There are so many mystic forge recipes that need 250 of a certain T6 fine crafting material that it feels impossible to think that you are against farming and grinding as you stated in a lot of videos while talking about the game. Can’t you put some 40, 67,143… Why is it always 250?

Today i went for farming ogres and found 2 players that were already doing it, so i asked them how many vials of powerful blood they have dropped and one of them dropped 3 in 4 hours and the other 2 in 2 hours, so i gave up farming.

How an i supposed to gather 250 of an item that drops average 1 per hour without doing the same boooooring thing over and over?

And btw i’m not looking to craft a legendary but one of those exotics with the recipe like eldrich scroll+mystic coin+…+… so i don’t think that its cost is justified by the skin because it has nothing that special, it’s just a bit prettier than other weapons of the same type.

I really would like a dev to tell us if they are happy with the current prices for t6 mats, because it seriously got rediculous.

ArenaNet didn’t think this trough: I guess they tried to make the game feel more rewarding by increasing the t6 prices. That would have worked, but guess what? Everyone needs t6 mats for everything. It doesn’t matter if you get 1g worth of a t6 mat if you need 1g worth of another OR you get 10g worth of a t6 mat and need 10g worth of another. The only thing this changed is that crafting got a lot more expansive in general. The game doesn’t feel more rewarding at all, because the increase in what you get is exactly the same as the increase in what you have to pay. If you don’t like farming t6 mats and prefer to get your money by doing dungeons etc, you’re gonna have a bad time. Rising the demand of t6 mats was probably the stupidest thing Arenanet decided, because right now, the best way to get money is (except playing the tp) is pure grind.
Congratulations ArenaNet!

This really makes me want the bots to return.

At this rate the drop rates or the gold needed to get them is just as bad if not worse than the asian grind mmos that sell material gambling sacks for real money. The only thing lacking are weapons exploding when you upgrade them.

Do fractals without MF armor!

Last night I figured that if I use non MF armor, the loot bags drop often (otherwise you will drop equipment frequently). And the bags will give you T6 items most of the time.

With two fractal runs last night I had more than ten T6 items of different kinds.

It’s pretty obvious they wish to frustrate the player to the point they’d rather just buy Gems, instead of playing to get whatever the want.

Nah, frustration leads to leave the game, as much ye, a fool can be tempted to waste cash with their " i want all, and now"

Do fractals without MF armor!

And what exactly would be the purpose, running without MF armor set, if not getting way less good loot? Meh Your “feeling” is an illusion , playing a lottery loot based game. Far from the truth.

I agree that is a bit extreme. It would have made more sense to make it 50 of the lower tier item instead of 250 notably for the end game items like blood or other such things for people who don’t have wads of cash to throw at the horrible gem to gold conversion rates all day.

I am trying to find a good solution to the terrible loot issues plaguing us all now in this game, can’t seem to get powerful anythings to drop without doing the mmo equivalent of shooting an apple on the head of an asura while blind folded while standing on a tippy toe rubbing my tummy while patting my head. It really shouldn’t be that hard.

I was at frostgorge for about 45min. I found 2 T6 bones and 1 T6 blood in that time. But about 10 of each T5 of those. I don’t know about the price of the highest dust, but if you farm there long enough you are bound to get a stack of T5 which you can transmute in the MF with skill points.

This. 100% and without any discussion, this. This should be stickied somewhere so everyone knows exactly what to expect.

I was never a fan of being able to buy any type of ingame currency with real-money, on the level or through 3rd party sites, and now we are seeing one of the major drawbacks of that system. As someone else said in another post, high end gear is either “time consuming or wallet breaking”.

It’s just that ANET has now made the term “time consuming” something almost unreachable by giving us Diminishing Returns, gating rare materials needed for recipes (only drop from one place, i.e., Ectos only gained from Salvaging), and making the amount of those rare materials monstrous. They have specifically done this in the attempt to drive players to spend real money on ingame gold/gems in order to continue to make a profit. It’s disgusting, but those are your options. We know in which direction ANET is pushing the players.

Requirements shouldnt go from 5/15 to 250 in one tier. The requiered materials should only double at most per tier. So 30 ektos for ascended.

I find it quite peculiar that they only went with the 1 byte storage cap (2[sup]8[/sup] =256) as the number of items. It seems as though they just wanted a “full stack”, regardless how big that stack is.

[edit: The sup tag still doesn’t work, hopefully that will be fixed at some point, in the meantime please pretent that the 8 is superscripted]

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

I think this was partly a knee-jerk reaction to the amount of gold sellers and botters. For the longest time, people complained about gem to gold ratio and how it was much more profitable to buy from gold sellers. By putting in more value at the items, they lowered the value of gold/coin thus rendering these gold sellers with less advantage than they had before. As the items inflate, the value or buying power of gold goes down, and thus it wouldn’t give any incentive for the buyers to buy when they could earn theoretically, more by farming themselves. Of course, with everyone thinking gold is getting less and less valuable, you’ll need more and more to compensate for buying the same stuff. On the plus side, repair and wp costs will feel less, but on the downside, straight-up farming, dungeon rewards will be less appealing.

Don’t disturb me, I have a cat in me at the moment.

Yeah the “coincidence” between 250 x of a precursor and inventory limt being 250 is…..well… really silly to put it nicely.

IMO, the x ammount of precursor required should be 150. This not only makes progress little bit quicker but you feel like you need “only” 50 more of it again to craft something again that requires 150 of a precursor – it gives apositive feeling that the next goal is not as long/tedious as again when you notice you still have 100 of a certain precursor.

Otherwise just increase the limit to 500.

I’m still working on crafting my own exotics. Beserkers requires the blood and sometimes I wish I could donate my own instead of hoping for a drop.
The devs could easily make a conversion like they did with the jewels. Whereas a certain number(less than 250, more like 50) of potent blood + some other dropped item = powerful blood. Use this for each of the tiers of mats and you have a reason to be in lower level maps because you can always convert the lower level mats.

Well I got all my T6 materials from Heavy Mold Bags back when they would sell for 20 copper or something like that… I Bought stacks and stacks of it. What I didn’t open I saved for later and it paid off since now each sack sells for 1 silver (crazy right ?)

So either buy the bags or idk :x
