I'm disappointed in this update
And u forgot the new achievments are pure Grind. Look at Hunger Minigame u must pick up 2500 Items, lol? Im doing nothing from this event and this is the first time.
You guys must be new to the game. The second patch of the month is the balance patch and not the big content patch. The content added is just there to keep people playing till the next real content patch is added on August 6th. They dont release major content additions every two weeks because if they did then a large majority of the player base wouldnt have time to finish the content they added previously.
Go check the balance notes, youll notice quite a bit of useful things added this patch. Jump over to the ranger, warrior, guardian forum and check out how happy they are. If your playing the game so much that your managing to burn through the content every two weeks, then in about two months youll have new gear to chase down in addition to new living world content. If you finish that then i suggest making an alt and gear him out in said new ascended gear.
Welcome to the game, glhf.

You must have missed the big announcement.
They recently advertised that they are moving to a bi-weekly living story cadence, instead of a monthly one.
quit complaining. Above poster is right, second patch isn’t the content. although I do think they go overboard with the kittenen achievements.

The real balance patches are only every two months.
You seem to be assuming everyone has the same interests and preferences as you, and that isn’t the case at all.
Personally I’m very happy with this update. I, like many people, do like the minis and I’m pleased that for once we actually get to earn them in game instead of just buying them from the store. (Which is still better than RNG but a bit boring.)
I also like that we can actually do Living Story content at the same time as normal PvE. I can’t remember the last time I’ve had time to do dailies or dungeons because I was busy doing limited time content. Now I can do both together.
I also think you’re jumping to conclusions with who will win. From what I’ve seen the only thing Evon has going for him is a Fractal that appeals to GW1 lore fans. Honestly I thought cheap waypoints would decide it.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Well said, I like that they do living story in the first place. Sometimes it’s better than others but they are still figuring out what works with gw2 and what isn’t and they gotta spend some time trying new things. at least they continue to learn from past mistakes. the forums are the minority of player base and if you don’t believe that you are naive. The vast majority is out there playing the game.
@Jemmi.6058 “bi-weekly living story cadence” is not equal to big content updates every two weeks. Its one big content update a month at the begining of the month, followed by a minor living story update and a balance (big on some months, huge on others thank you @Navzar.2938) patch middle of the month.
IE: Secret of Southsun; Big content update, changed the way southsun looked and added events, hell it changed the way people farmed. The later may update added a small lving story update and did a balance patch.
Dragon bash; Huge content update with some living story in June; there were coffers to get from the holos, lots of achievments to grab, Lions arch was completly re-decorated, Lots of mini games were added (Now were they good mini games, not really but they still count as content). Later in June you got very little content added but you did get some living story stuff. the dungeon was a little cool but there was very little reason to run it more than once, unless your a die hard achievment freak. That patch was really about, surprise surprise the balancing. Noticing a pattern yet?
IE July comes along, we get a new zone, and new mini games, and more skins to chase after, small living story element. And now the latest patch. Guess what the big game changing things are, surprise surprise, the balance notes. you could argue that things you do in this patch will affect later patchs but as far as content in the here in now, the balance notes are the only thing to write home about.
So in summary the second half of the month content additions have been, may: fight canach in a small dungeon, june: fight some pirates in a medium sized dungeon (that aeather blade dungeon was no where near as big as the flame and frost one or any other dungeon in the game for that matter), July: we get 3 mini games instead of a dungeon.
So honestly, what were you expecting. Second of the month patches are for balance and they throw some fluff in to keep you playing till the next big content patch. I think its great and hope they continue with this formula.
I dunno if I’m disappointed.. but for me personally, far too much emphasis on pvp for a pve story.
Omg, I don’t like the new content that was absolutely free!

Heaven forbid anyone give the developers any feedback.

OP kind of came out more complaining than pointing out the flaws in this patch. ALso the way the OP wrote made it seem like everyone has the same ideals
