I have ran into a few female toons wearing the flamekissed armor and all of them have said the same as you. it makes me sad to see this armor go, it is so nice

I’m going to be really disappointed if this skin is changed. I want to just wait and see if they do come up with a better one but in the end, I spent my gems on THIS skin and we should have the right to keep it.

If they change it, they have to allow for the option to refund out gems. I only purchased it for that specific look. Changing the look is like taking my money, and judging from the other armor skins that are offered recolored armors I will not even want the replacement. Why was this action never taken for PvP armor that people exploited to receive, for example there are people with cultural gear that are 20 ranks to low to wear. I guess the difference is that PvE players were directly affected and must be appeased.

I rarely play a light armor class but saw the skin and HAD to purchase it, I will not be satisfied with my gems going to an unknown skin. So let us keep up as this was not our fault, or refund our gems and give us the choice to rebuy the new skin.

They better not remove this skin, or there will be hell to pay.

Here is the problem. People who like something will not post a message. People who don’t like something will. Anet did not even give the Flamekissed skin enough time to sell before pulling it because some disgruntled people complained about how close it is to human cultural T3 armor. This is a beautiful armor skin and had Anet given it a chance, I believe it would have been a big seller. But alas, the complainers win out and we will lose this skin. I agree that I am afraid of what the replacement will look like considering how ugly the medium and heavy skins are. Oh well.

There’s a full thread about money refund and the majority says that due to the complany’s policy they don’t have to refund money because you can no way prove that you bought gems for this very armor. You bought gems, they will refund you gems. Technically, it’s fair. In fact, unfair, taking into consideration the fact that the sikn was removed due to the complaint of some people, not ALL the community of ALL the players.

Isnt racial armor…well…racist? lol I never understood the point of racial armors being limited to that race. I like it in the sense that it was inspired and crafted by a certain race but I do not believe it should be limited to said race. So racism is ok?

Lets just hope Anet would stop trying to cheat money out of its players, one attempt at being lazy and something as messy as this happens. If flamekissed wasnt t3, most players would still probably attack the other 2 armor because of the reuse of existing models.

No, I was cheated the moment SOME poeople (not the majority in the game) whined and demanded the return. Me, along with many-many people, were happy with this skin.

Like I said, predictable backlashes, its bound to happen the moment skin hit the gem store. Unfortunately many other people dont have the positive attitude as you have about the armor.

Would also like to apologize for the angry tone in my first post, i just dont like the idea of something exclusive to human being available to all, while the vice-versa not happening. Please, ignore me and get back to the original intend of the thread.

First I was giving information to those in the thread above. I did not tell anyone to shut up about it.

Secondly to my knowledge AN has never given cash back, they give you gems (like store credit) I understand you might want cash back but I am sure its probably difficult to separate those who paid IRL money and those who paid gold.

Thirdly, I understand what the players are asking for. And in some situations they’ve copied over armor and in some rare situation over other T3 armor. I don’t know that there is a solution to this. It might be lost and that stinks.

Last point: While there might not currently be anything you want as a playing in the gem store I think it’s a little silly to consider there will NEVER be anything worth those gems.

All that being said it is a bad situation that AN themselves caused by being a bit aloof and making poor gem store decisions.

If you live in Japan and in the summer wear a yukata it doesn’t matter what “race” you are because it’s a traditional attire and not out of the ordinary (well during summer festivals). The clothes themselves aren’t going to draw the attention. However if you decide to were one in the Germany you will probably get stares because they aren’t worn there. The clothes are cultural.

The only thing that has annoyed me, about the refund situation, is the timing. We are having these sales now but in a week, we might be stuck with 800 gems that we don’t know how to spend.

So sad this is going away. I don’t have much faith in the ‘new’ skin, looking at the other two up in the gem store.

no skin off my back, directly at least, though i have to admit that this was the only flame-themed armour skin that made sense even remotely

the gf on the other hand… she was about to get this for her human elementalist, pretty much because it looked like the T3 cultural. had to listen to her whine about this for about an hour…
