it mildly. I paid 60g for one of those skins recently, that was basically my foxfire clusters that I sold (roundabout) – otherwise I wouldn’t have paid that either, it’s sort of a principle thing for me.
“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
It serves bias……….albeit being mistaken

It’s just an ad hominem attack. There’s really no other constructive reason for it.

You are too much…..lol
Perhaps to add to my previous comment, I am of good faith that there will be more than enough different kinds of “achievements” and “rewards”. For me this will most likely fall into the same category as PvP, WvW or high level fractals – I won’t care much.
This is not meant negatively, I’m happy for those who like said content, I won’t feel compelled or be angry because I will never “finish” one of those sets.
If we’ll get a matching armour skin … humm, that will be tough, then I might have to make you guys buy my mats lol

Well now that the keyfarm is dead, maybe ( a really really big maybe) Anet would consider increasing the odds of getting scraps and tickets out of the chests.
I would much rather pay outright for a weapon skin than pay for a chance at getting a ticket.
I still say a good model for this is to offer the RNG chance at a ticket for a skin for a set period of time and then after that time has expired offer a set gem price for the skin.
The RNG chance will always be there, it will be the first means of acquiring the skin, and finally after the initial offering is over if the player feels lucky they can always try to obtain it cheaply via the RNG chest before making a more expensive direct purchase.

More likely it would be that the skins hit the gem store first, then get moved to the black lion chest ticket vendor once the gem store sale is over.

566g? I can get a much better deal by shelling out real money. Since I am a working adult that would mean that I would have a much bigger advantage in this game, than those of you who are school kids.
It just blows my mind every time I hear people complaining about some means of gold farmings. After all we have a game system that allows any player to convert real cash into gold.
Asking to nerf any kind of gold farming is like wanting to ENSURE that only those players with real money are entitled to be rich in this game, over and above those other players who actually invested time into the game.

IF on average you get 1 ticket from 50 chests and 50 keys cost 4200 gems or $52.50 or (at this time) 544g or if you convert those cash bought 4200 gems to 390g, it’s easy enough to see that since the most you get from 1 ticket skins is 235g that it’s not worth paying for keys if you are farming tickets. Just forget the cost of 5 and 7 ticket skins compared to sale price on the TP. Fused, a 7 ticket skin has a high price of only 500g.

Looks likely that changes will effect this. But I don’t think it will stop people from keyfarming. I think the techniques used will change and particularly take longer, but be worth it as there will be less supply for the key items acquired (skins, minis, permanant contracts etc) for profit without effecting demand so hopefully the extra time will equate to an equivalent profit. Just less boxes opened.
Huh. So it looks like they will be introducing Black Lion skin collections after all.

It may bring more people into PvP in order to get the Tomes of Knowledge. 8 of these plus being level 2 out of the story instance will allow someone to do the personal story.
I thought it was confirmed that they will nerf it? Anet’s yearly income is already declining they need to milk out everything they can from players who are blinding loyal to them.
