Last night waypointing free around Lions Arch and Black Citadel I felt a little laggy after an hour or so,

I went to Queensdale to Charge my quartz and I swear those half men and half horse type yelled " Hold your tummy in" as I waddled past. ( they may have said “For the Tamini” though)

I’m still undecided. While I definitely want to see the Fall of Abaddon more than the Thaumanova Reactor Incident, a vote for Evon is essentially a vote for more RNG. I mean, come on, even his economic incentive is nothing more than a shill for him to sell more of his stock! :P

I vote Evon, because I actually kinda like Kiel. She loves her job, Council would run her and I think she secretly wants to loose. Kiel for Lionguard Air Force Captain, Evon for Council!

I personally will vote for Ellen Kiel because…

-Kiel will reduce WayPoint prices, and I use them a lot!!
Black Lion Keys on the other hand, I’ll probably not buy a single one in 4 weeks, but WayPionts…
-For what I care about Abbadon, or the reactor… I’m a casual player, not someone who grinds dungeons, thus my opinion in remains neutral.
-Also, I’m more used to Kiel since I’ve seen her in events, but I’ve never heard of Gnashblade ever before.
-And, last but not least, Quaggan supports her, all your arguments are invalid!

Kiel didn’t do anything. She merely herded all us heroes to do the dirty work for her, and claimed the successes as her own.

Recruiting capable people to help achieve an aim that was beyond one person (really, for those people thinking they should get it, I challenge you to try to complete the entire karka queen meta event alone, let alone everything else) is doing something. She also had her own moments – figuring out that Canach was responsible for the animal attacks, and then arranging for the contracts to be loaded onto a Lionguard ship that could then be evacuated and scuttled without the Consortium being able to prove any foul play.

There’s also a certain limit to how strong a role any NPC can take. You’re trying to hold her to a standard that no NPC could hold up to – I can just imagine the complaints if ArenaNet had had Kiel become a champion-level friendly character that could solo all of the monsters while all we did was watch.

Well if you compare her to Rox and Brand she was entirely useless as a combatant. I argue it was really a reflection of he policy. I would like to point out she is kinda stupid she reached out and touched the electric fence in AR saying “o it shocked me” really what did u think would happen. People call her an adventure but she really doesn’t have the experience or wit to survive as one. 2ndly she is a soldier use to fallowing orders and is only running cause she was ordered to do so. A person who politics are to blow stuff up instead of negotiating will lead to utter destruction of LA. Vote EVON you never know he might be able to reduce the BLT tax of core in his own interest though.

I think Republicans throw away the election with vise president candidate they selected i think it was cause of growing national depth and they wanted to distance themselves from it. Comments she made competently destroyed their campaign. I wouldn’t say any thing disrespectful like Kiel reminds me of Sarah Palin though.

Gnashblade is a proven winner, as his company is probably the largest and most successful non-government entity in all of Tyria. Kiel is a soldier. Great at taking orders and a hard worker, but if you put her in charge she will flounder.

However, one thing politics have told me is that you never get what was promised, and even if you do, there are often a 100 other hidden and unwanted changes that pop up after the election. Evon seems like one heck of a shady character and I don’t trust him.

Which is exactly why you should trust him. What politician has ever been trustworthy? They’re all liars who will sell you out at the first chance. With Evon, he doesn’t hide this. Which makes him the more honest of the two candidates. You know exactly where you stand with Evon (which should be face-to-face so it won’t be so easy to be stabbed in the back).

Evon’s motivation is profit. Profit comes from keeping markets open with goods, services, and coins freely exchanging hands. As long as his pockets remain lined with gold, he doesn’t really care what anyone else does.

Kiel, on the other hand, puts on a nice facade. However, she’s got serious control issues. Ever listen to some of her dialogue? Give her power and watch the Lionguard transformed into the White Mantle Version 2.0. She would institute more restrictions; all in the name of greater security, of course.

The choice is clear. Vote for the candidate you can trust to be untrustworthy. Vote Evon Gnashblade!

a good way to see who is going to win is look at number of replies for vote EVON and Vote Kiel. Shows how active there suport is so if you are voting evo say so here. It will kitten off the Kiel people. If they reply here quote them tank you for there support. That should get them out of here.

Precisely why Kiel shouldn’t be on the council. She is better suited to the field, where she can ‘spearhead’ the war on the EDs instead of doing paperwork and trying to make legislature (not the Kiel-style of action.) I personally think the number of replies to a thread is fairly irrelivant, especially when compared to the value of the contents of those replies. Imo Evon has a good portion of both blade and gnash.

It’s precisely because he’s a corrupt, two-faced merchant that players will be voting for him. There’s no facade or pretense; with Evon, what you see is what you get. He’s honest about his dishonesty, motivations, and intentions.

Kiel, on the other hand, is on the brink of turning to the dark side; power corrupts and all that. She has an Aetherblade airship under her control, she’s dressing as a pirate now (underlying rationale for doing so notwithstanding), and is seeking a seat on the Captain’s Council.

Heck, for all we know Kiel may actually be Aetherblade (or a member of some other nefarious faction; underground surviving sect of the White Mantle, anyone?) and this entire string of events a false flag operation to get her elected to a position of power and influence.

Evon is already corrupted in a sense; thus he can’t pull a potential bait-and-switch on us like Kiel. He’s already suspect and thus we’ll be keeping an ever-vigilant eye on him; as should be done with any elected official. The unquestioning hero worship of Kiel and the belief she can do no wrong is the real danger.

Besides, it’s not every day you get to witness a war between the gods. Exploding Asura reactors, on the other hand, are a non-event. It would be news if an Asura reactor didn’t blow up. The Thaumanova Meltdown…meh.

