Dude, cmon u cant complain for this, pick up any class u have, make a condition build and beat liadri. Is really simple( if u have a thief or warr u can beat her in god mod)…remember condition build.

The entire point of that mini was to prove that we defeated her and reward us for it.

It’s one of the few (read “only?”) cases where we get an exclusive but guaranteed reward for the effort we put into an encounter in this game and it’s glorious.

Constantly losing your target is a broken mechanic. You can’t really argue otherwise.

Also, trying to make stuff up in order to boast is really, really sad.

She isn’t even a hard encounter once you’ve learned her predictable mechanics. The loss of target isn’t exactly a game breaking issue. This is just another l2p situation sorry.

The only difficulty in this encounter comes from not being able to target her properly.

I defeated liadri in the first jubilee and it took many tries but I won my mini. When she came back and I wasn’t doing anything in the pavilion I just looked at my traits, selected things I thought might be good and went in using p/d(what I used the first time) and zerk or solder’s armor(can’t remember). It only took me 2 tries because the broken mechanics like the hard to see red rings were fixed.

Should she be in the gem store? No.

But some of the posters here are kitten, just because someone can’t be Liandri doesn’t mean that you have to be a kitten about it. Most probably used one of the handful of gimmick builds floating around anyway.

One tip to the OP is to target her with Ctrl+T. And yes, targeting in this game can be pretty awful.

It’s hardly a difficult fight, you just need to get hard to the mechanics. Use control+click to target her then just go for it.

No please don’t make the mini purchasable through the gemstore. I will never own a mini Liadri but I wouldn’t want to take away someone’s feeling of achievement by making her available to those with enough gems/gold.
And I do realize that some have powered through with specific builds and others have suffered from issues with the fight. I tried and tried and have finally given up for this season. Maybe next season since I still have 2 stacks of tickets to the gauntlet. If you want it bad enough keep persisting, you will eventually prevail.

EDIT: Was going to remove the part of me looking like a loser for not defeating her. Decided to leave it in and give thanks to those with ‘Targeting’ advice instead. I will try again.

I agree that the fight is extremely hard, I have no idea how many attempts it took me but it was over 200, both last August when the gauntlet first came out and this time around.

But the targeting thing is actually one of the easiest to solve. First thing I do when I get into the arena is call target on her (you don’t have to be in a party for this). As long as your take target button is easy to reach it’s not a problem at all if you lose the target.

I also don’t think a mini is an appropriate reward. A title makes a lot more sense and if they wanted something more visible maybe a back item or other skin, something combat related since it’s a combat challenge.

But I also don’t agree that they should put the mini on the gem store, and I said the same during and after the Jubilee when I hadn’t been able to beat her. It is the only truly challenging content you have to do solo, and so one of the only things that shows a player is capable of doing that and taking that away would disappoint a lot of people.

The gauntlet will return and chances are when it does you’ll find that in the time in between you’ve improved and beating her becomes much easier.

When you first start the fight set Liadri as your target, then whenever you lose her as target you can press the target assist button to regain her as your target. Quite simply you should learn to use these keys, not just for Liadri but for dungeons and also pvp, they are very helpful. So please do not complain about losing your target when its so easily rectified.

I killed Liadri with d/d thief XD.Man that was hard work but it felt soo good after that,i had to dance around her all the time and i learned alot about fighting mesmers now.I use to had problem beating mesmers in WvW but no longer.I think that people that killed her deserve to have her as prof of hard work and should not be on market place.But i wont be selfish,its not that much important anyway so its whatever for me if they add it.

Besides the fact that liadri was nerfed to the ground and the mini is meaningless now – on reddit one guy got to 7 orbs on a lvl 1 character – we need more content that rewards skill and perseverance, not less. Liadri was a good start, don’t let Wildstar claim a monopoly on skill-based content and rewards.

So no. Just, no.

Me? I have lots of money. But you can’t buy the satisfaction of overcoming difficult content and being rewarded for it. It’s better than any black lion skin.

firstly, it’s not actually that hard anyways. you have an entire month to do it as well. it took me a single day to get through the entire gauntlet and get the title and the mini, on a fairly inefficient build. (granted, I play a bit more than some people might be able to, but that’s still just a weekend for a casual gamer.)

secondly, it’s a reward to show you’ve done something special, not paid a bunch of money (that’s what legendaries are for ;P) granted, as I pointed out above, it’s not that special, but as people are still complaining about it, it has some semblance of a reward for skill.

thirdly, you haven’t said anything to give a reason to put it in the gemstore, other than targeting her is broken (which in fact, isn’t broken, you’re just having a hard time from the sounds of it ( many people have also posted ways to make it much much easier)

fourthly, dismissing the worth of posts that disagree with your opinion practically invalidates it.

Why don’t you lock the target?
then shift +T, to re-target again? (or remap this, I use z, as it’s quick and easy).

btw, took me 130+ tries.. (150? I can’t remember) before I beat liadri. It’s frustrating..meh.
Is the mini worth it? I do wonder myself…

lol no.. not only you had a whole month do to it but the fight is not even that hard, it took me 5-10 tries. but hey you can’t beat it so let’s blame the game mechanics!

The only (useless) item in this game that can be achieved by showing some (very little) skill on gem store? You got to be joking.

Owning Liadri is bragging rights. It would be like going out and buying an Olympic Gold Medal or an Oscar. So emphatic no.

Buddy, there is something in the game called:Call Target, it makes it easier to reacquire target if you lose it. ANd you can use it without being in a group, it is a nice handy tool.

If you did not know about it, I can see why you lack the ability to beat Liadri.

If you lose target, just press tab.

Problem solved.

Selling on the gem store? Nah, can’t support that.

Buying the mini from a player who earned it properly? That I could get behind. The skilled player still has the “Blazing Light” title to showcase their skill, and if they don’t collect minis, why not allow them to sell the mini to earn some extra gold if they don’t care about minis?

Lol broken mechanics. Seems like you haven’t been trying to kill her last year then. Killing her in a closed cage with barely visible AOEs , that was a challenge. Now it’s a piece of cake. Just learn to play your class properly.
