I would just like a explanation why when I open a Unidentified Gray Dye ( Rare ) I get Fine or worse, Shouldn’t If I Craft and open a RARE i should get a RARE when it even say’s opening this will give one RARE dye…. makes no sense to me. Also I would like a response from Anet on this.

Yeah they are a waste. I only made that mistake once before I knew I could get a lesser one out of it.

Craft a rare unidentified dye today!*

*Opening may not give a rare dye. Do not ingest. Keep away from children.

TIP: Sell them….

Report them as a bug; rare dye created = less than rare quality received.
Then after reporting that 1st one, do as Brother Grimm said and sell them.

Double-click to identify a Common, Uncommon or Rare Dye from the Gray spectrum.

As Khisanth had shown. In the description it says you can get a rare or lesser quality. These are intended to be random in quality. It is not a bug.
