For the first 4 backpacks for helper crafting it requires bronze iron steel and dark steel, a jeweler cannot make these items, correct me if I’m wrong but I thought the purpose was to allow the craft to use materials it creates to make the backpack?

Considering its been in the game for months for the China release and from what I hear the recipes are the same, I doubt its something that would be considered a bug that would be fixed. Its either working as intended, or it was an oversight at the time that they won’t change for fear of annoying the people who already crafted it.

I’m pretty sure it’s an oversight. It’s the only profession that has this problem. When you drill down into the sub-recipe in the improved crafting UI it doesn’t tell you that it isn’t a jeweler recipe either. You just can’t click the craft button.

I’m fairly certain that the jeweler recipes were meant to use copper ingots, silver and platinum ones.

Agreed. I’m sure this must be a bug or an oversight. (Like how Jewelers initially couldn’t refine Sheets of Ambrite for Nomad’s jewelry due to the refinement recipe not being available for Jewelers.) Wait for ANet to patch it.
