Let us be the racers!
Agreed. Right now you just stand around or running with the moas and that’s it. (Unless I’m missing something).
Not really a fun event.
This could have been easily made into a Rollerbeetle Race except with Moas and around a festive Lions’ Arch instance.
I don’t know, maybe the designers were busy with the dragonball, but I expected something completly different from the Moa Race and I’m disappointed. I don’t even care if this is made permanent.
I thought it should have been like the FF7 mini game.
It’s kind of fun (the first few rounds anyway) to run after the moas. I imagine the characters cheering for them, goading them and flailing their arms.
But I agree, being turned into a Moa and racing myself would have been fun, too. Maybe something like this could be added as a separate feature in the future…

Rollerbeetle races were easy to rig with your friends/guildmates. You just entered the race at the EXACT same time and you would all be in the same queue.
Moa racing is just another gold sink since statistically you can’t turn a profit but it’s not open to abuse as rollerbeetle races were.
I agree. I assumed it was going to be like rollerbeetle racing (which I really enjoy) and was excited until I heard how it really works.
Rollerbeetle racing was easy to rig, but it generally didn’t matter because the rewards weren’t that big of a deal. Bathazar faction was already easy to farm, victory tokens were widely available and people going after gamer points frankly needed all the help they could get. It might give you a slight edge on getting a mini Greased Lightning, but someone relying on help from all the other racers to win is unlikely to beat someone who is genuinely good and since it was awarded to the fastest overall racers being in a rigged match wouldn’t help.
I assume moa racing was introduced primarily to give the game another gold sink, and the actual mechanics of it are secondary.
