So I had a bunch of +1 agony infusions from running fractals. I found out that you can combine them with artificer and get better ones. (There’s a wiki about it). Its stated in the wiki that there is no limit on how high you can combine them. Currently on the tp the highest is +14. And its selling for 555g. According to the wiki you can theoretically make a +30, however it would require over 800 million +1s and 8 million gold. Is that even possible? Assuming you bought every +1 off the tp and did nothing but fractals since launch (yes I know fractals were not available at launch) there isnt enough bag/bank room for that many. Not to mention the 8 million gold that you would need. If there was a way id love to hear about it. Otherwise im just going to assume that its there for illustration purposes only.

I heard at fractured release people dropped +10 infusion and +2 or more.

Now you only drop +1 …..because fractals are too rewarding.

I believe someone said +30 was the highest, that there was no item code for +31.

I stand corrected on the amount of infusions needed. However, that still leaves the orginal question, it is even possible? Not including the gold needed, is there enough bag space/bank space available to hold that many agony infusions AND Thermocatalytic reagents?

Yes, because you upgrade them to higher tiers. You don’t need that many stacks of +1 agony infusions. The Thermocatalytic reagents is also calculated from scratch. Assuming you’re going to use that many +1’s. Now the time it would to craft it all would take ages, and you don’t need a +30 agony infusion at all (yet). But yes, it can be possible to craft it.

Anything above a +10 is a waste of money, hell, you only need +5’s to be completely safe at 50.

That being said, I don’t see them going past +15’s, with current prices costing something like 1.6k gold to make and a 2k listing price to make a bit of profit, I don’t see anyone ever buying it ^^

If you do not equip intermediate infusions, you need 2^(n-1) 1-infusions to make an n-infusion. This means that you need 536,870,912 1-infusions to make a 30-infusion, as Mystic said.

If you equip every intermediate infusion and overwrite them with the next one, you need (2^n – 1) 1-infusions to make an n-infusion. Here is an example: You equip a 1-infusion, overwrite it with a 2-infusion, overwrite this one with a 3-infusion and so forth, all the way to a 30-infusion. This requires 1.073.741.823 1-infusions.

The time it takes to craft an infusion is 1s. I think the 2nd one is faster... maybe 1/2 as long? iuno. let’s just say it takes 1/4 second to upgrade an infusion. Then it would take 67,108,864 seconds just to make all the +2 infusions needed for a +30 infusion. that’s 2.13 years. Total, it would take over 4.25 years to go from +1’s to +30. Now let’s assume one person with lots of gold is paying 10,000 people to do that crafting for them (kinda like buying it off the TP). each person would have to do 3.72 hours of crafting. not farming; crafting - watching the bar slide across the screen. each person would need to start with 214.7 stacks of +1 infusions.

I actually foresee high-end infusions becoming something akin to Armbraces in GW1; as stores for vast amounts of wealth. I’m not sure we’d ever see them become a unit of currency in themselves (since few things in the game are anywhere near that expensive, and the TP works well for just about everything), but they may become the “showpiece luxury good” for extremely wealthy players.

lol, but seriously. I don’t think a +30 infusion is meant to be used by anyone. Not at those prices anyway. And you don’t need it. I think by the time anet is gonna open fractal to go higher than 50, they’ll adjust the recipe.
