My Quick guide to getting a legendary
I know you’re being helpful but some things here are inefficient.
-It’s ridiculously expensive to promote anything under t5. Cores to Lodestones are perfectly fine, you just need to do the math and see if it’s cheaper
-I would never suggest wasting laurels. They’re not like mystic coins. You only get a fixed amount. Even if you want to waste laurels, it’s probably even better selling the dyes rather than wasting agents.
-You should never farm any materials, whether that be T6 or lodestones. What you should be farming is gold. If you farm a specific item, 99% of the time it’s from mobs that are spaced out. Your kill/drop rate per hour goes way down.

Notice how I mentioned in the lines how some of it can be readily bought or drops so easily that you don’t need to farm too hard…
As for farming, the skritt are in one area in WvW. They drop the scrap and heavy bags at high rates. The bags can be sold or used to get t5 – t6 mats. I suggest selling the bags.
I’d still reccomend using the laurels for this. If you are going for a legendary, its a no brainer! Legendary seekers will not be using laurels for dyes or ascended which will be gotten in other ways (guilds missions/dungeons and fractals/ enemy drops) that you’ll be already doing with your overly helpful guild.

-Skritt bags are good, but there are simply better gold/hr opportunities out there. Not to mention the mobs are highly spaced out and you are open for killing from enemies
-Again, you are wasting laurels since they are a fixed resouce. By no means should you be using your agents on upgrading t1-t4. Upgrading t5-t6, you’re still losing out, but I can understand.
But upgrading core to lodestone using wine is the smartest use of resources.
Gold can be gained at any rate. Laurels cannot.

The wine is only good on the last two tiers… as the formula for mystic binding agents was made more efficient instead of 2 to 1 for all types with wine.
With binding agents, you need 8 t1, 6 t2, 4 t3, or 2 t4 for promotion via binding. So its a trade off based on how many you can get at a time as you get 4 t 2, 3 t3, 2 t4, or 1 t5 respectfully in return with them instead 2 to 1 across the board with wine. Its more based on how many you want of each tier returned vs. just getting the end result (2 Core→ lodestone with wine).
In both cases, Its 6 t 2 to 3 t3 and 4 t 3 mats to 2 t 4 with binding then use wine for cores ( the 2 t4 returned to get 1 lodestone). This would be the route to go than spend 1 gold for 4 wines.

I’ve got everything together for my legendary short of the precursor. In reality, isn’t the guide simply: farm cof p1 zerk war/mes group $$$? That’s what I did at least short of the non-monetary pieces of the legendary and that shaved off a good 7-8 months of using the farming you outlined above. cof p1 farm with a pro group farming 4-8 hours a day will get you your legendary inside a month or two - especially if you purchase black lion salvage kits on all your token trades + rares you get.
I’ve done the math, its around 1000 to 1300 gold per legendary for the raw materials which with an ideal cof p1 group (8 minute clears including load times + setting up the path) results in about 18 days of played time to get the gold necessary for it.
What Vol is trying to say is that in the long run, you’ll wish you had those laurels for something else. The laurels are only acquired at a fixed rate of approximately 40 per month whereas gold can be farmed at any rate for the elonian wine. Using your resources for anything less thakittento t6 conversion is a waste when you can sell t1-t4 materials and just focus on core to lodestone conversions. I agree with Vol, your laurels are better used for the things you can’t normally buy with gold (or want to combine with fractal running).
For crafting legendaries efficiently, its important to allocate your resources to where they count. Its better to save laurels for ascended infusion with +20% gold upgrade because you must farm gold. Its even better use them as secondary karma for obsidian shards rather than gold. Also if your spending your ingredients to upgrade t1-t4 materials why would you spend a MBA and a crystal to make a fragment, when that MBA and crystal could be better spent making a lodestone?
