hello everyone,

a-net make this beautful armor (pls without feather on the skirt) available for the medium armor class, pls!!!!

why?because we have only coats for medium. i hate coats, i can never see this holy crap!
pls give us a nice skirt and (belly) tops. bordice and something like that.

i am sad about this limited choice of skins. 1.000.000 coats and ugly slacks and no bordice no tops, no (mini) skirts ;( no hotpants! ;( only one hipsters ;(

We have lots of armor that’s not coats. For WOMEN anyway. So count yourself lucky if you play female!

Remember you can split the pieces and mix them with other armors, you can get a lot of pretty and/or revealing stuff like that.

i dont want “nacked” armor to see “nacked” boobs or the underwear from my charakter.
i am not a boy, i am a girl.

i always want beautiful armor, a little bit sexy, snug, covered boobs, mini skirts long enough to cover the underwear an a really nice costly crested or simple lovely design with a lot of accessoires. like chains, rings, earrings, belts, …

i want to see more dermis from my charakter.

i just found it hilarious that you used a video in which someone fell (and the last minute or so was just a picture of a woman with a broken heel faceplanted on the floor) to try and argue thakittens possible

and seeing someone who clearly wouldnt be running around in high heels; running around ingame could easily break many peoples immersion

There were heels in GW. It wasn’t a ridiculous stripper heel either; they were sensible.

thats scholars though; not adventurers, even though they do the same things as adventurers in game; i can suspend my disbelief that they wear heels because scholars (the term they are officially described as) might actually wear heels

- not that i actually know what pirates would wear; i dont particularily care (but again; high heels on a ship at sea? with the rocking? – i dont wear heels; as im a guy; but i dont imagine that would be easy)

-high heels starts with 10 cm (fetish heels starts with 14 cm – master class of heels)
-normal heels are between 3 cm and 8 cm
- the form of heels are diffrent. for exampel typical high heels = pencil

i always wear in the winter boots with a 5 cm heel. and i dont fall/slide with them on ice. because they have a wide heel.

YES! I’m with the OP on this one. Wide heels are no problem for adventureres, I go walking (on dirt paths and in unpathed forests) all the time in a 3-5 cm wide heel shoe, and I have no problems.

The medium armor sets desperately need more variety. You look through light and there’s such a diversity, from flowing skirts, short skirts, to pants and beyond. Even heavy armor has more variety. Chain paints, skirts, even fricking armored loincloths for the t3 norn cultural (female), but all medium gets, with the exception of t3 human cultural is coats. Medium to long overcoats, and from the back, they really all look pretty much the same.

I would go crazy happy ballistic if something like Kasmeer’s armor were to be let out, or even if there were more style to the medium armors. Just more variety is all I’m really asking for here. (while also supporting the OPs request ^^)

Posters like this are the reason we have such a poor selection of armors in the game, especially medium armors.

This is a beautiful armor set and should be adapted for players. That you would object because you feel it’s skimpy is just mind numbingly absurd. 80% of the medium armors are tailor made for those with the most puritanical clothing choices and the other 20% are very limited.

Every time I see a potentially beautiful piece of armor in this game that was obviously ruined by posters demanding prudish clothing sensibilities I want to vomit. (Light armors offer the most obvious examples, with armors that would have shown a bit of leg having ugly bell bottom trousers added below the skirts. Who the heck would wear pants with a gown or dress?!?!?!?)

Sorry for the harshness of my reaction, but I hate posts like this. The game is already tilted in your direction severely, to the point of ruining what would have been beautiful armors in appeasement to a vocal minority. Enough is enough.

If you feel that Lady Kasmeer’s armor is skimpy, then I think you are a bit too conservative to be able to enjoy a fantasy game like this LOL. She’s covered up pretty good, but the armor is very form fitting. There’s a huge difference between scantily clad, and form fitting. We do not have enough of the former, and honestly I actually think we do not have enough of the latter, either. Of all the linked images, they reuse the same base models several times, this does not count as variety by any means whatsoever and honestly a few of those gettups are hideously arranged so it’s a really bad series of examples.

I’ve never in my entire time playing games complained of female-friendly armor, or scantily clad armor and most people I have seen that do tend to be much older individuals who can’t seem to accept that the demographic of these games when it comes to aesthetics are almost always going to be geared towards a younger more liberal crowed.. Many games lack a wide abundance of appealing sets for females & female characters on both fronts. Many of the armor sets are clunky, coat-ish, plain, hideous, or all of the above on female characters, especially when you get into medium & heavy armor sets. In my opinion, realism and the expectation of realistic equipment in a video game is extremely boring and the fact that it’s such a passionate thing for some people sort of depresses me. This is not real life, therefor I do not and should not expect it to resemble that. Otherwise there would not be magic, dragons, teleportation, or 90% of the combat animations that are placed in this or any other game.

