Gw2 = farming, once again
What do you expect instead?
What exactly do you want? An event that can be completed once, and then it’s done? No one else can do it ever again?
You don’t want anything to be repeatable?
Some people have farmer mentality. You can do it casually, just do one run and that was it. Do not force yourself to do it over and over again.
No but I would like for there something else that follows it, possibly send us off to figure out how we can destroy it or help the citizens outside. Or give us more LS progressions within LA that doesn’t have to be completed within the hour that can be done solo. I don’t care that its repeatable, I’m annoyed that its there is one vague event to complete for the next two weeks
He wants the karka event from November 2012.
Also, you want farming to be a part of the living story otherwise people have no incentive to keep doing it after they’ve gotten their achievements. With how quickly you can get the achievements, people would have been done well before the weekend.

No, I don’t want the Karka event either . I want there to be more LS to complete or something that takes place outside being in the raid. Give people a reason to break off from the zerg

You don’t care if your version of content isrepeatable, yet your original post complains about the current repeating, looping content
Its the fact that the repeatable content is the only content to do in this patch. The tower of nightmares was a good example of where they tied progression in the LS with repeatable content. Yes you had the content that could be repeated but there was more to the story and patch. There was stuff to do outside the zone and there were instances of lore. I loved that patch
LA being destroyed and having to rescue citizens is not a big enough LS? No reason to follow the zerg, create a group and just go off and save citizens. There are so many citizens that are spread out that the only way to get will be to break off from zerg.

They do it this way to give everyone a chance to complete it.
Their first big update – Lost Shores – was a series of one-time only events over a weekend and it caused a lot of issues and got a lot of complaints. Not just from people who couldn’t be there but people who hit bugs or lag or kept disconnecting. Even before the event finished they had to change it to allow you to do part 1 while part 2 was going on, because so many people were unable to finish it in the time originally allowed.
All in all it was a mess and Anet agreed that one-time events were not a good idea. So we’ve got the system we have now where content is available for 2 or 4 weeks and can be completed at any time within that, usually repeatable as well.
It doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it for the full two weeks, or even that you have to do it twice. It just means the option is there if you want to.
Personally I think it’s much better this way because everyone can choose how they want to approach it. If you want to farm then you have that option, if you want to play through it just once then you can do that too and you won’t really miss out on anything. If you want to do something in the middle – like go for certain goals and skip others – then you can do that.
Much better than Anet deciding on one path and forcing everyone to follow it.

What is being completed in LA right now, defines farming. The only thing that happens if you don’t show up is that you don’t have stacks of valubles, it won’t matter to the rest of the world
The odd part is even if you do have valuables, lol the rest of the world still does not care..
This is but a hunch, maybe gw2 isn’t the game for you if your repeatedly unhappy. With lack of defined roles, spammable skills and the down state, zergs are here to stay

There’s no grinding for the achievements. Most can be gotten within an hour. Exceptions being like the ones at the entrances to LA and maybe the rubble one.

For the moment at least…Anet or their higher ups can always deem Zergs no longer required.

I don’t think it’s intended to keep you doing this for the whole 2 weeks.
Some people will do that, either because they want to farm it or because they have very limited time to play, but for most people it will take a lot less. The entire rest of the game is there to give you something to do the rest of the 2 weeks.
Personally I much prefer it this way. Back in July and August (and June to a lesser extent) they did have very grindy achievements that were intended to take most of the month to complete and it was horrible. I was seriously considering quitting the game at that point because I felt like I was just playing to keep up and never had time to do the things I really wanted to do (like dungeons, map completion, levelling alts) because I had to prioritise the temporary content.

This is farming that is not worth it, speedruning dungeons with a good group, doing world events and just spamming frostgorge is far more profitable, this patch had dissapointed me so much. It’s the siege of LA and all i am doing is standing behind people autoattacking :/
Lions Arch (LA) = Loot Area…Good job. All I have to do is press my loot spell (Guardians staff, Spell 1) to get gold and a bunch of crap.

its basically adding a MASSIVE hour-long world event for casuals who kittened and moaned about Teq/ tri-wurm/ marionette. its a step in the story….and a nice diversion from the normal stuff you do, but its not mean to be ground endlessly for 2 weeks (unless you want multiple back skins). You don’t have to zerg (tho zerging is most profitable….but profit isn’t really the complaint; “fun” is) to do the event…..
that said……..its been a long while since the last non-fractal dungeon/5-man focused LS……could use some new party content…………i long for another Aetherblade Retreat.
Better yet, add more stuff like marionette (starts as “zerg”, but eventually breaks down into parties), but this time the party aspect consumes more time and attention. can’t stress enough how great iot feels to do an event as part of a greater whole, but be responsible for victory on a small/personal scale.

Yeah it would feel less zergy and more personal if they split the zerg up much more. The fact that there are so many overlapping events (I’ve had three all in the same area at once) and they are so short makes the zerg stay together and port around. By making the events longer and include more chains, it would require people to stay in smaller groups spread out and if an area needs more then people can help accordingly.
Also it would be nice to include a variety of events, not just escort and timed kill. GW2 is full of these differing mechanic events and many of them could’ve been incorporated. Following that there should be chained events, if one is failed or if one is succeeded, what would be the next best course of action.

Thats what I gathered from the time that my Wife has spent running it and the pitiful drops/coin that she amassed.
