Has anybody grabbed one of the laurel vendor’s crafting item bags? If so, what’d you get?

I don’t know, but I was surprised that all tiers are priced the same.

I bought a Heavy crafting bag and got something like this:
1 Armored Scale, 1 Vicious Claw, 1 Elaborate Totem

It is not worth it.

What are the starter kits?

There are “account bound” starter kits for each of the crafting disciplines. But they cost 3 laurels each, so I won’t be able to report my findings until Wednesday.

I got a Powerful Blood, Elaborate Totem, and Powerful Venom Sac.

45 silver on the TP for em… more than anything my dailies have gotten me before.

well. I think it is not worth wasting laurels on crafting bags even if they guarantee T6 mats. Now the drop rate of heavy moldy bags is quite crazy so you are bound to get loads of mats anyway. Which leads to massive drop in T6 mats prices soon so the only things of value (if you want to craft something exotic) will be globs of ecto.

So it looks like the answer is 3 uncommon crafting mats of that level. Yeah, not worth it if you ask me.

I bought two of these heavy material bags yesterday. It wasn’t worth it. In the first one I got a claw, venom sac, and blood. In the second, I got 2 dust, and blood. Where as, I farmed CS for 15 minutes, got 30 moldy bags and got about 10 t6 materials w/o spending laurels. I’ll be saving mine for the ascended gear.

Just wondering if any one has purchased one of the starter kits yet and what they contain?

Yes, if anyone buys one of those things please post the information since ArenaNet decided they didn’t need to provide that info in the game.

In no way are they are ripoff. You’ve got to remember, they’re Crafting Starter Kits. They’re not designed for the guy who’s capped all eight crafting disciplines at 400, they’re designed for the guy who is just starting out or is a low level. And with all the materials you get for just three days of doing daily achievements, I’d say it’s fantastic deal.

I’m more interested in knowing the quantities of mats you get from T5 bags. Am I wrong in assuming it’s a waste to salvage exotics over rares for ectos?

I’ll maybe do some exploring of the class boxes… right after I get at least one ascened amulet and a permanent kharma buff to stick in it.
