I think it’s bad form for ghosts to tell living players the position of their opponents. So no, they should not be able to see players from anywhere.

I think it would be interesting if you could sacrifice some motes to uncover the locations of survivors (ghostly radar or whatever)… maybe even ping one of them for anyone to see (living or dead). I don’t know if that would end up being unbalanced or something though.
The callout stuff doesn’t bother me so much, since knowing the location of another survivor doesn’t give you any huge advantage if you’re still trying to survive, and really only hurts them that much if there’s a ghost with a lot of motes saved up who’s looking for blood (and I haven’t really come across that; by the time it’s down to 2 or 3, most of the motes are mostly spent).

the way most people win, including myself sometimes if have more than 2 or 3 games in a row where im not the last survivor, win is by standing in a place were even if the karka is dropped ontop of you it cant attack you
Um, you can see survivors on the minimap when you’re a ghost. They’re the orangish-red dots you see moving around or standing still.

what if, they found a really secluded area?
It’s still pretty decent range, i.e. near the edge of the minimap in relation to you. I’ve not had any issues tracking anyone down when I decide to.

what do we do with the survivors who got themselves to some very secluded area before any other survivors or ghosts got to them?
not very cool with everyone else waiting for the game to end.

hunger is capped at 6 at the moment.
uncap it so they die from starvation faster unless they really have a lot of rations.
They could just make it required to kill people, making it so hiding is pointless. For example, remove health pickups and only allow additional health to be gained by taking it from defeated players that had any left. The bushes can still stay, as a 1 time use thing that only counteracts hunger.
Ghosts could be given map wide radar, since they’re supposed to have it, but in comparison to the game it’s based on, ghosts are only supposed to interfere when the survivors are being boring. Map wide radar would certainly make it end faster, but playing hide and seek while hunting is kind of the point. As a punishment for idling, karka should just spawn on you every ~2 minutes if you haven’t moved a certain distance.
No if anything they could give them a little less radar i think they find them too fast.

Range seems fine to me, I generally don’t have much trouble finding the last couple people.

well, sometimes, not many people answer the survey.
and when they, the results are kinda one sided.

How are you having an issue finding the last survivors? You can literally zip across the map within seconds using the 5 skill. The minimap also has a pretty huge radius when for the orange dot. The less people alive the more ghosts there will be meaning it will be easier to locate survivors
Restrict “desert” areas. Give more reliable ways to get more arrows. Less places to hide + more arrows = more agressive play and less campers, thus shorter games

Hmm, I got second once (the last survivor being first, naturally), while being a ghost. Killing suvivors with karka’s is the only fun thing in that entire PvP scene.

Yes go ahead and blame the system. If you make it to the last 2-3, you should have a ton of points already if you play the game and not hide in some bush away from the action. At that point, there won’t me much time left to AFK as a ghost. If you die early, you can get a ton of motes in short time.
Hint: Don’t spend motes on the Karka unless you know what you’re doing.
Maybe it’s just me, but surely if someone has managed to survive to the last 2 standing, then the people who have failed to get that far should not be able to kill those still standing. I don’t mind traps being deployed, I detest the “Call of the Karka” ability.
Why should those who have done well to get that far be punished by those whom have failed.

being killed is not failed.
and this game is about surviving both other survivors and ghosts.
you do not deserve a win if you let ghosts kill you.
As soon as there’s only a few (3-5) people remaining, their position should show up on the map, but not for ghosts, and it should be radar styled – updated every ~5 seconds. At this point, the reward for killing should be multiplied, while the reward for just surviving should be reduced to give an incentive for not just sitting there.
Motes should be changed so that the first to die aren’t rewarded with a good source of them. Ghosts need to generate motes, say 1 every 10 seconds. As it is now, when the last 2 survivors are just sitting on the opposite ends of the island and both have ~7 rations remaining while all the ghosts just sit around unable to do anything, that’s a boring couple of minutes.

It really is, though. “Survival” pretty much exactly means “not being killed.”
If all you care about is high score – just get motes when dead, they’re good for 3 (1+2) points apiece.
easiest way to fix this problem is to limit the amount of ration a person can carry at any given time. Max 3 for example

I think 5 is more reasonable.
And the suggestion above is nice as well.
Make the bush regenerate your health immediately, instead of give you a ration.
And make karka being able to be killed after like 15 sec after summoned so survivors can retake scavenge spot from ghosts.
Or adding some wild life that you can hunt down and get ration. This will make survivors think about changing their weapon into ration.
hmmm kill-able karkas.

make them kill-able right off the smart.
