So with champ bag changes. . .
I dunno, my inner completionist sort of applauds the 250th meat thing. Because yay, now that end of the box is full! {Which makes my crafting habits horrible, since then I don’t want to take anything out and spoil the full stack. }
But I do think that sort of raises the heart of the issue: Why are we gathering all this gold? I mean, I know that as a casual player I don’t need to have 5,000 or even 500 gold sitting in my bank. After a while you run out of things to buy with it, especially if it doesn’t fulfill your purposes in playing. Does having all this gold actually accomplish any goals for you guys outside of taking it out of the economy and/or using it to sending taunting pictures to Jormag? I ask this of both sides.

You too huh? I won’t use a material until it has 250 in the bank. I had to get the 500 stack expansion to free up bank space… but now I don’t want to use a material until it has 500 in the bank.

I share in your pain of full collectibles.
But as to why? I started paying more attention to the TP in order to make money. I came back from a long break about a month ago and only had 2 gold. I still sort of do it to make gold even though I no longer NEED it. But mostly now I play it for fun. I find it interesting mostly because I know so little. I’ve been learning a lot and I get a sense of satisfaction when I look at the pickup tab in the morning and see that my research has paid off with a nice profit. Its also a new aspect of an old game for me. Its almost like a different game inside of an existing game that has grown redundant.
This game is all about the credit card, and it can’t stay all about the credit card if players are generating too much gold.
This sums it up nicely.

Me three! XD Err, four! It’s even worse now that my Collection tabs can hold up to 1500 items; I’m already well on my way to having 1500 Mithril Ingots…
We should form a Hoarders guild. “For the Shinies!”
Don’t forget that champ boxes were added because no-one was touching the champs anywhere. They just stood there all day with the occasional one being downed in low level areas by a passing 80.
The orr champs like the baroness, eye etc just never got cleared, as you know if you wander in there to map. The boxes were added as a “hey! go explore and kill!, help each other kill them” if they get nerfed too bad it’ll be back to square one but with all the other events nerfed as well (embers, shelter, plinx etc etc).
We do need a new carrot of some sort out in the world i must agree, they’ve been using ls zerg content as filler for the absense of world farmable areas.

Make sure that you send me an invite to the crafting mat hoarder’s therapy group guild too.
MUST HAVE 250 of each cooking ingredient…buying would be cheating…glares angrily at various herbs…
….
I can’t solo Karka Vets…..I think we are now getting to the root of the actual issue here….
Besides, nobody is taking away the Champ Trains, just toning down the gold rewards.
You complain about every suggestion to make gold being provided to you, but disregard every other user that complains about how boring, degenerative and simplistic Champ farming is.
In the immortal words of a great educator, “Narrow-minded, Lazy and un-skillful is no way to go thru life, son.”
Except karka vets don’t reward the additional effort required to solo it over a regular karka. Nobody in the game could manage to make a veteran karka profitable over killing regulars in the same amount of time. The game also doesn’t differentiate between 50 lazy people killing 1 npc and 1 nonlazy person doing the same thing, but the nonlazy guy gets considerably less loot in the end because the 50 man moved off and killed dozens of other things in the same time.
Yeah, didn’t mean it was economically viable, just that the OPs skill / tactics may be in question if he is claiming he is unable to kill a Karka Vet solo.
Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
