Quick question, since we will soon be able to reset traits on demand and for free (as long as not in combat) what becomes of the Trait Reset crystals from the BL chests? Are they more scrap to toss out and consider it another loss to the system or will the players that have them be able to exchange/reimbursement?

They have been taken out of the loot table with one of the last patches. If you bought some with gems, you can raise a ticket and get your gems back.

But the ones I have sitting in my bank from BLTC chests are just trash now…?

Got few of them to they should add some refund like if you click on them after patch you get your gem back or somthink(save time for the GMs)

IF you get a gem refund for an item, they usually ask you to destroy it.

as a rather expensive reward from bltc’s (and expensive keys), or as an expensive purchase individually .. this thing we have is now worthless and soon to be useless .. and when asked if we will be reimbursed something that actually provides a useful value for money in its place the answer is what?

Dont come asking on the forums, only support can help you. I bought 6 2-week Royal Terrace Passes in December and then they introduced the permanent pass at start of January. I bought that one as well, raised a ticket to get a refund for the temporary ones that i hadnt used yet and got all gems refunded for them.

At that time there was a thread here about that topic and no dev answer.

My guess would be that direct purchases of Instant Trade Resets will be refunded in full, but drops from BL Chests wont.

Just send in a refund request to customer support.

Yeah, it is a little annoying, since those Black Lion Keys aren’t exactly cheap and I didn’t really want the trait reset things going in the chests. I have over 50 to use. Oh well, if the other changes I really want (like PvE skin locker) come through in a satisfactory way, I’ll eat the cost. I would prefer a refund for the second or sometimes third sets of armour I bought though.

Maybe a trading system could be created via the Black Lion Specialists? Just tossing an idea out there, but it would be nice if we could exchange such discontinued items like Instant Trait Reset (6 in bank) or Glory Boosters (10+) on a case by case basis. Like I could use some karma boosters than can no longer be acquired. Maybe use this as an opportunity to reintroduce them?! Other may be in immediate need of XP boosters to level alts or MF boosters if they’re running events. You’re already working on a vendor that will take our leftover tokens and currencies from the s1 LS releases that are useless now, this is no different.

I’ve gotten two of these from BLchests, and since they are going to be useless soon, I think it would be nice if we could turn them in for Wardrobe charges.

Respectfully, please don’t confuse ‘unused’ with ‘useless’.

I have not used them to date because I chose to save them for a time when I deemed it more appropriate to use. They were not useless, just pending use.

However; as of April 15th, they would move from unused… to useless.

Well, unless you bought them with gems directly but only got them from Chests, I doubt you will get a refund. You definately wont get one here on the forums.

You asked a question in the forums and got feedback from an anet employee. You also raised a support ticket and got an answer from customer service, that each case will be reviewed individually after the change. I honestly dont know whats left there to discuss about and Gaile mentioned not to raise support tickets or new forum posts concerning the feature patch.

I have from purchased Black Lion Chest drop, so better exchange it ingame for something. Like Transmutation Charges or a new BL Chest (OPEN).

It is the same situation as with glory boosters from BL chests – no refund, no replacement, useless after the changes.

Note that I do not agree with the decision and think that there should be some sort of exchange or similar arrangement. However, I cannot see them doing so because that would be inconsistent with their decision on glory boosters and lead to a lot of unhappiness for those who were messed over with now useless glory boosters.

A trade in of now useless/unneeded gem-store offered items (Glory Boosters, Instant Repair Kits, Trait Reset, etc.) to the BL ticket merchants for the equivalent value in Black Lion Keys, ticket scraps or back into Gems would satisfy 99%+ of customers. ANet wins because they don’t have to deal with customer service tickets, research and refund processing time while still maintaining the economic value of in-game items as well as keeping cash in hand.

Unfortunately, not going to happen. They have been quite clear about this when glory boosters were rendered useless. They cannot now reverse that decision for other items without causing justifiable unhappiness with people who lost out on those. Their general attitude has been that people are expected to use them while they are still functional, despite some people having far too many to possibly utilize. From a business perspective, seems like a very poor decision with a negative impact on customer relations but that is the decision they have taken.

TL;DR S.O.L.

1. They are not useless. They have a purpose and can be used for that purpose until mid April and we’ve been duly warned about the change … don’t be a fool and hold on to them thinking you MIGHT get something for them after the patch.
2. They never had ‘worth’ because you got them with the intention to use them, not sell them.

Well I’ve collected a stack of Glory Booster in case I go PVP after a “possible” Ranger fix.
And now AN states I can’t even exchange those to Transmutation Charges or something…
So… PVP? Never. No thanks…

I got stuck with 168 pvp glory boosters. I wish anet wouldn’t make us throw away all of the stuff we can’t possibly use or just don’t want to use that we either won as a reward or opened from a chest in place of something else we could have gotten that is still worth using.

This isn’t the first time and I’m sure it’s not the last. It’s been about 3 weeks since we were told not to delete our stacks of blade shards and nothing yet. Anet announced a trader merchant for them, but no date, nothing for 1.5 weeks or so now…

I haven’t bought any gems with cash because of this type of thing for a few months now and I used to spend $50-$100/month. My loss = their loss. GG
