[oof] Crystal Desert

Why change what isn’t broken? The old system was 100x better as you weren’t locked into exchanging unnecessary extra gems, you could get the perfect amount of gems you needed. Now if you want to purchase something through the gemstore by using the exchange, it’s practically impossible to get the exact amount you need without going over. This is one of the worst changes I have seen you made to this game without even consulting us, your consumers. If your reasoning to changing this is because the old system was too difficult to understand then your wrong, a 5th grader could understand the old system. But I believe your true reasons are for more money, by not allowing people to exchange gold to gems to the perfect amount they need, it leaves them with unnecessary extra gems. Some players will spend their excess gems on small things such black lion keys or boosters, instead of saving them for when new stuff comes out, and by doing this you punish everyone, all for a quick few bucks.

Cause it’s all about the money.
And their logic behind it is that new players are so poor and instead of being able to exchange their gold for however many gems they ACTUALLY need, anet want to make it MORE expensive for new players by offering up a minimum of 400 gems – yes because new players can afford MORE gems (that was sarcasm btw, if you didn’t get it).
#thatlogic
Everyone is pointing out how this affected the gold to gem transfer, but here’s why this makes me sad… I really wanted the new Noble Count Outfit. I don’t have the gold for 800 gems because I spent most of my gold, but I probably would’ve bought the gems with real money and just dumped the excess 100 gems into gold. Now, however, I wont even spend the cash on it because it will drive me absolutely insane if I end up with an unusably small number of gems that I couldn’t convert to gold or buy anything with.
So, ANet, there you go – another sale you’re missing because of this change.
This make me so angry, you had a system that work just fine, and now you change is 2 years into the game. This is because you want to force people to use their credit card to buy gems by making it so people can not buy the exact amount of gems they need, or do anything with the small amount of left over gems!
Anet, you always make a good game, then you spend the next few years breaking it and making people hate it. Get off the crack pipe kittens!
Time to find a new game. This one is broken. It was fun while it lasted.
Listen, players did ask for a way to buy an exact about of gems with gold. Sadly they perverted this request into the tiered mess we got today. Hopefully they can fix this.
I have quit today because of this. I have sat through a lot of mistakes and still played the game. When the new system came out though I realized that it was another Xbox Live Arcade or Nintendo Points situation. I’m not supporting games like these, its a really disgusting tactic.
I play GW2 for my PvE and DotA 2 for my PvP, but I will gladly forsake PvE if they are being disrespectful to newer players. I buy bank tabs for newer players because the current rates can be rough. I help with my guild at times to make their day a little better. I sometimes support random people in Queensdale because Queensdale is the best Dale. This move in the gemstore, followed by Gail’s disrespectful comments, ended my time with Guild Wars.