While Even Gnashblade’s success as a merchant cannot be denied, you cannot forget that some of it has come through exploiting his customers, and his so-called ‘offer’ is merely a cover to seek to exploit us, the protectors of Tyria, even more. A vote for Gnashblade is a vote to put him in position to leverage even more exploitation. Indeed, Evon’s private enterprise should be the very reason we are wary of him – can we trust him not to use that leverage to form a monopoly for himself to twist the entire economy of Lion’s Arch to line his own pockets at the expense of everyone else? Can we reasonably expect his motivation for running to be any different? While it is true that anyone placed in power will need to be watched for abuses of that power, is it not better to have leaders show them to at least have a chance of holding their integrity?

You claim that Kiel not seeking the post by her own initiative is to her detriment as a leader, but history has shown that many of the best leaders, those that have proven to genuinely seek the betterment of those they lead, have risen to power not by their own ambition, but due to having that responsibility thrust upon them by circumstance or promotion. Lol You say that as if it’s unique to him, rather than all of the popular candidates. You’d be (un)surprised at how few people vote with their heads. That includes voters of all factions, be it Kiel, Evon, Obama, Romney, or anyone else when they have a choice.

It also depends on how you define “logically”. This is a game after all, so the integrity and competence of the candidates don’t really matter. Anyone voting based on that wouldn’t be logical either. It’s all about Waypoints & Reactor vs Keys &Abaddon and which personality they like best.

Edit: Oh and Gnashblade certainly isn’t two faced. We’ve really only seen a scheming business side of him.

As far as integrity goes Evon would be the first non-pirate on the council. I bet he will decrease taxes on trade would be one of his first initiatives to improve his own business. Which would put more g in our pocket.

I have to admit, Gnashblade has me won over for two reasons:

1) The Fractal that comes from him winning sounds WAY more interesting than the one Kiel has to offer.

2) Gnashblade just sounds like a far more interesting character and would do great things to shake up the LS later down the line, which would be better for us players. I can just see him voting into situations that mean better profit for him, but worse situations that we have to fight out of… or better yet, he takes over LA and turns it into a corporate nightmare, and then we have to over throw him.

Kiel comes across to me as too much of a goody-two-shoes type of person. She’d just vote against anything that sounded ‘risky’, which to me would make pretty lame LS content. Let’s at least have a character that will cause some scandal and some interesting scenarios.

Of course, I do see the whole thing with the Black Lion Keys being an issue as people feel this will encourage Anet to include more RNG Lottery systems in future, but don’t forget, this will only be for 4 weeks. And who here doesn’t have nearly a stack of 20 Black Lion Chests in their Bags or Bank? They’re like the Crates from TF2. You can never get rid of them! I’d love an excuse to buy some gems and open a few of those with the Key cost being reduced.

Plus, I find it hard to believe that people are finding it difficult to pay for WP costs. Seriously? Can you guys honestly not afford 2 or 3 silver?

I still remember walking in la in gw1, i dont get that same enchanted feeling anymore, now that it looks like luxon’s won over kurzicks in gw1 without our knowing. PLUS the fall of abbadon, it could explain what happened to the human gods we loved in gw1 but have now vanished in gw2…….and i know all the rumors going around, but I and everyone else wants the truth!

And of course if evon doesnt do what he promises by the end of the year, its not like he can say no too 2 MILLION PLAYERS. he’d be completly outnumbered lol.

The Fall of Abbadon fractal predates Pre-Searing GW1 by over 1,000 years, and is about when the other gods kicked Abbadon’s butt so hard the sea floor rose up to become a desert. So no, not really.

Uh wait what? The pirates we get are mostly the annoying corsairs you would meet trough prophecies and nightfall. They are kinda the guys that made LA what it is with other outlaws/Saul DAlessio after the Human kings died/ran away.
If anything the entire centrepiece of DR is based on the EVF structure design (well the old German and Gothic architecture is quite general).

How do you know that the Fractal will allow you to do this? What will you do if the Fractal doesn’t do this and just turns out to be a normal run where you play a second-hand or even third-hand role.

We don’t! It’s a risk. But we don’t know what the reactor Fractal will be either. Plus the new Fractal would have to scale too. So very likely the low level version of the new Fractal won’t be much. But the thing is, no matter how epic the Fractal ends up being, it will be a disappointment because we want so much from it! But that’s cool, I think. Aim for the moon, you might still hit a mountain if you miss. Besides which, I would still like to be in the war, even if I am just foot soldier under King Doric. It’s still the Fractal I want!

Since mr. E(von Gnashblade) is the one that can get Marjory Delaqua back and actually did something for LA (get us involved) he has my vote.
Plus he will definitely cause more interesting living stories…

This pretty much sums it up for me. If you hate having more RNG in your RNG, and you’d rather do something than has a 100% chance to save money instead of a .0000000000001% chance of making you money, supporting the BL chests is a horrible idea.

-Kiel pretty much made us do all the work in southsun, then swooped in and took the credit.
-She made us sidekicks, just like Trahearne did. I don’t like Trahearne, I don’t like Kiel.
-She makes a decent Lionguard Captain, let her stay that way.
-Kiel is little miss perfect, not interesting what so ever.

-Evon takes care of business, he is the owner of the successful Black Lion Trading Company, and he never fails to bring you great items.
-He won’t make you his sidekick.
-Gnashblade knows the ins and outs of business, and therefore will easily make a deal with the Zephyr Sanctum, getting more great items for the people of Tyria.
-Evon is a very interesting character, his influence in the Captains Council will make great stories, forever changing the history of Tyria.
-And people say he will only do things to benefit himself, that’s the point! They’re all dirty pirates, and with his motivation for money, think of all the interesting stuff that could happen!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I know for a fact that Evon Gnashblade is the coolest cat in the club.
