Thinking I was going to make 3 pieces of celestial armor since I had the recipes for the celestial insignia was a big fail. I am a little ticked that I have to also get the recipe for the actual armor piece. This means I would have to spend lots of gold for a full set.

IMO its extremely unfair to players who did not participate in the LS. All players should be able to access all types of stat armor through playing the game instead of having to compete for prices at the freaking trading post.

All players do have access. You said so yourself, the recipes are on the TP. The recipes cost about a gold each – if you have trouble getting that, why do you think you can make the armor? The material cost for it is more than the recipe.

What you should be angry at is time-gating. It’s going to take you a minimum of five days per piece to craft.

You can get lucky and get a charged quartz from your home quartz node.

You didn’t read my post right so I will say it again……..

Players shouldn’t have to use the TP to get these recipes. The recipes should be obtainable through doing core content like WvW , Open-world PvE or dungeons.

Also, some recipes are can be high like 5 gold…….

It just seems to be out of place compared to obtaining other armor stats. Celestial isn’t the best after all.

I understand. The TP is an integrated part of the game, though. There’s nothing preventing you from getting the recipes other than money. You missed getting them in the event and that sucks, but nothing is stopping you from getting them now. If you couldn’t get them at all, I would be angry too. But you can.

I took part in the event and I bought most the the recipes off the TP during. Some recipes dropped for me more times than I needed and others didn’t drop at all.

If every single recipe was given to every single player… then the entire concept of recipes would be obsolete.

Oh and hey, you know what’s obtainable in-game, same chance for every player? Precursors. Soooo fun.

unfair is probably the most misused term around here. It is UNFORTUNATE for you if you did not take part in the relevant LS for a reward, but it is not unfair. Unfair would be: you did the same content/effort as the people who received the reward and did get nothing of it.

Buy recipes.

im pretty peeved i missed flame and frost, not for the flame and frost content cause i hear it was terrible (dungeon was fun) but because of the Dye’s as i like to collect them, now well the prices speak for themselves.

The dyes are coming back this week. Prices should drop.

Buy recipes.

Only for exotic insignias, inscriptions and jewels. The items themselves are learned through discovery process. Except for celestial gear, for some reason.

The problem with this scenario is the armor is account bound. So in order to get the gear, you one have to be the crafter, two be the miner, and three be the wearer.

There is lots of gear that is only obtainable through the TP because it was temporary content, for example Azurite Jewels and Sentinel Inscriptions/Insignias.

The reason they introduced recipes for the armor pieces itself and didnt let you learn them through discovery is that they were used as a sink for oversupplied mats like silk and leather.

Kind of an old thread but it now costs 70 gold just for the recipes for a set of celestial armor. Anyone know if they will ever bring back a way to get these or let you buy them with karma like the other recipes in game, or should i just deal with it and buy them.

sounds like ascended celestial might be cheaper than exotic celestial…
I remember when these recipes were like 5s each and I decided I didn’t want to invest in them :P

Thankful I spent the gold to get all of them then. Yikes!