Also, Guild Wars is famous for very stylish armor sets. Not boring & bland ones.

I wouldn’t care of there was a 100% naked model. Why be sensitive to objectifying women in a video game? I doubt the lot of you cause such a raucous about it when it happens in real life.

Also I’m not impressed with alot of the skins in this game, especially for charrs and medium classes, I’m tired of all the potato-sack inspired get-ups. They need to have a massive influx of new skins, and they need to branch out from the boring majority of stuff they have now. I’m tired of wearing a reskin of my lvl 1 skirt on my ele because the other options consist of long Amish skirts or daggy pants. power to the people who enjoy that, but I’m not interested. I play to tailor the look of my character to how I want, but there’s limited options at the moment.

I agree please make Kasmeer’s armor available for players, but in light please, as it appears to be. Getting a bit tired of seeing armor/clothes on NPC’s that we can’t have. :-(

The only NPC in my opinion who should be unique (even though I feel she needs a make-over too) is Queen Jennah.

Jenna needs a makeover so bad it isn’t funny. I like to refer to her as “The Hippie Queen” because she’s barefoot and has messy hair. I totally agree that she should appear more unique, the way Kasmeer and Anise do.

Also, I second better costumes for the women! I loved the classy armor sets from Guild Wars, high heels and all.

I’d rather have Marjory’s armor.

She has cool armor too. Also a cool hairstyle. I think people just want a wider variety of options for their ton’s appearance. It’s more fun when you can look relatively unique.

I’d rather have Marjory’s too. That stuff was awesome looking. And yeah, Paragons were heavy armor. Only ones besides Warriors in GW1.

Marjory is a Necromancer.
Kasmeer’s profession is still unknown, but it looks to be more medium than heavy or light.

I’d only advocate giving one armor type a new armor-set if all of them got a new armor set.

OOH WAIT, SKY PIRATES INCLUDES A NEW ARMOR SET FOR ALL PROFESSIONS (yes, there are 3 sky pirate sets).

How to get them is currently unknown. Additionally, Aetherblade weaponry is most likely going to be included as well.

Medium Heritage armor isn’t a coat at least for female characters.

i would gladly enjoy this armor for my female, wearing a coat all the time… i just resort to town clothing more and more.

This whole thread has ignited a common topic of discussion in gaming forums: sexism and the portrayal of women in video games.

That there tends to be a lopsided depiction of women in most games has to do with the (traditionally) low participation women have in playing and making hardcore video games (by this I mean your big titles like Call of Duty, Halo, Killzone, StarCraft etc). I think a lot of people would agree that female (and male too) characters in video games tend to be very attractive, and their attractiveness/sexuality is often exaggerated or played up in unrealistic ways. A member of my guild posted this lelzy image advertising some browser/mobile game.

She found it amusing, but browsing the rest of the 1600+ comments on the image showed that a great many women found it indecent and offensive.

Addressing this is a somewhat difficult thing to do. Video games are a form of entertainment/art/escapism, and they are an opportunity to experience something that is decidedly unrealistic. The fact that someone can choose to play a sexy cheerleader grinding zombies with a giant chainsaw (a la Lollipop Chainsaw) is part of that experience. Rigidly enforcing standards of realism in every game would detract from the purpose of videogames, which is to entertain.

So ultimately, there is a place for games like DOA Xtreme Beach Volleyball. Even if they gratuitously market female sexuality, there are some people who want that. But what about the women who don’t? I think the solution to this is, rather than limiting/censoring how women are portrayed, developers can try to expand their artistic styles, characters, and the types of games they make. In that regards, Guild Wars 2 has generally done a very good job. At the same time, I don’t think it would be “wrong” for them to include more style options for people who want a bigger dose of fantasy than reality.

I think it would be great if they brought in more of the Guild Wars armor into Guild Wars 2.

I mean, most of that doesn’t show inappropriate amounts of skin, is pretty, feminine, and relatively diverse. I wonder if it would be hard for ANet to port those over?

When people ask for more form fitting medium armors, I don’t think all of them are asking for skimpy, revealing armors, a lot of peeps just don’t like the bug bulky coat/top designs a lot of medium armors have.

Personally, I wish there were more torso pieces that ended at the belt line.

Take the basic white leather set for example.

If the torso didn’t have that huge chunk of material going past the waist, and instead the torso armor ended at the belt line, it would look like a pretty nice set of armor imo.

I agree with you about that armor Lambent, simply removing the lower half of the coat would make for a great alternative.
