Jade weapon design is nice but quality is bad
i agree, the designs on the jade weps are actually very nice, but when u start taking a closer look, u start to notice just how “plain” and “bad quality” it actually really is
Tarnished Coast
Maybe that pixelation is dragon scales. Look at it again with that in mind. ^^
If it is scales, they aren’t very well defined. Needs more definition.

Same problem here !

That’s weird, on my machine during preview, the Jade skins have higher detail than anything I’ve seen in the game to date.
I’m not at home at the moment, so I’ll have to post a screen grab when I get back.
But I also had a ticket drop from a regular coffer last night, so I can check the in-world texture against the preview.
Last night was an incredibly lucky one. I had the holographic dragon wing cover drop from a random mob while doing Grenth too
And not a single percentile of magic find on my character!
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.

Hmm, do you have high-res textures turned on in your settings?
Maybe it’s just that.
(I can’t test it, not been so lucky)

Yeah, everything’s maxed on my machine except for super-sampling.

Maybe they forgot to put the high-res textures in ^^

They seem pretty high detail on my PC and I can only select medium texture details in my options.
What i found odd today was when previewing the greatsword it was the high detail one moment then when i previewed it again 3 minutes or so later it was suddenly using the low res textures compared to all the other weapons and it stayed lowres in the preview window there after every time i previewed it.
Kinda reminds me of the two norn guards near the Lionsarch portal to Hoelbrak, for some reason on my PC they are both using lowres textures for their armor (their faces are fine), when all others around them are fine. Heck for over 2 months the male norn guards body had its shading turned off and all its polys where flat and faceted, somewhere along the line something fixed it…

going off of those two pics the first one looks pretty dang good, the second one obviously looks bad but you are zoomed way in…does anyone in this game actually play fully zoomed in? I know i don’t, my jade short bow looks great. Maybe i’m just not as nit picky as some on here.

Okay, so as it’s my favourite skin from this new set, I bought the shield for my Warrior.
Here’s a screeny to show the detail on my machine.
Pay particular attention to the head:
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
I agree. The dragon shield is about 1000x nicer then the rest of the weapons. By far my favorite too!
Some of the screenshots has rendering issue, I know because it happened to me when previewing it. It loads as generic skin then if you wait a while, your machine catches up and renders the item. It takes longer if you are in a populated zone.
What I do to see the full detail of my items is to go to HoM since I’m the only one there — or go into your Home instance.
Full set of 5 unique skills for both dual-wield weapon sets: P/P and D/D – Make it happen
PvE – DD/CS/AC – If that didn’t work, roll a Reaper or Revenant.
Oh how hard it must be for you, obtaining what everyone else desires, its a pity you ended up with this really epic and rare item that others would kill for. It hurts thinking about how unfortunate you are, how dare they not make it to your standards! I cry for you, I really do. Kitten!
They are not perfect quality art pieces but they certainly don’t look bad either. And, humor me a little, what if your graphics setting; that can make a bid difference.

Pfft the Axe is best. :P
Got to say this is the first staff in the entire game that I have ever wanted… and I cant get it.
gotta say those might be dents on the surface to achieve the dragon scale looking effect. It’s a common technique used in crafting eastern dragons. But yes, it’s very low res nonetheless
I noticed the same when previewing some weapons, I thought my graphical quality settings were set on low somehow…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy that I got the drop. It’s a beautiful staff and I love the overall design but the poor graphic resolution destroys the weapon’s integrity IMO. It’s an epic weapon therefore it should be perfect. Compare my hair and clothes in the screenshot to the staff. It’s like night and day.
That’s really weird. Like Mungrul, they’re some of the highest quality skins I’ve seen in the game as far as textures go.
Going by the screenshot you posted, it looks like the texture hasn’t finished loading yet for some reason. The texture quality of my staff seems to be much higher than that.
I will check my setting when i get home. Have you tried zooming all the way in with your staff?
Yeah, I have. It’s actually rather difficult for me to zoom in anymore than in the above screenshot on my asura (one of the pitfalls of being so short lol). I have to really fight with the camera to get a closer image. I’ll try to get one later.
That said, everything in the game seems like it has low resolution textures if you zoom in enough. I think it’s just an engine limitation.
Have you tried enabling supersampling (if your video card supports it)? I’m not sure how noticeable that will be for you but it makes a difference on my system.
This is not true. Everything I have is at a VERY good quality, with glint shine, detailed tactile grooves and structures. It is rather impressive, they screwed the Long bow up though.. what kind of a noodle design is that?
- This is speaking strictly to the Jade weapons, There are lower resolution armor from obvious STRETCHED armor skins from human to CHARR them lazy ppl.

Maybe it’s cause you’re a Norn? I noticed a lot of the armor is really stretched out and looks kind gross on the Norn. One of the reasons I stopped playing mine. = =’
when zooming my staff looks pixelated and ugly. These need to be high quality imo.
I’m actually fine with the staff on a minimum height human female character. It might not look as good scaled up for a bigger character. However, I’ve decided not to pursue a Greatsword skin because that one definitely isn’t textured very well.
Kudos to the modeler for the staff. The dragon’s body fits perfectly to the curve of my character’s back, which I thought was awesome.
I adjusted my setting and the quality have greatly improved. Although the scales still look blurry and pixelated imo. Compare with The Crosssing, the texture of the Jade Staff could be alot sharper.
Weapons look darn good to me. Too bad its practically impossible for most people to get one.
Perhaps its your settings
I feel it’s a bug. When you preview the Jade Weapons, they all seem fairly detailed. However, when you actually see one in game, it looks like some cheap low-poly model. This is especially true for the staff, though, axe seemed fine ?
