I also am receiving and IIS7 screen when I access the Trading Post. I am still able to access the Gem Store and the Currency exchange. Only the Trading Post is restricted.

I have submitted a bug report in-game and hope to hear something soon.

I have attached a screenshot showing what I see when I go to the Trading Post.

Some others were having the same issue, and apparently found a fix for it.

This solution worked for my girlfriend’s account however I am a mac user and after finding and deleting three different caches, trying the -repair command and making sure GW has full access to my computer with no trouble from firewalls I am still having the problem. Any help at all would be appreciated.

I would rather have ANeT put an official notice out before deleting files. This wasn’t happening when I initially logged in on Friday, then suddenly I could only access the IIS7 screen.

Ironically I can only access the regular trade post and NOT the gemstore and exchange.

Basically, they are now losing money. I can’t buy any gems. I’ve restarted my computer, cleared my browsing cache, and of course re-logged into the game. Fix this soon ANeT.

It’s been nearly 2 weeks for me. I’ve found work-arounds for the basics of the TP, but I can sell gems for gold or buy gems with gold. I’ve reported it twice in the bug reports as well. Maybe they’ll just unceremoniously fix it in an update, but an acknowledgment that they are aware of the problem and fixing it would be nice.

If you are still having the issue, have you run a client repair yet?

So you still refuse to delete the %temp%\gw2cache folder ?

Heck you can delete everything in your temp folder because it is just for temporary files.

I want an OFFICIAL response. I will not do something based on anonymous people posting in a forum. The repair guildwars link does not deal with this issue.

What an incredibly silly thing to say.

You haven’t tried it, so you don’t know. To state things you don’t know as fact is silly.

Silly of course being a kitten-free term to describe it. There are much better synonyms available that would get filtered.

Stop being the cause of your problem and take the advice you’ve been given.
Clear your temp files (which are AUTOMATICALLY REDOWNLOADED when you start the game client if they are absent) and repair your client. The issue is 100% on YOUR end (corrupt file on YOUR PC), so YOU need to be the one to take action.

You won’t get a response from ArenaNet, because they don’t have the ability or responsibility to do basic software maintenance on your machine.

Yours is the truly silly response. You’re saying you would listen to any anonymous poster in a forum and do something to your computer, instead of going to the official source and having them tell you how to properly fix it?

If it was just me that this happened to I might consider this. But this happened to quite a few people. It wasn’t isolated. Thus, it requires at least an acknowledgement from ANeT on the issue plus an OFFICIAL yes or no on the fix people said might work.

When the advice from an anonymous poster includes “delete temp files” and “follow this link to the OFFICIAL client repair page”, then yes, you take that advice because those are “tech support 101” items that anyone who was born after 1980 can do in their sleep.

Well, ArenaNet is not Geek Squad, so they aren’t going to help you with personal computer problems like bad temp files or corrupt game clients.

You need to address those on your own, and this thread provided you with the directions for doing that.

You’re allowed to pay Geek Squad to do that for you of course, but we gave you the answer for free.

Also, these are the forums, the entire point of which is to talk to anonymous people. If you want to talk to ArenaNet, you have to do it via the support page.

Sure they do… just not to these types of requests.

They are not tech support. They are game support. The problem is not with the game but with something on your PC, thus it is outside of their ability or responsibility to address.

I have to agree with mtpelion. The issue isn’t on Anet’s side, it’s on your PC (“your” being anyone who is having the issue). Having worked as tech support for Microsoft at one point, there were actually some thing we were NOT allowed to do on a clients machine. We could give them advice on what to do but even that advice had to include a disclaimer that we were not responsible if things went horribly horribly wrong. I think Anet my be in a similiar situation, as the problem isn’t with their software, there isn’t much they can tell you.

Now if you don’t feel you can trust random people on a forum, at least take into consideration, that anyone posting help in a tech support forum, more then likely has a pretty good grasp of the situation, and either knows what to do, or how to find what to do. I myself have an A+ certification, and 4 years of tech support experience with Microsoft. But hey, I might just be a “random forum guy” who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Truth is some people don’t feel comfortable messing around in Files.. I have been using and fixing computers since 1983… Have certs for all of it I will go in and look at things as needed but A+ and 4 years of Tech Support sure doesn’t make one a expert neither does 30 years of working on the stuff…. Some one asked for help then doesn’t want the answers Bottom line you let it go and let them try asking some place else….

And maybe this should be posted in The Tech Support section….

Sigh .. i wonder if Microsoft first asked ANet before they implemented such a feature into Windows :

This doesn’t work. Tried it.

It doesn’t work because it only deletes temp-files that have not been touched for
over 5 day i think. It should just show you that there are even tools directly into
Windows that delete temp files ..

So if you still don’t want to do it manually, just don’t play GW2 for 5 days.
