Is Eternity worth it?
I wouldn’t craft eternity to sell. Just keep the two or sell one. You will lose more fron the 15% selling eternity than twilight or sunrise.
Depend if you want the stats or just the skins.
If you just want the skins for both twilight and sunrise, selling the eternity make sense. I think it’ll still cost you a minimum of 1400 gold(at the current price), the karma, skillpoint etc. But you’ll definately recover a lot of gold.
But I’m not sure how easy it is to sell eternity now. The eternity price crash a while ago, I think someone trying to flip it and it crash again.
You also have the option to just sell one of sunrise or twilight.
It’s really depend what you want.
I forgot to state that I only want the sunrise/twilight skins tho lol.
I only rly use zerker weapons so i prob might just craft an ascended zerker GS and use the twilight/sunrise skin on it.
So yea, not having much need for the stat swapping.

well it probably cost like 4600 gold along with the karma, skill point, etc to get sunrise and twilight skins.
So it make sense to craft eternity to sell if you just care about the sunrise/twilight skins, you should be able to recover at least 2700 gold(including trading post tax assuming you sell it cheaply).
I think that’s what many people are doing right now judging from the number of eternity at the trading post.
If you have to ask if “it’s worth it,” my guess is that it won’t be. According to all reports, there isn’t much special about eternity aside from its appearance changing with time of day, something that only the wielder would really notice.
Financially, though, selling Eternity is bad idea. You can make more selling Twilight and Sunrise separately.
Crafting eternity unlocks four skins (Dawn, Dusk, Sunrise, Twilight) and still allows you to sell the weapon. Accordingly, a lot of people decided to sell …relative to previous months. Last I checked, there have been over 20 sellers compared to typically 4-5 before the announcement of the Wardrobe. This has driven down the price a lot.
So if you want a quick turn around on your investments, I’d recommend selling the the components (Dusk, Dawn, and the mats) or if you prefer, selling the component legendaries, Sunrise and Twilight.
If you just want the light/dark effects, you can keep both legendaries with the same character, perhaps giving them different sigils, e.g. using Twilight in “nighttime” dungeons (e.g. CoF, with Sigil of Night) and Sunrise in others.
But if you want the satisfaction of crafting the legendary that requires the most legendary of efforts, go for Eternity.
I planned to sell eternity if I ever got bored of my two great swords.
When the patch came along, it gave me the opportunity to.
So, what did I do? I immediately equipped it before I could change my mind.. And I never feel that I made the wrong choice. All my alts with GS have eternity now
Since then I crafted Bifrost, and next will come kamo (#7). I make very few investments, save all my materials and sell in lots, and play lots and lots.
In summary, how you feel about eternity may change when you have done the crafting for real.. What will you use the money for, more ascended armor and legendaries?
Do what works for you and you will be happiest
Good luck!

You do realize that among the stats you can switch between, Berserker is one of them, at Ascended level?

I am sure he does. His point, I believe, is that he does not intend on ever switching the stats on them. So an ascended zerker GS is the same as a legendary zerker which you never change the stats for.
To the OP, I had this same dilemma when legendaries became account bound. I decided to keep my Eternity. I like it. The footprints are way better and larger, and the smokey aura it gives you is pretty cool. Its not just a switch between Sunrise and Twilight mentioned previously here, it has its own unique effects.

Making Eternity yourself is a massive loss right now due to all the people who had Sunrise or Twilight, then made the other recoup most the costs of their initial legendary after they sold Eternity.
Only make Eternity if you are in the boat where you already have one. Otherwise just purchase it.

If you’re satisfied on just having the skins, then unlock/equip Twilight and Sunrise, forge them to Eternity and sell to make or buy another legendary weapon. Having 3 legendary weapons (two are just skins but still legendary looks) and extra cash for the price of 2 is definitely worth it.

Subjectively speaking. When I craft Twilight (which will be after Juggernaut & Kudzu), I’d be keeping both Twilight & Sunrise. I don’t like Eternity, and I want a Legendary, not a budget skin.

At the moment, you could sell Twilight at ~3,100g and Sunrise at ~3,000g, netting over 5,000g after fees/taxes.
You can buy eternity for ~3,500.
Well I like Twilight its the most awesome skin ever made so I say no,night is shorter than day so you will have sunrise look most of the time(2/3)…
If:
1) weapons were dyeable (including the hilt of greatswords)
2) legendaries didn’t cost an arm and a leg
3) you could craft legendaries without having to do dungeons for dungeon tokens (GW2 failed on the statement that you could ‘play the way you want’ because there is no swap-out-dungeon-tokens-for-WvW-badges-or-any-other-currency-for-that-matter option in crafting legendaries is there? No.)
Then perhaps I would consider them being worth it. Until then? Hells-to-the-no.

I like my Eternity, and having the ability to give out sunrise and twilight skins at will as well as more eternity skins is great.
Actually, I wish they would allow us to pick which skin eternity had at any given time, I’d be permanently on the sunrise skin, I have thought about just transmuting sunrise over it but I really… REALLY love the shiny pommel and footfalls lol.

Or he can sell eternity and have both sunrise and twilight skin for 1600 gold.
It depend what he want. If he want the eternity skin or not. Or the change stats ability.

So I’ll share my experience with you guys.
From farming like Vol said to I had about 100 of each tier 6. I had a left over gift of exploration and farming in eotm got me quite some karma and badges. I made my 77 clovers in one go for my next leggie about a month ago.
Two weeks ago I thought I wanted to make Twilight as I already had Sunrise, in order to unlock it and sell Eternity.
So It took me 1 week to make 1Kg, sadly I wasn’t lucky at the forge with 700g of exotics. I thus remade 1Kg the week after to buy everything I needed. It took 24hrs for all my buy orders to fill, and a hundred SP to get tier 6 and lodestones the cheap way. After I had all of this I farmed a bit more in eotm for my last 40 obsidian shards, but as Balthazar is almost contantly bugged, I carried in low level fractals to grab relics + used 21 laurels.
Borrowed 600g from a rich guildie and with my own 500 left over I bought Dusk at 1Kg yesterday (said guildie got it at the MF 4 hours ago though :s).
Crafted Twilight, account bound it, insta-made Eternity at 3 or 4 am GMT+1. Sold it at highest b/o which was 3,3Kg, which after fees and reimbursing my guildie was 2,4Kg
So I got a twilight skin + 1kg at the cost of my sunrise. Definitely worth it.
Was it any of you guys that I sold it too ?

See me and you are the same in one part… except I perma twilight lol sunrise is no offense to sexual preference but gay I hate it with a passion it makes me feel like I should be shot in the head.
Edit: the one thing I have against Eternity is that well make that 2 first it has no blade trail (skills with classes that throw the weapon) it’s just a generic greatsword unlike Twilight and sunrise and 2 you lose 2 legendary weapons for 1 so in a sense you lost an ascended weapon with stat changes you could have used on another character you may play often some people have 2 or 3 classes that they frequently play but never really more than that. I have my Warrior and Guardian. and on a side note you cant do the “Still a better love story than [Twilight]!” lol
