post-patch price shifts
pavilion will most certainly crash the prices of T5 mats (I’m hoping they go back down to 1s). T6 mats may also drop, though this depends on the mob types in the pavillion. People may speculate on T6 mats, although it is likely this event will last 4 weeks at the minimum, so the price bottoming out won’t happen for a time.
Also keep in mind that the economic impacts of this patch is not limited to the pavillion. The Zehpyrite traders are also a big deal in trading commodities.
Quartz should go down :p
Of course, this is all under the assumption that the Pavilion will return in a largely-unchanged form. Drop rates might be changed, or the enemies might be different.
But I expect Quartz, Watchwork Sprockets and their associated recipes to fall in price.
What about the influx of new players? ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/New-to-TP/first#post2003009 ) if this still holds true, then chinese players will also converge onto the TP, and we’ll have a massive scale of prices changing due to supply/demand
The China TP is completely separate from the NA/EU TP. Their demand/supply won’t affect ours in the slightest.

where is the official statement regarding this? because from the post I mentioned, they want to keep all TP’s as one. afaik

There’s a post in there by Behellagh that has links to multiple threads about this topic. The China TP is separated from ours. (And a good thing too, since the inflation on there is apparently crazy. Twilight on the China TP apparently costs 5000g. Ours costs just 3000g.)

Um… so are chinese and our TP linked?
No, The Chinese TP is not linked to the NA/EU Trading post.
Yeah, Xbon asked him directly. XD Well, there you have it! Official confirmation.
I’m pretty sure he or someone else from ANet answered it before as well. And I like that he confirmed a few posts before that the 5000g Dusk never happened there. Simply rumors to cause fear and panic.
RIP City of Heroes
well here we go, everything is fluctuating already.
I made a lot of safe investments since I don’t have much gold (I only had like 150g) but most of it has doubled in price already.
My only investments that I intended for this patch was related to Liadri.
As always, ignoring TP fees.
36 stacks of Orrian Truffles
Cost: 2s Price: 4.4s
Profit: 180G
Speculation: Price will go up further than 4s. I hope for 8s at it’s peak, 6s at it’s average selling point.
3 stacks of Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew
Cost: 10-12s Price: 15s
Profit: 22G
Speculation: Market has not reacted yet to this item. I’m hopeful for it to double in price.
16 stacks of Bowl of Meat and Vegetable Stew
Cost: 2.5s Price: 3.92s
Profit: 56.8G
Speculation: Same as above.
Other Investments:
4000 stacks of Thick Leather
Cost: 8c Price: 36c
Profit: 1100G
Speculation: Price as of this time is due to speculation. Market is unclear at the moment – safe to hold on and be greedy
450 stacks of Silver Ore
Cost: 35c Price: 52c
Profit: 200G
Speculation: Can sell these before the event ends, hope prices fall back to purchase levels after patch, and respeculate
Well, it seems that the mass influx of mats from the Pavilion didn’t eventuate (ANet is silent so far on whether the lack of drops there is a bug or not, but I’m inclined to think it was intended), so I guess anyone who has stockpiles of Fine mats is safe as far as investments are concerned.
