some tips:
- there is strength in numbers! stick together!
- get the upgrades! learn to use them!

and this worked for me.
a few steps. just 2 steps actually.
step 1 is always the same though.

1. join a random (as if you have a choice) dragon ball game.

2a. if game is ending
- press b for score board
- note down higher scorer names. remember their names and scores.
- play game normally until game ends and a new round starts.
- see which team the previous higher scores are.
- if none are on your team, quit and repeat step 1.

2b. if game is just starting
- play normally until your team wins.
- check score board if you are dead.
- if opposing team is leading by 100 – 0 in the 1st 30 seconds, quit and repeat step 1.

2c. if there are away from keyboard players in your team
- u will see players not moving standing in the playing field
- try camp near them and kill the opposing team players trying to get a free kill
- use skill 5 on them and watch the opposing team players kill themselves
- if it feels like a lost cause, quit and repeat step 1

anyway, if you are keen in finishing the 20/20 dragon ball wins achievement as fast as possible, remembering the previous round high scorer’s names and scores is crucial.

if you follow, stick together and support previous high scorers in a new round, the chance of getting a win is much higher.

of course, the rounds would be more exciting and be more of a fair fight if there are previous round high scorers on both teams but that would mean more time might be needed to get 20/20 dragon ball wins.

Ah so the OP is one of those quitters that we all rage about in Dragonball.. your no better than an AFK’er imo…. should ANET ever learn to test and play out their content to notice the flaws, maybe then they will consider introducing penalties to fit the crime.
No one likes to waste there time.. but to freely advertise doing the very thing that creates the very issues with DB in the first place deserves some poetic justice!

I finished the achievement easily by doing the following

1) Press B
2) Count how many People are in the Teams:
2a) if any team has 5 Members -> play as good as you can
2b) if your team has not as many or the same amount of members switch to the enemy team (if not possible -> play as good as you can)
This will give you the slight advantage you needed, because the game is now most likely 3v5 for ~ 2-5 Minutes.
Stay in a group to get more points for your team and steal that babie’s candy.

You may say “this is mean and unfair!” – yep, it is.
But Dragon Ball gets numb after 10 minutes and I just want that kitten achievment.

The easiest way to get it is to wait until the score is 0-460 and then switch teams. At least that is the way that requires the least amount of effort. Not sure why you can switch teams, but hey if it’s part of the game might as well use it.

Though once you get good enough you really only need 1 other good player then you can carry the rest of your team. The slot 1 upgrade is the most important since it gives you unlimited range, and the slot 5 upgrade is the best defence since it reflects everything but the slit 2 upgrade.

Also there is a 15 second invisibility in the middle of the court that doesn’t break when attacking, it is a pretty big advantage. At the bottom center of the map there is a super powerup that lets you 2 shot people.

I wouldn’t say he’s no better than the AFK’ers. As someone who has been on the AFK’ers team, I can tell you it is not worth the time to let the other team farm for kills. Everyone wants to have an enjoyable experience and it’s 0% enjoyable when you are guaranteed to lose from the start. I don’t blame anyone for wanting to leave. AFK’ers are the problem. Specifically the achievement simply for completing games since it pushes people to do it.

I found that the randomized teams gave you a good one often enough that getting 20 wins wasn’t so bad. It also doesn’t take too long to figure out the mechanics. I went from being the bottom scorer (between 0 and 3) to top scorer (highest score of 18) after playing several times.

I will admit that I left the arena and came back a few times. I did this if I ended up on a team where at least one person was obviously AFK (because it’s a waste of my time). I did this if the game ended up being 5 vrs 3 and I was on the 3 person team (because it’s a waste of my time). Once I got dumped in a 1 v 1 arena and I left after the guy killed me once hoping it would give him an automatic victory because otherwise it was a waste of BOTH our time.

I like being able to drop in and out of the game in that it’s convenient if something comes up, but sometimes just trying to get into a decently fair match is hard. Maybe I’m not making that easier by moving in and out, but by the time I was on game 30 I got sick of being slaughtered in 5 v 3.

