Tequatl Explanation...Where is it?
It could happen!
Maybe we’ll be having Tequila shots on the ruins of LA! Using electro-magnetic sonic-y drills to poke into Tequila’s piping (ley lines), Scarlet will be the Dragonborn, aka Saladborn, and will utilise the dragon for riding into LA as the ultimate airborne combat vehicle! Biotech, magitech, and.. er.. Recycled Living Tech (now with added Toxin!) FTW!
It has been sort of tied-in. If you went into the LA living story instance during The Origins of Madness (it might still be there), you could see Rox talking to Rytlock Brimstone about it: Rytlock sent Rox to kill Teq in order to test her and see if she is worthy of joining his Stone warband (Rox lost her previous warband and is now a gladium); Rox helped and brought a chunk of Teq’s tail to prove it. Then Rytlock sends her on one final mission before accepting her, against the Marionette. There is also the dialogue between Braham and Rox where we get that Rox just does not get it that she already is in a warband, with Braham and… well, I guess just him.
It’s a very weak tie-in, but I think that’s all there will be to this. Teq is too far-off to be otherwise related, but who knows?
Rox helped and brought a chunk of Teq’s tail to prove it.
Yep, I thought that was the tie-in, although weak, still a tie-in
That’s not an explanation for why Tequatl grew stronger after Zhaitan’s death though… unless I’m missing something?
Obviously its something to do with the ley lines. Tequatl somehow tapped into the magic in the ley lines and got stronger. Most likely an unintentional side effect of what Scarlet is trying to do (whatever that may be).

yeah I figure with Zhiatan dead, Tequatl has access to more ‘dragon magic’ from the ley lines. just a possibility. I think us killing Zhiatan is responsible for what is going on now. Of course the writers have a hard time balancing the in game timeline as new players experience the LS but might have not killed the dragon yet.
It wont be anything to do with zhaitan. The living story is meant to be seperate from your personal story progress. So tequatl is stronger even if you havent beaten zhaitan on a certain character yet.

yeah that why I specifically said might be an issue in my post, but I still think the ley lines may be the explanation. they are certainly talking about them a lot now.

They need to bring the whole group together better. Right now, Marjory and Kasmeer are their own little unit, even poking fun at Braham during the Toxic Alliance arc. Thankfully, with Rox growing a bit distant, Taimi’s arrival has given Braham a new ally. I’m hoping that Rox comes around and rejoins Braham (with Taimi in tow) with 100% gusto and the KasMarjory unit realizes their “special relationship” won’t be at risk by allying with the other heroes.
That’ll give us Destiny’s Edge v2.0 with a golemancer, ranger, warrior, mesmer, and thief necro.

However, Bobby explicitly said, " Tequatl becoming stronger (and Rox being present) are both tied into the overall LW story".
Rox’s presence is, albeit poorly, tied in. However, Tequatl becoming stronger is not.

Here is you Tequatl explaination, listen carefully:
CHAPTER 1
Tequatl as a boss, was a snore-fest. You stood there, and put a rock on the number 1 key, or set it to autoattack.
CHAPTER 2
The developer team decided (on player feedback) that bosses should be more challanging, so they decided to change the mechanics of Tequatl, and make a it a decent challange.
CHAPTER 3
The improved Tequatl was put into game.
CHAPTER 4
Developers put Rox there, so it had a tie in with the story, altough the whole LS was a feature and boss update.
CHAPTER 5
People on the forums, even months after the update failed to realize, that this has nothing to do with the personal story, nor the living story for that matter. It was simply a feature update, with a very weak link to the LS storywise. People also miss the point that from the Story Perspective Tequatl was always the same. It is the same dragon attacking, as it was always, it didn’t get stronger – yes it did get harder gameplay wise.
Tequatl is a dragon that you encounter ONCE and then you kill it. It is destroyed when you fight it and win. It is no more. However, this is an MMO and content must be replayable.
Is it really this hard to understand this?

I thought Jory was a thief. Never was clear on that though. She’s good with poisons and antitoxins as we know, and I thought that was explained as being a thief-like trait. She is a sneaky investigator after all.
Wiki says she’s a necro though so my mistake.

Her weapons of choice are Axe/Dagger. Thieves can’t use axes.

They wouldn’t have added the whole living story arc of how teq is growing larger. That he is now 5x larger then regular dragon champions and is 5x his previous size. <-doesn’t really show in game. Also they would have used the word change instead of evolution for the update. Evolution is a continuous process. So expect teq to get harder in the future.

Can’t really use that as to why shes not a thief. Rytlock is a warrior and his choice of weapons r sword and pistol. Warriors cant use pistols.
Still 2 patches left, we still don’t know “everything” even if some players think they do.
Maybe Tequatl will tie into the next part of the living story (meaning the part after Scarlet’s bit is resolved, the next “chapter” or however you want to put it) and not this part. I could see them wanting to put in a few little hooks for the next part and not wanting to just start it out of nowhere, maybe Tequatl is one of those hooks.
Overall story does not necessarily mean Season One story.
It is fully possible that we will get more information about it during season 2 (which would make quite much sense if season 1 ends with Dragon(s).

Not saying it’s necessarily a good argument, but that be explained by the Charr racial skill Hidden Pistol. Maybe?

You have the sequence of events wrong. I bolded your mistake.