Now there were also plenty of times I stuck it out while my team got our butts kicked. Sometimes even while others were abandoning the team because we were losing. I don’t feel it’s unjustified to leave a team with an AFK player.

Edited to add: When I got on a team that was 5 v 5 I actually really enjoyed playing the game. There were a few times we came back from being over 100 points behind. Now I don’t know if that’s because people were leaving the other team, but I doubt it because there were some games we won by 20 or 40 points. And those were the games I enjoyed most because they challenged me to try to be good at the game even though I’m really not. It only takes a small string of being stuck on bad teams to make this game frustrating very quickly. And by ‘bad’ I mean ending up in a 5 v 3 or a team with AFK players not unskilled teams. Because I think as long as everyone on both teams is trying the game is fun, even if you lose.

Hahaha, I got dumped in a 1 v. 1 team with an afker that I had reported about ten times previously in games I’d had with him before. At this point I recognized his lazy @ss pretty quickly… I killed him about five times before he suddenly started moving, ran away from me, and then left he game. I seriously debated just standing around for the rest of the game to see if I’d be automatically given the win, but got bored and left—standing there for twenty more minutes seemed silly. Felt good to repeatedly kill the guy, though, I wish he would have stayed afk.

This is how I play Dragonball, or rather, how Dragonball plays me:

• I’m on the losing team. Probably my fault, although when my team loses 0:500, maybe I’m not the only one who sucks.
• I’m on the winning team (rarely). In this case, the game will (without fail) disconnect me halfway through to make sure that I don’t get credit for the match.

This is the third time this has happened in as many matches… I’m done for the day.

Question, how do you switch teams? I’ve never noticed the option even after I was told it existed. Not that the other team will want me, I don’t have the reflexes for PvP and I don’t think I got as high as third best scorer more than once in 25 games. And only won 6 of those 25. I certainly don’t have time during a match to stare at the UI looking for a button somewhere on it to press because I am moving constantly, going for powerups and heals and zapping any enemy I see.

I have done my best to stick with teammates and to be aware of the opposing side’s locations, and I’ve had some runs with a good number of kills, but I seldom end up on a team that is sticking together. I’d love to swap to the team that has 3 or 4 moving in a pack and help them out.

Just start passing the word that the 20 dragon ball games do not count towards the meta achievement (it was just reduced to from 10 to 8 achievements because of that) and there should be a lot less AFK players in the games.

I don’t know if this helps, but I’ve made a little video with my team winning 500-60. If you’re lucky, you’ll randomly get into such games. Just stick with your teammates.

Maybe I just got lucky with 20/24 wins, but I found that you can help make your own luck in DB:

Learn the map. This is so crucial. It’s not large so know it off by heart. Know where to jump, how to drop down from the ledges into the tunnels, how to utilize the jump-pads to move around, etc.

Know where the power-ups are and what they do, as well as how to use them. AoEing a group of enemies chasing a teammate is very satisfying, as well as shielding when you get focus-fired. Same goes for health – know where they are and how much they give.

Know where your opponents are going and cut them off. If he’s running up in the tunnel then jump up and wait for him up-top. Drop and AoE as he pops out and he won’t even see it coming.

Be persistent. No matter where he runs, CHASE HIM. Be like a dog with a bone and don’t let go till he dies. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing them make a desperate sprint for health only to die inches from it.

Target AFKers. Sure, some people will tell you all about how it’s bad sportsmanship etc, etc. I say **** that! They came into DB knowing what’s gonna happen. If they walk away, they are fine with being slaughtered. A free kill is still a kill.

And lastly – stick together! Nothing brings enemies down faster than focus fire. If nobody is following you, follow somebody else. Typing is a waste of killing time, save it for when your dead. You probably wont be on the same teams enough to even set up decent communication, so just act.

You can just check who are active and successful and then at the start of the next round just open score tab and click on “change team” to be with them.
